Mr. Schmaltz moved that the taxes on Vi-26-29-23-4 be
re -ins ted and the penalty added as the cheque given by
Mr. D. . Kaiser is still N. S. F. Carried.
Mrs Sadie Hanses met the Council and discussed the
Seed Liens filed against the SE -10 and NW -111 both in 30 -24-4.
Mr. Campbell moved that the Liens be released and the accounts
cancelled. Carried

Mr Meston moved that the Board of Industrial Relations
be notified that 11m. Howell was dismissed from service Nov. 9/53;
that he had worked for this District since the spring of 1944;
and that he was given full pay from the date of dismissal to the
end of 3953. Carried.
Mr. Schmaltz moved that the Council consent to the
application of the C N. R. for exemption from the duty to
maintair fences at 8 locations in this District where the
road pa allells the RAilway and is adjacent thereto. Carried
Mr. Schmaltz moved that Brownlee & Brownlee be given
full pa iculars re the Comet Dri3lLng Co. and that they be
asked to protect the interests of this District. Carried.

The letter re Mrs. Nellie hart was discussed.

Mr Meston moved that the necessary arrangements be
the securing and placing of a culvert South 28- 32 -23 -4.
Carried.
Mr. Ohlhauser moved that Messrs. Meston, Campbell,
meet the owner of 5E- 28- 32 -23 -4 (John Hannu, Sr.) to
arrangements required for the previous motion. Carrd.
Mr. Ohlhauser moved that Robertson, Anderson & Co
der be appointed auditors for 1954 at a fee of $675.00.
Carried.
Mr. Schmelke moved that Mr. Tom Jones be advised that
the Dist ict will not be hiring any contractor to build a
trailer. Carried.
Mr. Schmaltz moved that Mr. Jake Enns be advised to
contact he Calgary Rural Municipal Hospital District about
his acco t. Carried
Mr. Schmaltz moved that the Public Works committee
meet rep esentatives from Sunnyslope regarding work required
on the h ll just east of Sunnyslope. Carried.
Mr. Schmaltz moved that Mr. Christie investigate
the reli f case of Mirs. Friesen; and that no further cash
relief b given before the report is considered. Carried
Mr. Schmaltz moved that the correspondence be filed.
Carried.
Yr. Belsheim, Asst. District Engineer from Red beer,
met the Council and discussed the 1954 Public Works program ,
road standards, etc., agreed to meet the Council to give
advice on any project; asked that approval be secured before
Pit Run gravel is used on any District Highway, suggested that
all grave be crushed to 1� to lilt for first coat, 1 to 1� for

After discussion, Mr. Moore was asked to raise his

A proposed Gravel Lease between this Municipal
District and George Calvert in respect to N.E.i -3- 34-22 -4 was
read to Council.
Mr. Schmaltz moved that 1st. Reading be given to
By¢Law h 193 to give effect to said Lease. Carried.
Mr. Schmelke moved 2nd Reading Carried.
Mr. Ohlhauser moved 3rd. Reading Carried.
Mr Schmaltz moved that quarterly installments on
School d Hospital Requisitions be paid as they come due.
Carried.
Mr Meston moved that the office of the M. D. of
Kneehill be the Polling Place for the election of a member
from Ward 3 to the Three Hills I.unicipal Hospital District Board.
Carried.
Mr. Campbell moved that Gordon G King be the Deputy -
Returni Officer for the said Poll, and that Mr Harold Hughes
be the P 11 Clerk Carried.
The Secretary was instructed to notify Thos. Johnston
to attend the next Council meeting to discuss a proposed lease
of road allowances
Mr. Meston moved that the relief issued to the Harold
Edwards amily be extended one month ($60 month). Carried.
Mr. Olson moved that Mr. Christie attend the Assessor's
Conventi n in Edmonton Ilar 12th & 13th, and that this District
pay his xpenses. Carried.
IV1r Schmaltz moved that the next Council meeting be
held April 3rd. and 5th, commencing at 9:30 AM each day; that
the District Engineer at Red Deer be notified; and that Road
Employees meet the Council the afternoon of the 5th. Carried.

Mr. Ohlhauser moved that the minutes of Feb. 8/54,
page 21 regarding cancelling certain arrears of taxes be
amended by deleting from the said motion the arrears of taxes
on the 'Shacks" as listed. Carried.
Mr. Schmaltz moved that a hearty vote of appreciation
be give to Mr. Olson for his years of service as Councillor.
Carried.
Yr Olson replied briefly and thanked his fellow
Council ors and office staff for the co- operation and assistance
