D of 48 was held in the Municipal Office at Three Hills 3 /57, commencing at 10:00 A. M. Those present were: Mr. A. H. Church Mr Noah Boese Mr. R. W Brown Mr. Dunc Peters Mr. L. P. Meston Mr S. C. Schmelke Mr C. C. Campbell Div. 1 2 4 5 (Reeve) 6 7 Mr Brown moved that notice of meeting be waived and Council proceed to deal with any business which is before it Carried unanimously Canadian Western Natural Gas Co. had applied for approval of Council to construct a 16" gas line from the Carbon field near Sharples in a southwesterly line to serve Calgary. The system would also include smaller gathering lines, all as per map submitted. This meeting was called mainly to give consideration to this matter. Towns and villages within the Municipal District were represented at the discussion, as follows. Carbon- Mayor rorsch, Councillor Gimbel, and Sec -Tteas S. Torrance. Three Hills. Deputy -mayor Kalbfleisch, and Councillors Jacobson and Young. Acme. Sec. -Treas H McCullough i Trochu: Mayor McKee and Councillor Stankievech. by Mr Canadian Western Natural Gas Co. was represented J ;haver and Mr Provost Considerable discussion took place, particularly in respect to the following* 1 Reservation of a sufficient gas supply from the said field to supply this area. 2. Re- routing of the proposed 1611 line to bring it nearer the Towns and Villages of this area. 3. General costs involved. The representatives of the Company pointed out the following; and other general information: 1. This request has to do with approval to cross road allowances; other matters should not be considered 2. The purpose of the line is to supply peak loads for Calgary and surrounding area. 3. Proposal of this meeting to re -route the line is not practical from a cost standpoint Calgary must get the gas as cheaply as possible. 4. The Alta. Gas Conservation Board has the final say as to the use to which any field is put Briefs can be presented to it. The Bored of Public Utility Commissioners has ,oveof the price rates charged 6 Mr. Shaver stated that, if his Company gets the franchise for the said f#tyk field, then they will guarantee that a sufficient supply of gas will be there to supply the Toms and Villages within this District. This state- ment w verified by telephone conversation with Mr. B. F. Willso4, Vice - President - Operations; a letter re this was prdmis ed . 7. The Alta Gas Trunk Line may have a line passing between Equity and Three Hills and it should be practical to serve Three Hills and Trochu from this. Mr. Campbell then moved that the Council give permission to Canadian Western Natural Gas Co to construct the lines as per their map, subject to the guarantee that the Co pany will reserve a sufficient supply of gas from the ex,sting wells to serve the centres of Acme, Carbon, Three dills, and Trochu Carried. Mr. C E and informed them in the j Bang's vacs moved that Mr D Fullerland report Ruby, Field Supervisor, met the Council that Mr Ned Fuller had refused to co- operate �ination program. Mr Meston Peters discuss this personally with Mr to Mr Ruby. Carried. Mr. Brown moved that, if %ir Ned Fuller does not then agree to have his calves vaccinated, "Ir Ruby take the necessary action. Carried Mr. Peters moved that the lands subject to 1955 Tax No ;ification be offered for sale by public auction at the Muiicipal Office, Three Hills, on Larch 10, 1958, cowmen ing at 2 P M ; all as per the requirements of the Tax Re overy Act. Carried dr. Brown moved that any cheque paid for settlement of arrears of taxes on lands in the Tax Sale must be certified. Carried. Mr. Peters moved that approval be given to Canadian Utilities for service extensions as per their two maps. Carried. A letter was read from Ferguson and Ferguson re account of Mr Ed Sigmund. Mr. Schmelke moved that Mr. Ferguson be notified that the account must be paid or the large culvert will be removed Carried. the Mr Peters moved that this meeting adjourn. Carried. Reeve Sec -Treas I
