so as to ct, as Returning Officer in the coming Provincial
Election this had previously been prorlised to hir. The Council
gravel agreed that the local Councillor would arrange to have the nec-
ehecke f essary ch cki_n_g done, that the gravel crew do the work at the
Larson co ner and that they should then haul fron the crusher
at the Re for Pit.

Mr. Peters stated that some residents of lorrington had
contacted hir_1 regarding the possibility of a water and sewage
system foi that Har_ilet 9 particularly in view of the fact that it
slight be jossible to have soi_le houses built there in connection
with the IroposeC, gas Plant. This would involve water wells,
storage t nk, pressure systerl, fire hydrants, sewage disposal
lagoon or other system, etc No engineers record of cost was
avaslable but it was estimated that the minimum cost would be
;$1009000 It was suggested tha 1'ir Peters discuss this further
with the interested parties in �orrington and then bring back a
recomi_lend tion as to whether or not an Engineer should be asked
to get co Et estimates
The requisition frorl the Three Hills School Division for the

Rural representatives of the F U A who had organized and secured the
Fire petitions in respect to Rural Fire Protection adjacent to Three
Prot Hills. 7hey reco.-u_lendod that the following area be set up and
that a Mill Rate charge be glade against the area concerned for
Rural Fire Protection, namely,
The Harslet of Linden,
The northerly 2 miles of Twps 309 Ranges 219229239249 & 259
All of Twp. 31, in Ranges 21922,239249 and 25,
Tie south 4 miles of Twp 32, Ranges 21,229 and 23,
All of Twp 32, Ranges 24 and 25,
This was discussed briefly by Council and the reap was
shown with the colored quarters as petitioned. Mr. Peters noved
that the above descreibed aroa be set up as the Rural Tire
Protection Boundary for 1963, and that the tax of 2 mills be
levied accordingly. Carriod
A letter from the Provincial Dept of - AighwaYs advised
Road that the 1963 Road Grant for general-purposes is r+`? 9391 00 The
Granb projects to be included in the 1963 �"_Oad Grant Agreement were then
p drafted 'n detail. Mr. Campbell moved that this District apply
d for the 1963 Road Grant for the projects as listed on the sheet
accompanTing these minutes Carried.

Dist Mr. tiJri Higgins, Assistant District Engineer9 of Red Deer,
Engine r met with Council. i "r H J Gimbel, foreman, was also present
while matters pertaining to the road grading program were discussed
11lr. Higgins advised that they are trying to nake some minor grade
changes for the Taylor Biding road so as to reduce the amount of
work required, but they do not have a corlpletod report to date

and sewage system for Grantville and related matters were discussed
briefly, ilr G G. King, Secretary- Treasurer, reported that he had
intervi wed various departments in Edmonton and that Mr Ian Morris
Solicit r to the Dept of Lunicipal Affairs, had agreed to send a
letter butlining provisions of the Act, necessity for voting, etc
but same had not been received to date He further advised that
the money for the project would likely be available from the Alta
Municipal Financing Corporation if all required procedure is
properlT followed. It I.iight be possible to obtain an order from
the Department of Public Health directing that water and sewage

letter from the Prairie Bible Institute advised that

District Assume control of it Mr. Boese moved that a letter be
written t the Department of Water Resources with a copy to the
v P F.R A dvising tb.at the dam needs some repairs and giving

The lecretary was also asked to check regarding titles to the
lands par ly flooded by the dam referred to above.
Council was advised that Linden Contractors had asked if they
could get from 500 to 1000 cu. yds of 3/4" crushed gravel from
our 1"unic pal Pit, this gravel to be sold by there to the Town of
Three nil s. Mr. Loosrore moved that this be approved on condition
that Linden (Iontractors replace it by an equal number of cu. yds.
at the Rector Pit, plus 20¢ per cu yds for stripping and the
gravel, or that Linden Contractors pay us the crushing cost plus
20¢ per CI,L. yd for the stripping and gravel Carried

Mr. Donald Dau gave Council the water and sewerage rates
which ara being charged to the School Division from other locations
as folio s.
1. Three Bills - First 4000 gallons C, $1.05 per M, over
that 75¢ per M.
2 Tro hu - First 4000 gallons cost $3. and 75¢ per M over
that.
3. Acme - 6000 gallons cost $5.50, next 10,000 C $1.00 per M
and over 16,000 C 750 per M.
4. Carbon - The minimum is $3 50 and it averages approx.31.18
per M
Mr. Dau further advised that the Board would be willing to pay
a $25.00 a month minimum charge for water at Linden.
Mr. Brown ir.oved that the report of Mr Dau as given above be
adopted and referred to the committee in regard to the Linden
water works. Carried
Mr Campbell reported that he had not been able to contact G.
E. Post 11 regarding the lease of lands required for the park area
east of Trouhu, but that he hoped to see him soon.
Mr. Brown moved that Mr Leroy Fischer be appointed as
pound k eper with pound location on the 5E- 17- 29 -26 -4 in place of
r his fatter Emil Fischer as the latter had retired from the farm,
and that all Pound notices be posted at the Pound and at the
Bulletir, Board in the Village of Acme Carried.
Mr, H J Gimbel, road foreman, met briefly with Council and
discuss d his grading program He has been making good progress
on the grading work in Div. 5 and has finished the Lyster- Sarcee
Butte road, almost finished the two miles by Thomas', and is now
working on the last projects of that Division. He advised that
a sandy, clay knoll had been found at Doug Lyster's and a sirlilar
one at Joe Frolek's and he recommended that Agreements be made for
each of these as the material from them is very suitable for
road topping
Mr Peters moved that the committee be authorized to pay from
$50 00 to 3100.00 for Borrow Pit if 1000 cu yds or more can be
obtained from each Carried

H J Gimbel then left the meeting and returned to work
Mr Pray Helm and Mr. C Carter on behalf of residents of
Torringt n then r_Zet with Council and presented a petition asking
that the Council consider provision of a _VTator and sewerage

Strong, Larib and Nelson, Consulting Engineers, stating that that
firrl would give a cost estimate and other information without
