A letter dated April 6th/65 from the Town of Three hills
was read in which it thanked this Council for making Centennial
Grant money available to the Town. Mr. Loosmore moved than
this be acCepted and filed. Carried.
A letter from the Town of Three Hills dated April 7th/
65 was read in which they requested a grant from the Municipal
District to assist in the recreation program. This suggested
that the grant should be about $1,718.00 based on the premise
that about 1/3 of the total children taking part in the
recreation program come from the rural areas. This does not
include the swisming pool:: Authority of Council was discussed
briefly and the matter was then tabled without motion.

School Division, was not present for any part of this
meeting.
The Secretary-Treasurer gave a report as elelfare
Officer in regard to Per. E. A. Compton and family �Velfare
assistance at the rate of $50 00 every two weeks has been
continued £o groceries, but Mr Compton has requested
assistance ii regard to the following.

2. Cana ian Utilities account for October , November
and December, 1964 in the account of $42.84•
This had been paid by Mr. Matt Siltala but
he requested that the ICI D reimburse him.

Mr Lo smore moved that the Welfare report re

Mr. L smore brought up the matter of conditions
regarding the Fournier family for discussion. He
advised that Mr Fournier is temporarily off work and
that his drinking has an adverse affect on the family
welfare. 141. G. King advised that Mr Fournier has not
made any ap li.cation for welfare and had previously
advised thal he did not wish assistance. The matter
was tabled z fter discussion.
Mr Clarence Becker mat with Council regarding the
proposed subdivision in NE- 1- 32 -24 -4 and the proposed
access alon the northwest side of the C.N.P. in the
SF -12 -32-24 4 He stated that the Prairie Bible Institute
is now not willing to transfer the corner for the access
and from his discussion with the railway company, he
advised that the M.D. could apply for a public crossing
instead of the farm crossing which is used at present.
IRr Schmelk moved that a committee of Mr. Peters, Mr.
Loosmore ano Mr. King be named to discuss the above
with the interested parties. Carried
The Secretary- Treasurer advised that Truss Barbara
Lamberth of1the Drumheller Health Unit had asked about
having the Health Unit rooms in our office repainted.
Mr Peters moved that this be authorized and that the
Secretary - Treasurer have authority to make arrangements.

Regional Planning Commission to the Provincial Planning
Board was mad in regard to Blk. X and a portion of the

meeting of the Provincial Planning Board. Mr. Brown moved

During the dinner break most of the Council went out
to the hotel site east cf Three Hills and discussed possible iIOTEL
street improvements, access road improvements and approach
entries to the Motel and to Grantville
The Co ncil meeting reconvened at 1.15 P.M. with all
members present and heard the reports of the visit to the
motel site The Secretary - Treasurer stated that he would be
personally egainst more than two entries from the Grantville
area onto t e main road and that, in his opinion, Council
did not neec to improve the access road at the Motel at

Gimbel and oe Dobler, came into the meeting at this time
Further discussion took place in regard to the above.
Mr Peters moved that an entry from the mmain road
to the Motel. be placed in the S E corner of the motel
site, that the Municipal District supply any required
culverts, and that the Municipal District do any grading
work requir d at its expense, all on condition that any
gravelling equired be done by Mr George Raffan as
owner of th Motel, and further, that the rresent centre
access to G antville will be closed. Carried
Mr Lo swore moved that Council approve of up to two
days work w th the Euclid for the Town of Three Hills at
the regular, rental.rates if the conditions and timing are
0 K so as not to interfere with other municipal work.

Mr. Joe Dobler reported on the progress with the
gravelling.! They are now hauling into Div. 2 roads from
the crusheriworking just west of Linden The Secretary -
Treasurer advised that Doug Hazelton of Linden Contractors
had stated hat his Company is prepared to move to the
Sharples- Hepketh pit when they have completed the work
from Linden area and that he believes they will be able
to haul across the creek as the water is quite low. Work
to be done 1frc.m the Knudsen area was then discussed. Mr.

Mr. Ted Paquette and Dune Peters reported that Mr. H. ROEDLER
Herman Roed er of Carstairs had inquired regarding the HYD.RAMS
possible pur hase of two hydraulic rams from an old dozer
Ted stated t at these were not being used by this District.
Mr. Peters m ved that the two used hydraulic rams be
offered for ale to Herman Roedler as is at $50.00 ea.

Reports from the Bridge Branch advised that the
bridge south of NW -3 -31 -2214 (K Morel) will be repaired, BRIDGES
that the bri ge W/SW- 2- 30 -25 -4 (N Klassen) will be re-
paired; and bhat the old abutments, etc will be removed
from the old bridge site in the NW --19- 30-25 -4, west of
Linden. Mr. Poole moved that these be accepted. Carried.
A lette from Street Robbins Morrow was read in which
they advised that Mr. Bob McDonald was the new salesman SW4
for this are o. This was ordered filed.

a Resource R ad grant of $13,500.00 has been granted for RESOURCE
the road sou h of 2 and 'Test of 1 and 12 in 34 -26 -4, this RD. GRANT

north two mi es by the gas plant. This grant is one a
75% - 25% ba is Mr. Loosmore moved that this be accepted.

Grading work for the road crews was then discussed
with the foremen.

to do required grading work at the coulee north of Mrs.
Dundas?s r of 4 and reg- -riding as required west of 4
and 9 and South of 15 and 16 in 32 -26 -4, and that they
be authorizes to put in a number of culverts at other
locations asIthey are moving out Carried
Mr Gin el reported that the new Wagner is now
working at S ellQs and the used one is now at Carbon
ready to go o work. It was agreed that the south crew
use the seco d Magner until the end of this week and that
it then be t ansferred to the north crew.
The Secretary-Treasurer gave each Councillor and
foreman a co y of his report of the road tours made
recently. C? e copy of same is included with these
minutes. Th se were then ordered tabled with the aim
of holding a special meeting or extra time at a later
meeting for kull discussion of them
Council discussed the possible purchase of an
additional truck so as to assist with the work to
avoid hiring any privately owned trucks later in the
season,;but ao definite action was taken on this.

use in our ook car as it had only a small freezing
compartment He further reported that Dunc Peters and he
had looked it others in Calgary and found that the price
range was up to about $135 00 Mr Schmelke moved that
a committee of Mr Peters, Mr Paquette and Mr King have
authority to buy a fridge for the north crew at a delivery
prxce of up to $150.00. Carried.

the assess nts of Socony Mobil Oil of Canada were then
discussed and it was felt that a good brief should be
presented. Mr. Church moved that the Secretary- Treasurer
discuss these ideas with Mr George Park, Assessor, and
get his adv ,ae regarding hiring an expert assessor and/
or a lawyer in regard to the assessment appeals. Carried.
A letter was read from Mr. Melvin J. Ralston in RALSTON
which he requested permission to add two bedrooms to his HOUSE
house in 5E-- 30- 29 -24 -4. The new part would be approximately
879 from the centre of the roads so required Council Qs
approval. lhis had been inspected by Council when on road
tour and it seemed agreed that there would be no inter-
ference with later road developments and it would not
create any now hazard Pair. Peters moved that Mr Ralston
be granted ermission to make an addition to his residence
as requeste . Carried.
Mr. Peters moved that a letter be written to the Hon.
Gordon Tayl r, Minister of Highways, to inquire regarding
the followifte-

2. The great need for rebuilding of the part of Hwy.

Motion carried.
The Se retary- Treasurer advised that he had talked
to Mr. A.M. Stephenson at our office regarding the Feb.
account of 2 50 for snowplowing. Mr. Stephenson had
explained t at nearly all of the work was on the forced
road allowaice and that it had not been done at his request

The Secr tary- Treasurer read to Council an excerpt
from the ni.nu es of the Council meeting of September 23,
1963 in regari to the Hamlet of Linden and a special grant
given it at t at time of $200 to help pay for materials
at the skating rink No reference had been made at that
time to the other recreation grant so it appeared that
the sum of $464 90 was now actually owing to the Village
of Linden as the surplus of the recreation grant. Mr
Campbell moved that the Village of Linden be paid $464 90
as the balance of the government recreation grant Carried
A letten from Jubilee Insurance Agencies advised that
the three ye r premium of $144 00 would be the amount for
libel and s antler actions to a limit of $50,000 each
person and $ 0,000. aggregate with 15% insurance partic-
ipation. It further advised that if desired, this should
be a part of the general liability policy. Mr Loosmore

Correspondence dated April 26th , 1965 from German,
Lutz and Coady, Solicitors, was read in regard to Canus
Prebuilt Ltd and the mobile home licenses From this it
appeared that Canus Prebuilt would pay the license fees
in full to the end of 1964, and would negotiate on a
monthly basiE for the time that the mobile homes are at
the gas plant in 1965. Mr. German had also suggested that
Hunicipal By-law #r` 300 be amended so that it would better
comply with 1'ec 2 of Chapter 69 of the 1960 Statutes in
respect to t e Municipal District Act
Mr. Peters moved lst Reading to By- Law.No.471, this
being a By-Law to amend Municipal By -Law No 300 as follows.
Sec 1, subsection B shall be deleted as it appears
in By -Law No 300 originally and the following shall be
substituted tinder the same Number. - "mobile homey means
(a) any vaca ion trailer or house trailer or,
(b) any stru ture, whether ordinarily equipped with wheels
or not, that is constructed or manufactured to be moved
from point t point by being towed or carried and to provide
living acco odation for one or more persons.
