Carried The monthly statement for the month ending Apr. 30/611 was pre ented and discussed as per copy with the minutes This sh wed a net balance at the end of April of >23,373.47. lr Boese moved that it be adopted Carried , r. 11 J Gimbel, road foreman, met briefly with the Council and discussed progress in t he road work, etc . Air iii J Hanson, Asst. Sec. -Treas , presented the payshee s and general accounts for consideration. Hr Campbell moved Uiat the account of Dr Ralph Hay re Ivan Valente be tabled or investigation by Kr. Loosmore, and that all others be pass :)d for payment as per list with these minutes Carried I,r T Paquette, foreman, met with the Council and reportel that the Adams lotor Patrol is being checked in our Shop to find why it is losing so much oil The "blower" may be to b ame as the oil seals may be leaking- -this will be sent to Calgary to be checked. Council was advised that Ernest Campbell_ had left our emp oy as operator of the Motor Grader in Div 6, Ray Eh.r.an was now operating that machine; Leonard Adams had als left our employ from the north crew, Andrew Paquett is now working with the north crew, the crew is thus st 11 short one man The application of Gary Bell and tho e of previous applicants were reviewed. l,r Loo more moved that B. Loosmore reported that he had attended a special meeting of the Board of Three :dills School Division on May 6th The requisition will likely be 11 mills on the equaliz d assessment, the Dept. is not paying teacherage debentures, salaries are still being negotiated with the teacher 3. General terms of the 1961 road grant application were reviewed, and the Resource Road grant of $10,00 . was discussed Ir Schmelke moved that the agreement for the Resource Road grant be accepted and that the Reeve and Sec. - Treas. be authorized to sign same Carried. I�r. Peters moved that the insurance policy for the nem Euclid be accepted as submitted through the ,lta Association of I111unicipal Districts for a 3 yr. period, and that the premium be paid. Carried. !,'r. Schmelke moved that Canadian Utilities be s given _ermission to maintain its line on the road allowance South 8- 34 -23 -4 (roving it back one rod only), but that they be advised that this is not to be considered a precedent. Carried. IIr Brown moved that Gallelli & Sons be granted permis ion to move with an overload from the Acme cemetery north to the Linden Gravel pit, on condition that this be done w'en the road is reasonably dry. Carried Council agreed that load limit signs should be posted for th steel bridge west of Linden at S/SW- 30- 30 -25 -4 IIr Brown moved that Hudsons Bay Gas & Oil Co. be permitted to cross road allowances with an oil pipeline in the j.il borne area as per map submitted, on condition that a comet of S. C Schmelke and G G. King first inspect the oropos d crossings and outline extra depth or other changes to their engineer. Carried. '1r. Peters reported that they had met with the Council of the Town of Three -fills and had further discussed the annexation plans with them, estimated cost of water and sewage to Grantville is 2; ?1' 0,000.. The annexation proposa s were then discussed further by this meeting 1r. Peters moved that a delegation from Grantville be asked to meet our Council rued. forenoon and that a delegation from the Town Council be invited to meet our Council during that afternoon. Carried. 1s Loosmmre moved that the Trochu 1.1ifle and Pistol Association be advised that their request re a rifle range will be further considered when plans for the use of the Park gr .nt are more definite. Mr. Schmelke moved that the Municipal District buy an extr one rod strip of land on both sides of the road between Secs 24 & 25- 33 -24 -4, and that the Trochu lvtutual Telepho e Co. be advised that their new phone line should be set oack one rod. Carried. Plans of proposed subdivisions as submitted through tree Tow and Rural Planning office were. referred to Council I-r. Peters moved that the Council approve of the issuance of a title to S2 of SW-32-31-25-4 to Joseph Nicholaus. Carried. 1r Pelrs moved that the Council approve of the issuance of a title to E'- of SE- 31- 31 -25 -4 to Charles F Nicholaus. Carried. Kr. Pet rs moved that the Council approve of the subdivision of Lot Blk. 1 4617 FN (Grantville) into the Westerly 88 ft. for one owner and the balance for another owner. Hazelton, of Linden Contractors, met wit Council regarding further gravel work; they also asked if they could borrow enough crushed gravel from the P J Rock stockpile for the new 'Morrin west hill, said gravel upply to be replaced later -- Council approved of this without motion. The said contractors are invited to meet Co ncil on led at 4:30 PM 2&2 discuss any further gravel work. I'r Schmelke moved 1st Reading to Ly -Law # 352, this being a By -Law to borrow up to a total of ;x300,000., with borrowing to be divided between the Royal Bank and Treasury Branch, Three Hills. Church moved that Jack Barber be paid rent due to him or the gravel stockpile on his land near Sharples Carried. lr Campbell moved that welfare assistance for John H Lynch be discontinued from June 1/61, as he will then be in receipt of a Provincial pension Carried. TTr Peters reported that Alwin ''nhorn is willing to get glasses for his daughter at a maximum cost of K�35. but t,iishes to know the name and address of the Doctor he should take her to in Red Deer.
