Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that the Municipal District offer
the value of the labor and gravel supplied in 1953 as
)ensation for driving machinery and piling gravel on

pay $100.00 per year in future when we require use of the
for gravel removal, storage and transportation. Carried.
Moved by Mr. L. P. Meston that the requisition of
the Drum ell.er Health Unit for $6,864.70 for the period from Apr 1,
1953 to Aarch 317 1954, be accepted, and paynent of same in four
equal instalments authorized. Carried.
Moved by Mr. L. P. Meston that freight bill of $4.41
due C.P. . on playground equipment be paid. Carried.
Secretary- Treasurer was instructed to notify the Public
Trustee hat we have no accurate information regarding the value of
the esta e of Louis Booth7 deceased, also to inform him that this
Municipa District paid $130.00 to The Salvation Army Home, at
Gleichen Alberta, on June 8th7 1953 for maintenance for Louis
Booth.
Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that A. J. Purvis and L. P. Meston
be autho ized to attend the Civil. Defence school in Edmonton on
Oct. 12- 77 1953. Carried.
Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that 1953 dues of X195.00 be paid
to the A Berta Association of Municipal Districts, and that the
entire C uncil, G G King and A. J. Purvis be sent as delegates
to Convention Nov. 18207 1953, and that each delegate be paid
$50.00 e pense account. Carried.
Moved by Mr Campbell that Oscar Keirle be notified that
2 acres of SE-20- 30 -25 -4 is required for nuisance ground, and that
we again request him to complete the transfer of said property.

informed that application for P.F A A. benefits has been made for

filed for reference. Carried.
Moved by Mr. J. A Ohlhauser that Council adjourn from
12.00 no n to 1 00 p.m. for dinner. Carried.

Clarence Grose, of Carbon was present, and submitted
his resi nation as motor grader operator. Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser
that Clarence Grose be paid $414.70 (gross) for labor, $53.00 for
mileage, and $90.11 for holiday bonus (40 of $21252.65), and that
he be given a favorable recommeddation. Carried.
Mr. A. C. Baerg, of Linden, was present, and asked to
be given work cutting grass and weeds on roadsides He has a
Fordson Iractor and 6 ft. mower,, and charges $4.00 per hour.
Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that Mr. A. C. Baerg be engaged to mow the
sides of important roads in the Municipal District Carried.
Mr. Deans, repre -senting Cruickshank Road Machinery Co.
was present. Moved by Mr Schmaltz that an order be placed with
this firni for culverts to be delivered in March, 1954; the
amount off the order to be 75% of the 1952 order Carried.

assessed to John Davis, (card 7371) has been moved to near Didsbury,
and taxes of $$129.00 have not been paid. Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser
that Secretary be instructed to register caveat against present
location of the building to protect the unpaid taxes of $129.00

Moved by Mr. L. P. Mestop that the used timber from
the "Evans bridge" be sold to Wilfred Evans for :125.001 and that
no addit onal payment be made to him for labor in connection with
dismantling of said bridge. Carried.
Moved by Mr Schmaltz that 14r Parry arrange for the
sale of �he used timber in the "Keiver bridge ". Carried.
Moved by Mr. Campbell that Gordon Park be engaged as
operator of the "AD-4" Motor Grader in the north -west part of
the Municipal District, and that he be paid $$1.00 per hour for the
first 20C hours, and $1.30 per hour thereafter. Carried.
Moved by Mr. Campbell that an additional $50.00 be paid
to X. De eaudrap for 2 acres of land taken from NW- 14•.32 -22 -4 for
road diversion. Carried (reference cheque No. 4272)
Moved by Mr. L. P. Meston that the application of Mr.
P. J. Rock to lease certain road allowances in Tp 31 -21 -4 be not
approved, Carried,
Mr. G. G. King, Asst. Secy Treas. read to the Council
the minu�es of the meeting of the Agricultural Service Board held
on Augusti 28th, 1953 Carried.
Moved by Mr. C. C. Campbell that application be made
for the se of the chemical 111080" for coyote control in the
isolated areas of the Municipal District in the vicinity of the
Red Deer River. Carried.
Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that Mr Schmaltz and Mr. Ruby
be appoi ted delegates to the Western Canadian Weed Control Confer-
ence at dmonton November 26th and 27th, 1953• Carried.
The Council gave approval to the suggested program of
vaccinat'on for Bang's disease
Moved by Mr. J. W. Olson that Council give approval to
the minutes of the Agricultural Service Board meeting August 28th,
1953- Carried.
Mr Robinson, representative of Waterous Limited, met the
Council. He stated that elevating grader attachment for AD -3 and
AD -4 motor graders is now available Mr. Schmaltz moved that three
steerin boosters be ordered for the AD -3 and two AD -4 motor graders
price 6 75-00 - y$700.00 each Carried.

instructed to follow up the correspondence with the Department
of Publi3 Works regarding a grant to assist in the rebuilding of
the over pass across the C.P R. line at Sharples Carried,
Moved by Mr, J. W. Olson that Reeve and Secretary-
Treasurer be authorized to sign the gravel lease between the
MunicipaL District and C. A. Steward? of Hesketh, Alberta, for
part of 1-0•- 29« -22 -4. Carried.
Moved by Mr. L. P. Meston that Secretary- Treasurer be
instruct d to file caveat to protect Municipal District's interests
in the 1 ase above. Carried.
Moved bir Mr J W. Olson that the following gravel
accounts be paid. James Bacon 11,106 cu. yds. 10� $1,110 60;
Andy and Mary Kralik 27523 cu yds 10j $252.30, and
Abraham P Klassen 77710 cu. yds. D 10P $771 00 Carried.

Council sir Campbell moved that these be accepted, and that the
work be one this year if possible Carried
Moved by Mr J W Olson that authority be granted
to Councillor Meston to have the 2 miles West 4 ec 9- 31 -22 -4
gravelled this year, if the gravel supply in SW- 16- 31 -22 -4 is
sufficient. Carried.
Mr S C Schmelke moved that the road committee
investigate the possibility of having a maximum of 10,000 cu yds
of grave stock -piled at the Red Deer Fiver, crushing of the
gravel to be done at the same tune, if feasible, and that the
said comipittee have power to act; on this business. Carrier
