The Council of the Llunicipal District of Kneehill # 48
met in �egular meeting in the Iiunicipal Office, Three Hills, on
Dec. 10' 1956, commencing at 9.15 A. lal.
Those present were.

I I:r. Boese moved that the minutes of the meeting of
Nov. 13 h and 17th, 1956, be approved Carried.
The monthly statement for Nov., 1956, as included
with these minutes was presented and discussed. This showed
a net balance of $137,898 43, with no loans outstanding
L1r. Peters moved that the monthly statement be adopted Carried.
Correspondence was read as per the agenda included
with these m2_nutes
Mr Church moved that a year subscription at $3.00
be paid for the Civic Administration Magazine for the office.

The Sec - Treas. was requested to get each councillor
a copy of the Government circular 111955 Comparison of Grants
and Taxes to Iriill Rates in Rural Municipalities"
Mr. Broom moved that this Council approve of the
proposal of the Innisfail Municipal Hospital District as to
the boun aries of the wards within its District Carried.
I1r. Peters moved that the Council withhold approval
of a tr sfer of certain lands to F. H. Stockton subject to
a Tax No ification; and that his solicitors be asked to
arrange for the payment of the taxes, if possible Carried
Mr. Brown moved that 1,-Tr Sol Saper, Solicitor for
Frank A. Goerlitz, be advised that this District denies all
liability in respect to his letter of Nov. 27, 1956; that he
be given the date on which the work was completed, and that
he be ad ised that the fence was removed on a voluntary basis

Yr. Church presented a copy of the minutes of a meeting
held in rumheller of Dec 1/56 -- this being a meeting of the
Provisional Committee for a Senior Cititen's Home at Drunheller.
No action was taken on this, except that the minutes were read.

Mr Campbell moved that Geochemical Surveys of Red

motion may be left open. Shot -point # 51 on road

Mr Church moved that a committee of Ilr TvIeston,
Campbell, and rung investigate the feasibility of cancelling
the road allowance South 2 - 33 -23 -4, and disposing of same.

Idir. Schmelke moved that final approval be requested
from th Dept. of Health for the 'dimborne Cemetery; and that
a surve of plots be made in the spring. Carried
Pair. Scraelke moved that this District contact the
Wimborne Community Centre regarding sale to us of a strip of
land 551 wide along the north side of the Wimborne Cemetery;
this area to be reserved for later use as an addition to the
said Cemetery. Carried.
Pair. Schmelke moved that Canadian Utilities be informed
that acc ants for street lights will not be paid if burnt out
or broken bulbs are not replaced within a reasonable time.

Pair Peters moved that Rollin Bruneski be granted leave
of absence from Dec. 12/56 until April 15/57. Carried
NIr H. J. Hanson presented the general accounts and
paysheet .
Mr Boese moved that the general accounts be paid
as preselited. Carried
PYir Church moved that the paysheet of Vim Peters, Jr.,
be tabled for later consideration, and that the other paysheets
be passed for payment as presented and signed by a councillor.

Mr. H. J. Gimbel, road foreman, met the Council and
discussed winter repair work.

be fixed under warranty; machine has not been fully
serviced by the Company; needs one track roller

Mr Robert Hogg, road foreman, met the Council and
discussed winter repair work:

Old D -8: Transmission O.K., check master clutch, motor,

Robert Hogg was authorized to contact Lsle Lindsay of
Red Dee (Service man for the Armco Drainage Co and have him
check the torque on the new 99 Super Patrol.
Mr. Brown moved that the Snow Plow and Wing from the
AD -4 be ,ut on the new 99 Patrol, unless this is found not
practical by a com°nittee of hIr h. estop, Peters, Church, and
the two foremen Carried.
Mr. Church moved that the Council approve of the
repair w )rk on machinery as recommended by H. J Gimbel Carried.
Mr. Peters moved that the Council approve of the
repair work on machinery as recommended by Robert Hogg, less
any major repairs on the AD -4 Patrol. Carried
Mr. Camvbell moved that roadmen be granted time off
if they so desire from noon Sat. Dec. 22/56 to the morning
of tined Jan 2/57, subject to recall if needed for snowplowing.
Carried.
1r. J. Johnson, of Union Tractor, met the Council,
he was a vised that the new D -8 should be serviced under warr-
anty and he agreed to arrange for this. V;e are to advise him
when the machine is at the Carbon Shop.
Mr. Reston moved that the next Tax Sale be held at
the Municipal Office, Three Hills, on I;Ionday, March 11, 1957,
commencing at 2 P.Ivi. and that all parcels having existing 1954
Tax Noti ications be included in this sale, as per the list
included with these minutes Carried.
Mr. Boese moved that the Sec -Treas send a letter
this week to each person as assessed for the lands to be incl-
uded in the Tax Sale, notifying each of the amount required
to redeen the land Carried.
JMr Brown moved that the annual meeting of the rate-
payers b held on Iionday, Feb. 18, 1957 Carried.
Mr. Schmelke moved that the next Council meeting be
held on Monday, Jan. 7, 1957 -- one week earlier than the
regular date so that the December accounts can be considered
prior to the final audit Carried.

h+ir. Brown reported that Leon. Unruh was willing to
deduct 07.91 from his account on the paysheet submitted by him
for work at the new well in Linden, thus reducing the total
bill to $198.96 I-1r. Boese moved that the paysheet be approved
on this,basis. Carried
1 Mr Broom moved that the galvanized pipe at the Linden
well be returned to the Co -op. Store, and that arrangements
be made to sell the used lumber by auction Carried
i Yr Broom moved that the accounts re Linden Waterworks
be paid to the Linden Trading Co. and Linden Machine (forks;
and that the accounts of Crane Ltd. and Canadian Johns- 11anville
be tabl d until credits are received for goods returned.

Mr. Brown moved that the Council set $250.00 as the
water prepayment required by any person wishing a new connection
to the ater line Carried.
'Ir Reston moved that the Council approve of the sale
to Joe ubinec of some bridge timbers and posts (used) for $100.00.

R Mr. Broom moved that Mrs. Alma Friesen be granted
$142 71 relief, to be applied in full settlement of her account
to the d of 1956 for plumbing and for water at Linden.
Carried.
Mr Boese moved that the surplus of $10,000 shov;•n
in the 1956 budget be transferred to Public Works. Carried.
IMr. C. E. Ruby, Field Supervisor, met with the Council
and gavela report regarding Bang's Vaccinations, 1080 Coyote
Bait, mowing of roadsides, and other matters.
IMr. Brown moved that Nelson Wild be appointed D.R.O.
for the inden Poll in place of Fred Baerg as the latter is
not able to act -- voting on By -Law Dec. 1�/ 56 Carried.
Considerable discussion took place regarding an
account of Wm. Peters, Jr Itir. Campbell moved that the
account be paid, but later withdrew his motion.
