COUNCIL MEETING
SEPTEMBER 12, 1955
A regular meeting of the Council was held in the
Municipal Office at Three Hills, on Mon. Sept. 1R/55,
commending at 9:15 A.M. The following councillors were
present $ throughout the whole meeting:

Mr. Brown moved that the minutes of Aug. 8/55 be
approved. Carried.

I Mr. Church moved that the monthly statement be
approved Carried
Correspondence was then read as per the Agenda
formin a part of these minutes

Mr. Peters moved that the delegates to the Fall
Municipal District Convention be all Councillors and
G. G. King (Sec - Treas.), and that each be allowed $50.00
for expenses. Carried. (Convention Nov. 16, 17, & 18/55)
Mr. Peters moved that the dues of $180.00 be paid
to the Alta. Association of Municipal Districts Carried
Mr Peters moved that the Council approve of the
transfer of app. 4 acres of NW- 6- 32 -23 -4 from the Prairie
Bible I stitute to The Worldwide Evangelization Crusade
(Canada, being the South 198.0 feet of the North 610.5
feet of the West 880 0 feet Carried.
Mr. Peters moved that the Council approve of the
transfer from Peter Warkentin to Paul Weigum of a portion
of SE-13-31-26-4. being East 75 0 feet of the West 418.0
feet of the south 209 0 feet Carried
Mr Church moved that the Council approve of the
plan of survey of 5 acres in SW- 18- 29 -22 -4 (Ben Fox), as
submitt d by Mr McCutcheon, surveyor Carried.
1 Mr. Schmelke moved that Mr. G King check regarding
the residence of Archie Lois Whitford and that he then write
to the Calgary General Hospital in this respect. Carried

Mr Campbell moved that the Director, Prairie Farm
Assist&nce, be advised that no area of this District will
qualif3 for 1955 P. F. A. payments, and that the estimated
wheat 3ields be given as approximately: Div. 1 -- 20;
Div 2 -- 20; Div 3 -- 20; Div 4 -- 18; Div 5 -- 25;
Div. 6 -- 20, Div. 7 -- 25. Carried.
Mr Church moved that 1st. reading be given to
By -law,# 223 to pay a grant of $200.00 to Drumheller
Agricultural Society. Carried.unan.
Mr. Meston moved 2nd. reading. Carried unan.
Mr Brown moved 3rd reading Carried unan
Mr. Schmelke moved that $34.17 be deducted
from the August wages of John Esau and that this be remitted
to the Income Tax office as per its demand Carried
Mr. Meston kbhved that the damage claim submitted
by Ferguson and Ferguson on behalf of Kenneth Robert Kane
(deceased) and Robert Leslie Kane in the amount of $5,448.85
be referred to our Insurance Co. and that they be notified
accordingly. Carried.
Mr. Peters moved that Mr. Schmelke have authority
to have a road approach made to the site of the new
school near Wimborne Carried
Mr. Schmelke moved that the Secretary write to the
Dept Of Municipal Affairs regarding the proposed transfer
to this District of Ei- 1- 33 -27 -4, and to state the following:
1. This Histrict does not oppose the suggested
Transfeir
2 This District still strongly recommends that
the boundary be established as recommended by the Commission
in 33-427-4.
3. If # 2 cannot be followed, then at least all
of Sections 1, 12, and 13-33-27 -4 should be transferred to
this District.

Mr. Hanson presented the paysheets for consideration
Moved by Mr Campbell that the paysheets as signed by the
councillors be passed for payment. Carried.
Mr. Church moved that Earl XziL „. Fraser be paid
for 12 days work at $6 00 per day, in connection with
watchi g gates, etc , while gravel work was being done from
the St and pit. Carried.
Mr Peters moved that the meeting adjourn for
dinner from 12:10 to 1 P.M. Carried.

Mr. Meston moved that the Shop Comm. arrange for
outside electrical outlets at the Three Hills Shop Carried
Mr. Church moved that all gravel accounts be paid
at 10¢ cu yd , except C. V. Elvins which is to be paid
at 45¢ rcu. yd., and that C. V. Elvin be paid a further
sum of !$5.00 for wages paid by him to a Holland boy

Mr. Meston moved that all correspondence not other-
wise dOalt with be filed for later reference. Carried.
Mr Boese moved that the District Engineer be
reques ed to have the 2 miles W. 1 & 12- 34 -25 -4 gravelled
under the Contingency Grant, if possible Carried

Mr Peters moved that B & T Contractors be authorized
to stockpile 500 cu. yds. crushed gravel 111 size at each of
the following: Municipal pit in 5E- 16- 32 -26 -4
River stockpile in Ei- 10- 31 -21 -4 (Morrin ferry)
Mr. Peters moved that the following mile be added to
the 1955 gravel program: South 30- 32 -25 -4 Carried
Mr R. Dick, of Concrete Products, met the Council.
Mr Schmelke moved an order be placed with him for 150 ft.
of 10" cement culverts for Div. 6. Carried.

Mr R. Ainsworth, of Ferguson Supply, met the council

I Mr C. E. Ruby gave a report of his work as Field
Supervisor and the minutes of the :Agricultural Service
Board meeting of Aug 10/55 were read Mr Boese moved
that these minutes be approved. Carried.
Mr Schmelke moved that the Council approve of the
hiring of Alex. Bremner as cook for the North crew as from
Aug 10/551 with wages at $225.00 per month Carried.
Mr Boese moved that Kirby Catage Co. of Hanna be
contac ed regarding his tender for the stream diversion in
NE -34 end NW- 35- 29 -26 -4 Carried.
An offer from John E. Johnson, of Huxley, to purchase
Lot 20 Blk. 9 Huxley for $25 cash was considered
Mr. Campbell moved that 1st reading be given to
By -law # 222 to sell Lot 20 Block 9 Huxley Plan 6680 A.P.
to Joh E. Johnson for $G25 cash. Carried.unan.

Mr. Boese suggested that the Council consider
selling the house located on Lots 40 & 41 Blk 3 Swalwell
