Hr. Loosmore was a little late for the meeting due to

The financial statement for the month ending 'trove -:fiber
30th 1961, was presented a per copy with these minutes This
Showed a net balance of ;301,528.40 at the end of the ;:Month Mr
Schmelke :moved that this be adopted Carried.
A letter was read from the Department of Municipal
Affairs dated 'November 23, 1961 giving its opinions in respect to
Pound danage claims. The claim of I,,Tr Ralph Loos^qore as placed
through ur Poundkeeper for 4".696.00 damages in respect to cattle
owned by I;r. S. Schmidt was considered bzr Council and discussed
in furth r detail I�ar Peters fnoved that the Council fix the
'amount o ,x'427.50 as the da cages that must be paid by I11r. S
Schmidt, or, %rner of the animals, this being in agreement with the
reco:-:,men ation of the committee of the Council. Carried
The secretary - Treasurer gave a r eoort of collections
on taxes to the end of hovevnber and advised Council that `;4",927,041 92
had been collected this year and discounts were '' 6,667 78 that
had been allowed The total levy was `'970.2_67.61 Taxes out -
standing at the end of this year would be slightly less than at
the star :)f the year

be advised that Council will approve of road allowance lease -2.295
to Lowens, as it is a renewal of an old lease; but that Council
does not agree to any change in its policy of refusing concert to
any new application for road allowance leases Carried

of .�.,a�.�nds nd Forests, be advised that the next meeting of Council
will on nary 8, 1962 and that he may meet with t'ger if he so
desires
Mr Church reported that he had a verbal offer of ;)100 00
for the Whittaker house near Deynon. Kr Peters _,loved that Mr.
Church be authorized to complete the negotiations for '.his sale,
subject t requirements of the Tax Recovery Pict.

work which he has done for this District to date. He also asked
for Council's opinion regarding the exact location for the s'zrvey
to be completed south of 5 - 31 - 23 - X14 ( Brodner) This was
tabled -w thout decision.
11r. Scrj elke gloved that the Christmas 1, elfare Bonuses
be )aid s authorized by the Dep.rtment of Public Welfare in the
amounts f >4.00 for each adult and $2.00 for eacla child. Carried.
The Secretary - Treasurer advised `'ouncil that Lillian
Dixon ha3 repaid this District `:';:1053.60, this being the net expense
to this )istrict of Welfare assistance to her. A letter has been
smitten o the Department of Public Welfare to see if they are
willing - cancel their grants of `- '1988.40 for her.
The claim of Donald A Merman for Workmen's Com- oensation
was discussed in detail, together with the inCyuiry of December 4,
1961 from the Board The Secretar,,T - Treasurer was instructec_ to
re -�qly an' give the information as contained in the following three
motions.
1 Mr Campbell moved that the Board be edvi sed that Mr
Donald ii 'ierman was employed by this Municipal District on the
date of is accident, Noverber 25, 1960. Carried.
