Tha pros and cons of having an assessment and taxation_ of all farm buildings was then discussed at some length with special reference to the effect on the taxpayers and to the difficulty now in ietermining what buildings are and which are not exempt I11-r Brown moved that this Council propose a resolution to the Central Alberta Association meeting that there be no assessment or tax exempti n on any improvements within the Province. Motion carried 5 to 2 Mr D E. Hazelton of Linden Contractors net with the Council and discussed the following 1 they are moving to the Linden district by Thursday noon to start crushing work for the paving project under Border Paving 2 price for winter works gravel crushing will be discussed by them and a quotation given in at the office by October 24th 3 they are arranging with a contractor from Drumheller to test for gravel at the McVeigh location in sec 34- 29 -21 -4 4 -1r Ralph Loosmore agreed to contact C V Elvin to see if it is possible to take gravel from the river with a drag line at his location 5 some of the gravel pits need to have stripping done prior to comet nement of gravel crushing 6 Linden Contractors have a new drag line and crusher and v there will be no stones rejected with the new machine Mr. Hazelton then left the meeting. Per. H J. Hanson, Assistant Secretary- Treasurer then presented the gen ral accounts for consideration It was agreed that the account from the Town of Three Mills for work at the Nuisance ground Ile tabled until we can check with Ted Paquette as to whether or not eny work was done with Municipal machinery this Spring Mr Schmelke moved that all other accounts and paysheets be passed or payment as presented Carried. Mr Al Smith of Industrial & Road Equipment met triefly with Council and advised that they are no longer Austin Western dealers but that they still have a supply of parts on hand They are continuing with the Agency for Galion machines He stated that he would like to demonstrate TD -20 Crawler tractor with dozer & C C U It was suggested that this be held on Vednesday the 21st with exact time and location to be decided 1'r. Ted Paquette reported that the machinery is all working, and that they will be moving to the Trochu Park area morning to commence work there. AIJ Gimbel then left the meeting while Mr Walter Martin was intery ewed Mn Walter T!iartin met Council regarding the notice sent to hira fon termination of his employment He stated that he was off on Friday and Saturday as he wished to go to Calgary on private business He agreed that he had been told that he should see the _reeve lut he had not done so He was further advised that his actual work when on the fob had been quite satisfactory These matter were discussed with him briefly and he stated then that he accept d the notice as given Mr Gimbel again met briefly with Council and was advised of the discussion with lalter I ,1Iartin.
