Correspondence from the Local Authorities Eoard and Board
Order Ho 1579 were read to Council in respect to the Drumheller
nnexa ion In :-grief, the 3oard ordered the annexation of all
areas applied for by the City of Drumheller and did not place
any restrictions on the City. Correspondence from our Solicitors
was read in connection with this Board Order and other matters
connected with it The Solicitors suggested that an appeal might
be mad as the Zoard had. accepted as true certain evidence which
had later been found incorrect, particularly the fact that there
will be no staff residences on section 25- 28 -20 -4. Hr Brown
coved that our Solicitors be authorized to appeal the decision of
the Local Authorities Board in respect to Sec 25 and a portion of
Sec 26 in 28 - 20 -4 on condition that the total cost of the
appeal will not exceed $250 Carried

Council and invited them to a luncheon on Tuesday of Convention

Mr Ted Paquette and Dick Gimbel then left the meeting

Kneehill Ratepayers Protective Association, met with Council They
submitted a resolution for the Councilps support, which, in brief,
requested that Sec. 429 of the Municipal District Act be amended
by deleting all reference to a provision of Weather Modification
for a part only of a Municipal District They felt that the
section 3hould apply to the whole of the area as a small portion
is not s3Ltisfactory and causes considerable trouble Considerable
discussi n took place regarding this with them and they were
advised hat Council would discuss it later and make their
decision. They then left the meeting

The Council meeting that had adjourned from lJov 9/64 was re-
convened in the Municipal office, Three dills on Nov 23/64 at
9 00 A %I , with all Councillors again in attendence.
Mr. D C Dau, representative of the Three Hills School Division
was present throughout this meeting.
Mr Brown, Mr Peters and G King reported on their meeting
on Satu day last with representatives of the road employees, at
es which time a full discussion had taken place regarding wage scale,
tc, working conditions and related matters. The report was discussed
at considerable length by Council. I'Ir Brown moved that some of
the major details of the discussion with the road employees be sent
to each Councillor for further study Carried
Hr Peters moved that a questionnaire be sent to the employees
of the oad grading crews regarding the hiring of cooks for 196$
with the men to l;e given their choice as to whether*
1 they wish cooks hired as in previous years, or,
2 they would prefer an additional 8¢ per hr. with pay for
V travel time one -way; with transportation provided to and from work;
and with a cook car or a bunk car to be kept at the main job location

The solicitors are now awaiting word from the Local Authorities
Board as to whether or npt it is willing to reconsider its decision

A letter dated November 21st/64 from Pair R N Rolston was
read tc Council in respect to the building which he had purchased
at Swa well in S! Lot 10, Blk 3. Mr Rolston requested cancell-
ation of his contract and stated he was willing to forego the $2 00
which he had paid for the building Mr Poole moved that Mr
Rolsto ys proposal be accepted Carried.
Mr. Peters moved that Mr C Poole and Mr R. Loosmore be
appointed as a committee to arrange the sale of the building
returned to this District by Mr. R N Rolston as noted above.

Assessor and Appraiser of the Municipal District, and Pair H J

The application of Mr Eldon E Toews for purchase of the
SW -13 and NE -14, Twp. 30, Rge 2$ - W4th was then considered
Purchase was to be made from his mother, Mrs. Helena Toews at a
purchase price of $24,000 and with the down payment waived The
apprai al of the land and buildings as made by Mr Geo Park was
outlined in detail and totalled $30,000. Various forms as submitted
including the application, statement of affairs, appraisers report,
banker 9s memo, etc were outlined to Council and discussed Mr.
Toews Etated that he wished a 20 year term for repayment.
Mr. and Mrs Eldon Toews left the meeting and Council and Mr
Taylor and the others then further discussed the application
Mr Campbell moved that the Council approve of the application
as sub itted by Mr Eldon D Toews and refs ~rred to above, and that
same be forwarded to the Alberta Farm Purchase Board for consider-
ation, with the recommendation that it be approved. Carried
