Iir Peters moved that the minutes of the meeting
01 1956, be approved Carried
The monthly statement for December, 1956, as included
with these minutes was presented and discussed; this showed a
net balance of $117,657.01. Yr. Church moved that the monthly
statement be adopted. Carried.
Correspondence was read as per the agenda included
with the e minutes.
Yr Church moved that the Council approve of the
Transfer to F H Stockton of the following lands, subject
to existLng Tax Notifications: N? -27, S�� -34; L.S.D. 12 and
13 of Se,-. 34, all in 28 -20 -4. Carried
Yr Brown moved that the following plans of road
diversions be cancelled and the land returned to the parcel
from which it came.

Motion carried.
Ivir Boese moved that payments be made for extra land
required for the Grainger South road as per the list submitted,
and that a letter be sent to Pete Kanderka giving him details
of the p yment to him. Carried.
Mr. Church reported that he had attended the annual
meeting f the Rosebud Seed Cleaning Plant and that everything
seemed 0. K.
The request of the Swalwell F.U.A. for a public meeting
to discuss a Seed Cleaning Plant in this area was considered,
and it was suggested that the necessary arrangements be made
by the Field Supervisor Yr Brown agreed to attend the next
meeting of the Swalwell F.U.A. to give them some particulars.

Mr. Ruby (Field Supervisor), and Y'r. S. Pettem (D.A )
met the Council. The minutes of the last meeting of the
Agricultural Service Board were read and Mr Ruby read
his report of 1956 actit -(ties IIIr Peters moved that these
be adopted. Carried
Mr Boese moved that $10.00 be deducted from the
earning of Gordon Hunt and paid to the Receiver General
for inc e tax as demanded. Carried
Ivir. Brown moved that this District accept the proposal
of the Calgary Rural Municipal Hospital District for hospital
services to indigents of its area and that $14.00 be now paid
to the said Hospital District as I ,,Iary Haffner was our only
indigent in 1956 in this area. Carried.
The report of Ferguson and Ferguson regarding minimum
tax Coll ctions was read and discussed. Mr. Boese moved that
further action be taken to collect from the following.
Clarence Doerksen, Ed Fournier, Albert Gehring, B L. Hanses,
Emil Kle ke, Lee P�acGougan (part only), and Earl Zeigler, and
that the account for $68.00 be paid to Ferguson and Ferguson.
Carried.
The Council adjourned for dinner from 12 noon to 1 P.Ij2.
I,Ir. Alex Haller met the Council and discussed the
need for a larger culvert S/SVI- 13- 33 -23 -4, about 300' east of
the quarter mile line. Council agreed to have levels taken and
to meet Mr Haller at the site during the spring road tour; and
that the foreman inspect this at high water, if possible
Mr. Herb Feidler, of Waterous Equipment, met the
(Council d reported that Gerry Robinson is now Sales I:ianager
at Calgary He asked that his Company be allowed to demonstrate
machinery in the spring.
Ivir C. Smith, of Costello Equipment, met briefly with
the Coune'1
Yr Ron Ainsworth, of Ferguson Supply, met the Council
and stated that he would like to show a one hour film to the
Council at the next meeting. It was agreed that this be shown
at 11 A.Li. on Feb 11th, 1957 Carried
A delegation of H Parry, uYm. Burns, A. F. Helton,
Parry, ; A. H. (McAdam, Vim. Richardson, A. Stickel, and Walter
tankieve h met the Council and protested inclusion in the
ail Suppression area of the north 4 miles of Township 31 in
anges 24 25, and 26 They requested that the Sec -Treas write

Mr. Gimbel reported that a Service it ;an from Union
Tractor would be at Carbon tomorrow to service the new D -8
He also stated that he needed a vise and some small tools
for the Carbon Shop - -this was referred to Er Church
I;Ir Hogg reported that the snow plow and wing from
the AD-4. would be on the Super 991v1 tomorrow. He suggested
getting a propane block heater for this machine and it was
agreed that a propane block heater now at the Carbon shop be
used, if possible.
MIr. Campbell moved that the account of Henry Weigum
for fence repairs be tabled for further investigation
Carried.
Yr. Boese moved that the Council at its regular
meeting on Feb. 11, 1957, consider passing a By -Law to
permanently close the road allowance South of 28- 33 -23 -4,
and that notices of its intention to do so be advertised as
required under Section 247 of the 1,1'unicipal Districts Act.
Carried.
Yr Brown moved that the Council approve of the
Transfer from Aaron i4egli to Herman Toews of the following.
Southerly 30 ft. of Lot 5 and all of Lot 6 in Block 5,
Plan Linden 1364 G V Carried
Yr. Schmelke moved that Mr. Campbell be authorized
to arran e for the necessary wiring in our Municipal house
at Huxle which is now occupied by Mrs. Rasmussen. Carried.
1,rir. W. R. Conner, of W R D C , met the Council for
a prelilis nary discussion of a contract for Hail Suppression
under o By-Law # 249 Yr Jas T Bisho was also present
during discussion Yr. Conner suggest kg an opening date
of betvie4n June 15th and 20th, and that payments be made in
5 equal Monthly installments comznencing I,Iay 25th.
Mr. Boese moved that the Reeve and Sec -Trews be
authoriz d to meet with a committee from the 11. D. of Ivlt View;
and to sign a contract with W.H.D.C. with the starting date
for prof ction to be not later than June 207 1957. Carried.
Mr. J. T. Bishop presented a letter from the Sarcee
(local of the F. U. A. supporting the request for a public
meeting o discuss a Seed Cleaning Plant

Mr. Christie, as Assessor, met with the Council
matters pertaining to the new assessment -- with
reference to the fact that nearly all areas are
bus routes and that these change yearly
and
now
Mr. Peters moved that a flat 2% addition be made on
all farm lands in lieu of school or bus advantage; with the
exception of those bordering towns, villages, and hamlets,
where tho additions for school and market advantage shall
remain a per the 1955 revised assessment manual. Carried.
Mr. Church moved that the Reeve and Sec -Treas be
authoriz d to hire a stenographer to work in the office.
Carried.
Mr. Brown moved that the revised Tax Sale list as
included with these minutes be accepted and that other terms
remain a per the minutes of Dec. 10, 1956. Carried.
The Sec. -Treas reported that John E. Moran requested
$12.15 discount on 1956 taxes on N?;- 22- 34 -25 -4 as he claimed
that he had not received the tax notice Records indicated the
notice was mailed to him June 26/56; tax payment was made
on Dec. 18/56. Mr. Brown moved that he be advised that no
discount can be allowed Carried
Mr. Peters moved that the insurance policy with the
Indemnity Marine Insurance Co. be amended by deleting the
TD -18A which had been traded off and by adding the new D -8
to an insared value of $25,000 Carried.
Mr. Brown moved that the Sec. - Treas. write to
m MI Walker , Box 460, Drumheller, and ask him to renew the
on-ratepayer Hospital Contract with the Drumheller Municipal
ospital District. Carried
T:Ir Peters moved that the Sec. - Treas. write to Otto
etz rega ding his account for the "Beiseker" gravel pit and
he balance owing for gravel. Carried.
