D. of L # 48 was held in the Municipal office, Three Hills, Lng at 9.00 AIJ� on Mar. 13/61. The councillors present were: Mr. A. H. Church Div. 1 1r. R. W. Brown 3 N1r Dunc Peters 4 Mr L P Meston 5 (Reeve) Mr. S. C. Schmelke 6 Mr. C. C. Campbell 7 Mr. Noah Boese, Councillor for Div. 2, was not able ,esent due to illness. T,Ir. H. Ralph Loosmore, councillor - )r Div 5, was present throughout the meeting but took in any voting 11r. Brown moved that the minutes of the meeting of & 25th, 1961, be adopted Carried. The monthly financial statement for the month ending Feb 28/61 was pfesented as per copy with these minutes% this showed a net balance at the end of Feb. of $1387868.51. Mr. Peters moved that this statement be adopted. Carried 1,1r Brown reported that he had met with 111. Robert Clark, ,,9,A for Didsbury constituency, and had discussed the new leg'slation re school taxation Details are still to be announced 1-1r. Peters moved that the account of Ed. Patterson for coal su plied to R.D i,IcAvany be paid and the amount of 015.00 for Po U r supplied be referred back to . r. Patterson. Carried, T,ir. Peters moved that the account of Torrington Garage in the amount of $32.50 for gas oil etc. for hauling water to the Torrington skating rink be tabled and he would investigate. Carried. The shop committee reported the following from their investigations: Suggest two new scrapers be purchased to replace the 6-19C scraper at Three dills and one of the LP scrapers at Carbon. The 0 -19C scraper at Three Bills has very poor rubber also has beer repaired so often, that it cannot be reinforced anymore. The one LP scraper in Carbon has very poor rubber and is in very poor shape. The metal storage shed at the shop in Three Fulls is needed for extra storage of signs, grease, etc and suggest a new shed be built on skids for storage of grass seed. A new oil wagon should be purchased for use with the south crew. Brown moved that a letter be written to the firm of Hu tarries and Associates inviting a representative to meet our Council on Kay 8th /61 to outline their proposals regarding assessing work, but with no obligation on the part of this District. Carried. Mr Peters moved that the letter from Ferguson and Ferguson re Ehrman land be tabled until next meeting. Carried. rs Church moved that the letter from the Prairie Bible Institute regarding appointment of a constable be tabled, and that I,Tr. Peters and G G. King be a comm. to interview the P B I and bring in a report on this Carried. I.Ir G. G King, as Civil Defence Director, gave a report on the proposed application for financial assistance as drafted with the assistance of Mr Pringle, of the Calgary Office Total expenditures were estimated at $725.; the Mu icipal share would not exceed $182.; assistance for a buildi g program can be added later Nis Church moved that the ap lication be approved as submitted Carried Tit Aim Higgins, Asst.
