COUNCIL MEETING SEPT. 9, 1963 rage 3 A lotter was read from Mr Don deFrece in which he stated hat he had heard from a seismic worker that there might b a supply of gravel near NE corner of 9_0- 31- X22-1+; he had o personal information to offer Mr. Church moved that th road comm. and lvlr Loosmore have authority to investigate this further and to have test holes or other such wo k carried out. Carried Council was advised by the Sec. -Treas that test holes had been dug by Jassman Pl- a.mbing to test for gravel in the water run in N2- 10- 31 -21 -4, dust southerly from the Morrin ferry 1 cation A Comm of Council had first looked at the site and authorized the testing. Arnold Boese, of Linden Contractors, had also been there when the test holes were dug It would appear that a good quality of gravel could be obtaine with very minor strippa_ng, Phillip rock had agreed to sell the gravel at 10¢ c y., a good stockpile location was available just north of the Morrin road on the flat. 1N;r Campbell moved that Linden Contractors be authorized to crush gavel at this site up to 10,000 c y at a price of 56¢ c.y for 7/8 crush; that required amounts be put on roads i. � Div 5, and the balance stockpiled. A circular was read from the Dept. of Highways re the 1964 proposed 1964 Contingency Grant, it was specially noted Conti envy J that it may be used to regravel previous Contingency Grant Grant projects It was then ordered tabled until a later meeting. Church moved that the Bridge Branch be requested to Culvert supply a Government culvert for W/SW- 16- 28 -20 -4 this year so request ,/that it can be installed together with the other work on the TayloriSlding road Carried. A letter from the District Engineer, Dept of Highways, STOP Calgary, advised that STOP signs have been ordered as signs v requested for -the junction with # 26 highway NW of Carbon Trocb A letter from Ferguson and Ferguson on behalf of the annex.
