Gas- Swalwel Iunicipal District of Kneehill # 48 COUNCIL IZIEETING June 57 1961 Page 1 A regular meeting of the Council of the Ra-2:x Municipal District of Kneehill rr` 48 was held in the Municipal Office, Three Hills, on June 5/61, commenclnL,; at 9 All. of 1-lay mailed The Councillors present were: T7r. Church moved that the minutes of the meeting h, 10th7 & 24th/1961, be adopted as per copy and read by each councillor. Carried. The monthly statement for the month ending May 31, 1961, was presented and discussed as per copy with these minutes. This showed a net balance at the end of May of 861498.38, but with .735,600 owing on loans. I,r Boese moved that this be adopted. Carried Correspondence as listed in the agenda was read to the Co ncil IIr. Boese moved that the Council approve of the gas li e extension in Swalwell as per plan submitted by Canadi n Western Natural Gas Co Carried The Bridge Branch recommended that a 9' culvert be ins alled in the Ghost Pine Creek S/SW- 1- 35 -24 -4 instead Winther of a bridge - to effect a saving of $8,460. and to obtain Culvert better grade lines After discussion, 14r. Scl 'Lmelke moved that the recommendation be accepted Carried. Mr Campbell moved that Council approve of the Can Ut extension of the Canadian Utility line to serve Madu in 1,11a du NE-26--4-23-4. Carried 1�1r . Boese moved that Council approve of the Can. Ut. extension o -'L-' the Canadian Utility line to serve Xaund Maund v in NE-?-29-23-4 Carried. I,1r. T. Paquette, foreman, met with Council and discus ed progress in his grading work, etc. 11r. Brown moved that the Council authorize machine 3 Hills Park Y work at the Three Hills :Sall Park when convenient and that one-half the regular rate be charged Carried. I =Ir, .- Schmelke moved that the car damage claim of McArthur ✓ Jack 11cArthur be referred to the insurance company Carried. Claim ITr. Schmelke moved that Oris Rodger be hired to work with the north crew, and that he be in charge of one Oris Rodger of the machines after he has worked 200 hrs. Carried ' T. Paquette reported that lir Erickson is not able to satisfactorily work with the road crew. 11r. Peters moved Erickson V that Mr. Erickson be advised that there is no further work available for him. R. for exemption from maintaining right -of -way fences from 11ile 10.5 to I•Iile 12 0 Acme Subdivision, east side - this being where our road runs adjacent to the railtira north of Sunnyslope. Carried Park grants were again discussed 11r Brown moved that the Drumheller Health Unit be requested to take water sample from Keiver's Lake and to obtain a report of same for re erence to our Council Carried. nr Church moved that no further action be taken regarding a I!unicipal pitrk or parks until more information is ava lable. Carried i,Ir Peters moved that the old road diversion in SW -31- 2 -26 -4 and SE- 36- 32 -27 -4 be cancelled and the land return id to the original quarters. (Morley) Carried The road committee reported that they had investigated re access to 1,E-26-32-10_7-1+ - there is a fairly good access from the south; opening a road from the north would be very c stly and not warranted. Ir Peters moved that Lloyd 1Iolend k be advised that the Council will not take any action in respect to roads serving NE- 26- 32 -27 -4 this year Carried. Jack Stewart met briefly with Council re fire trucks, extinguishers, etc Nr Ed Ehrman Sr. met with Council. He stated that he is not willing to sell this District the whole of the aT E -!- 6- 32 -2.6 -4 for $10,000 , but that he will sell 20 acres at 820C per acre He then retired from the meeting while this wals discussed nr Peters moved that kir Ehrman be offerred $ 117000 cash for the whole of the N.E..r- 16- 32 -26 -4, and that he be entitled to this year's crop and granted permission to move off all the buildings. Carried. 1,1r. Ehrman again met with Council and stated that both hel and his wife will accent the above offer. An application from Donald Reston for work with the road c ew of this District was ordered filed as there is now no vacancy.
