Mr. Peters moved that the minutes of the meeting of

Mr. W. E. Earle, of Huxley, met the Council and

stated that

Mr. Brown moved that the Government letter re the
enlargement of the Three Hills Municipal Hospital District be

The road grant agreements and other matters pertaining
thereto
were discussed
Mr. Schmelke moved that the Municipal District do
the grading work on the Natural Resource Road with its own
maclginery and that this be the next project for the north crew,
Carried.

Mr. Peters moved that a comm. of lair. Meston, Church,
and King prepare and present a brief opposing the proposed

erite Colony in the Beynon area, and that this brief

at the Public Hearing in Drumheller June 21/60.

Mr. Scbmelke moved that 14r. Campbell investigate
d of heating the pump house in Huxley and whether
would be advisable to install natural gas. Carried.
Mr. Peters moved that this District do not install
natural gas to its house on Lot 20 Blk. 2 Huxley. Carried.
Mr. Schmelke moved that Canadian Western Natural
Gas Co. be requested to locate their shut off valves in
locations that will not be in the way for road maintenance,
snowplowing, etc. Carried.
Mr. Boese moved that the Clerk of the Court be
paid the sum of $57.19 as per the Garnishee summons against
Fred Re ord; that one -half this sum be deducted from his
May /60 earnings and the balance from his June /60 earnings.
Carried.
Mr. Church moved that this District pay the accounts
of Rudolph Doering and Ivan Valente as received to date from
hospitals and doctors. Carried.
Mr. Meston moved that the grocery allowance for
Ivan Va ente and family be increased $10, per mo. as from
June l/ 0 and that Mr. Valente be advised that he is

expecte o assist awes Christie with light chores as soon
as he i able. (New rate $50. mo Lipkind's Store; $10. mo
in cash Carried.
Mr. Jack Edworthy, representative of Jubilee
Insurance, met Council briefly and discussed insurance. He
asked that he be allowed to inspect our present policies so
that he could give recommendations. Mr. Brown moved that he
be allowed to inspect our policies and that he again meet
with CoiAncil later in this meeting. Carried.
Council adjourned for dinner from 12 noon to 1 PM.
Mr. Louis Lemay met with Council and advised that
he had bought Lot 1 Blk 3 Swalwell Plan 5050 A.K., together
with th ) building thereon He plans to move the building to
his farm soon and thus requested that he be only charged
one -hal the taxes on the building for 19609 plus the fall
tax on he lot itself.
Mr. Campbell moved 1st Reading to By -Law # 329, this being a
By -Law to cancel one -half the 1960 taxes on the said building,
subject to it being moved by the end of June and subject to
the approval of the Minister. Carried unan.
Mr. Boe a moved 2nd. Reading to this By -Law. Carried unan.
Mr. Brown moved 3rd. Reading to this By -Law. Carried unan.
Mr. Howard Boles met with Council and asked that
they approve the subdivision of Blk. Y Plan 492S Trochu so
as to a low the transfer of the south 120 ft. of the said
Block to the Trochu -Three Hills Shipping Association Ltd.
Mr. Bra moved that this be approved Carried. (Mr. Boese
and Mr. Peters did not vote on this as they have an interest
in the �roperty).
Mr. Howard Boles also asked that this District rent
the pay oader to load gravel for the said Block Y. This was
verballt agreed, without motion.

Mr. H. J. Hanson, Asst. Sec.- Treas., presented the
general accounts and paysheets for consideration.
Mr. Peters moved that the account of Dr. Howard
McEwen for $131.00 re Rudolph Doering be tabled; and that
the Sec.-Treas. write to Dr. McEwen and ask the minimum
amount be will accept as fall settlement. Carried.
Mr. Peters moved that the account of M. D. of
Wheatland for $2.50 for maintaining road E- 13- 28 -22 -4 be
tabled, and that the slid District be asked if this work
was done on a private road. Carried.
The Council meeting adjourned from 2 PM to 2:20 PM
so that Ithe Court of Revision could then meet.
COURT OF REVISION
The Court of Revision met at 2 PM with the following
in attendance:
Councillors Boese, Peters, Meston, Schmelke & Campbell.
Assessor -- C. J. Christie
Clerk -- G. G. King
The appeal of Frank and Esther Baerg against the
assessment of their buildings on Pt. NE- 24- 30 -26 -4 was discussed.
Neither Frank nor Esther Baerg were present. G. G. King reported
to the Court that Frank Baerg had personally stated that he
made all his living from the acreage and poultry business,
that he ad no other employment, and that he hired casual
labor to assist him.
Mr. Schmelke moved that the present assessment be
confirmed, viz.: Land $150. bldgs. $2860 Total $3010.
Carried
The decision on the above appeal had been tabled
from April 25/60.
Mr. Meston moved that the Court of Revision adjourn.
Carried.

The Council meeting reconvened at 2 :20 PM with all
members again present.
Mr. Gottlieb Schell and Leo Biebrick met Council
and asked that this District grade roads into their farmyards
near Centres of Secs. 28 & 29- 28 -23 -4 on a rental basis.
Mr. Meston moved that this District grant Motor Patrol work
only and that they be referred to private contractors for
the other work required. Carried
Mr. Peters moved that this District charge the new
machinery rental rates effective June 15th, 1960. Carried.
Mr. Brown moved that Edward Huxley be paid at the
rate of X1.35 hr. as assistant to the Field Supervisor. LOST.

Mr. Kirkeberg, of Kirkts Agencies, Trochu, met
Council and asked to be allowed to quote on insurance if
new policies or revisions are considered.
Mr. S. Stasel, G. Maxwell, E. R. McRae, John Hogg,
and Mr. Brereton (Inspector) met Council and discussed P.F.A.
especially in respect to Secs. 21 and 29 -34 -24-4. Present
reports are conflicting as to whether or not Sec. 29 is eligible;
they stated that no check had been made of Sec. 21 after the
harvest ng was completed -- estimates had been too high -- it
should alify. Mr. Boese moved that Council request a
re -insp tion of Sec. 21 and, if necessary, also of Sec. 29,
both in 34 -24-4. Carried.
A general meeting re P. F. A. was also discussed
for tha area but Council felt that no action should be taken
on that now.

do the ordon Coulee in 12 -29 -24-4 on Thurs. next and then
continu in Divs. 1 and 2, loading with payloader from the
stockpi es.
Mr. Church moved that the Liability Insurance
Policy be increased by adding protection in respect to hired
trucks -- liability $2001000.; est. cost of hire $100,000.

Mr. Stan Bell, of Construction Equipment, met
Council. Dick Gimbel gave him a list of complaints re the
new Adams Patrol and Mr. Bell agreed to check re these

Mr. Gerry Bissell, of Concrete Products, met the
Council and outlined special services of his Company if cement
culvert4 are bought for any two miles of road. Mr, Peters
moved that he be given an order for 5'b0 t of 10" cement culverts
for delivery as follows: To R. W. Browns 2001; to hree
Hills YErd 1601, to D. Peters 1801. Carried.
Mr. Brown moved that C. E, Ruby, Field Supervisor,
be auth rized to order such supplies of aldrin as are needed
for gra shopper control -- for resale to farmers. Carried.
Mr. Doug. Hazelton, of Linden Contractors, met
Council and stated that they could crush and load gravel for
us from the Klassen pit, starting Wed. morning next; also
expects a stockpile of app. 2,000 cu. yds. after the Govt.
takes its requirements; price for 3/4" crush 65¢. Arrange-
ments were made for this work.
Mr. C. C. Campbell reported that he had located a
supply of gravel in NW- 11- 34 -25 -4.
Mr. Brown moved that the petition from Grantville
for annexation to the Town of Three Hills be referred to
the said Town for its consideration. Carried.
Mr. Brown moved that the requisition of $6,618. from
the Drumheller Health Unit be accepted, and quarterly payments
authorized. Carried.
Mr. Brown reported that the Directors of
the Hom for the Aged had met and had hired Mrs. Josie Foster
as Mat r n, Mr. Wayne Beagrie as cook, and Mrs. Winifred Dew
as gene al assistant, he also gave other general information.

through,Jubilee Insurance for $2,000. Burglary and Inside
or Outside Holdup at a premium of $72. for 3 yrs. Carried.
Mr. Schmelke moved that this District accept the
requisition of $160. from the Innisfail Hospital District but
that they be asked to have any requisition submitted not
later than May lst in future years. Carried
The Sec. - Treas. reported that Mr. John Setla had
died in Holy Cross Hospital on June 18th; arrangements
had bee made through Gooder Bros. Funeral Home for burial
service in Calgary on June 27th; estimated total cost
will be $200.00.
Mr. Brown moved that Canadian Western Gas Co. be
granted an easement for its gas line at the Huxley Nuisance
Ground and that the Reeve and Sec - Treas. be authorized to
sign the required papers.
Letter was read re P. F. A. in Secs. 21 and 29- 34- 24 -4.
New reports of Gordon Maxwell and Stanley Stasel are to be
sent in, and a further review asked for Sec. 29.
The Sec.- Treas. reported that the Board of Industrial
Relations through its Inspector had stated that hours of work
should be kept on record re cooks and office assistants.
Letter from Mrs Mary Pearson was read re Farm Purchase
Credit Act. Mr. Brown moved that the Sec.- Treas. reply and
give Council's reasons for not accepting applications. Carried.
Mr. Ted Paquette, foreman, met Council and advised
that he would like 2 - 100 lb. kegs of Cactus Gear Oil # 90.
Mr. Pet *s moved that this be ordered Carried.
Letter from Mrs. Corrigan was read re a dead sheep
on her property. Ted Paquette agreed to arrange for disposal
of this.
Ted Paquette discussed holidays for himself -- decision
re dates for this was tabled until next meeting.
Mr. Brown reported that Acme is having a Jubilee
Celebration on July 7th and inquired about this District putting
an entry in the parade. Mr. Church moved that Councillors
Brown and Boese be a comm. re this, with authority to have
a Wagner in the parade if they so desire. Carried.

Mr. Campbell reported that propane is now used for
heating the Huxley Pump House, that heat is required in cold
weather as the pressure system is in the building above ground,
and he cuggested that it might be advisable to install natural
gas. Council discussed placing the pressure system below
ground level and thus eliminate the need of heating the
building. Mr. Meston moved that the set -up be left "as is"
for the time being. Carried.
Mr. Peters moved that the Council approve of the
extensions of Canadian Utilities services as requested.
