meeting of Dec 11th & 16th, 1961, as per copy mailed to each
councillor Carried.
Thep eliminary monthly statement for the month ending
Dec 31/61 was presented as per copy with these minutes. This
t showed ant balance at the end of the month of 11p243,073 4.6
but the December accounts authorized paid at this meeting wi11_
be added t the 1961 disbursements and deducted from the net balance
for the en4 of the year 1961 Mr Boese moved that this state-
ment be ad pted Carried.
Finances were discussed briefly and the corn. re the new
office gavE a report of its costs to date and the estimated total
cost The Sec - Treas. estimated that the gross cost of the new
office building would be close to 4�'65,000. Furniture and any
landscapin would be in addition to this.
Corre4pondence was read as per the agenda with these minutes
Irr P ters moved that Council approve of the new Canadian
Utility Po er line south of Secs 2, 3, 4 and Pt. 5- 32- 24 -11- as
per their Jap, subject to the following:
es 1. '_1k,e line may be located 47 --ft. from the centre line of
the road (2 ft. on new road allowance width)
2. I it later becomes necessary to move this line the costs
shall be p id by Canadian Utilities Ltd.

A letter from the Dept. of Public Welfare advised that
I.1r. R. Doe ing, of Torrington, will receive Govt Social Allow-
ance commeILCing this month so he should not require further
Municipal assistance.
The S c. -Treas gxz gave the following welfare reports as
received verbally from the P rov. Welfare Officer, Drumheller
Meta ,Scheu ert - will likely receive a Govt allowance to pay
for dungs, etc
Mrs. Yard, Sr - Dr. ",.y, of Trochu, is to discontinue the drugs
on a trial basis.
1�1rs Rasmussen - may qualify for Govt Social Allowance
A'Ir. & Mrs. LI Powers - may qualify for medical cards, etc later
I.1r F. Gur ey - did not answer to repeated knocking at his door
The S c. -Treas also reported that the Welfare Officer, Hanna,
had phoned to advise that Ivan Valente is medically unable to
work and t at he and his family will require assistance The said

Suppressiom contract for 1962 on the same area as contracted for

of 140 ave age per acre. They asked that the plebiscite be held
on Monday, March 5th The Sec - Treas. suggested that Council
consider deleting the hamlets entirely as they now pay on land
only and their tax, in his opinion, would, hardly justify granting
them a vote on the proposed By -Law. No decision was made

Council pa ;x35.00 for insurance on the TS -14 while it was under
rental - hit Council will cancel the balance of that account

Jan 9th/62 at 7.30 P.1. to answer questions regarding that
hamlet beco ing a Village and to further discuss matters in that
connection. I.r. Loosmore moved that it Peters, Schmelke, and
King attend as representatives of this District. Carried.
11r Alvin Gaetz had left word at the office e that there is

referred to Council IIr. Peters moved that information be
obtained as to ownership, etc , and referred back to Council at
a later meeting. Carried
