I The Secretary- Treasurer was instructed to advise Mrs
Stewart to consult a lawyer in the matter of her dealings with
Harry Griffiths and SW -35- 34-24 -4.
Loved by Mr. Meston that Don. Casselmen be paid $30.00
for the south 33 feet of Lot 7, Block 4, Three Hills subdivision
plan ho. 4617 F.N. Carried.
Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that final approval be given to
Vy -Law No. 180 (Authorizing the closing of certain roads), and
that the road foreman be instructed to put up "Road Closed" signs
on the said roads. Carried.
Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that Douglas Drummond's pay -sheet
for $95. 1 be passed for payment. Carried.
Secretary - Treasurer was instructed to write to Mr. J P.
Ferguson that we regret that Mrs. Rice will not sell to the
Municipal District gravel on N2- 31- 32-25 -41 and that the Council
may find it necessary to expropriate the land under Section 201
of The M icipal- District Act.
Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that refund of $8.00 for 1952 and
1953 minimum taxes be made to Afred P. Hagel, Beiseker, who is a
resident of the Village of Beiseker. Carried.
Moved by Mr. L. P. Meston that refund of $8.00 for
1952 and 1953 minimum taxes be made to David Ratzlaff, Acme, who
is a resident of the Village of Acme. Carried.
Secretary - Treasurer was instructed to write to Mrs.
P B Toews, and give her the information contained in The Line
Fence Act.
Moved by Mr. Schmelke that Oscar Keirle be offered
$40.00 per acre for 3 acres for nuisance ground on SE-r 20»30- »25 -»47
and that Secretary - Treasurer and Sanitary inspector stake out
the said acreage. Carried.

Business resumed at 1.30 p.m. All Councillors present
Mr. McNair and Mr. Neil Hempel of Beiseker interviewed
;il_ regarding the gravelling of � mile of road west of
?8 -25 -4. Moved by Mr Schmaltz that Mr. Neil Hempel be
;o do this work at regular rates of pay; and that Mr.
ty one -third of the cost of the said work as a donation
works. Carried.
Mr. Arnold Boese and Mr Bernard Regehr, Linden, inter -
e Council regarding the proposed water -works scheme for
inlet. Loved by Mr Schmaltz that a public meeting be
inden to discuss this matter, and that the Secretary -
ask the firm of Haddin, Davis and Brown, Consulting
to have a representative at the said meeting Carried.
Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that Messrs Parry, Schmaltz,
Schmelke and Purvis attend the said meeting. Carried.
The Council left the office and drove to the cross -roads
at the S.W. corner of Sec. 13- 32 -24 -4 where a demonstration of a
Hough mo el HM Payloader machine wasp: made by Mr. Dickieson,
represen ative of Industrial & Road Equipment Ltd., Calgary.

Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that Mr Ruby be given ten days
in July and August. Carried.
Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that Mr. G. G. King be given
holidays the last two weeks of July Carried.
Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that one old Richardson grader
be sold to Boake Bros., Acme, for $30,00. Carried.
Moved by Mr. Meston that one old grader be sold to
Frank La bonne for $30.00. Carried.
Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that the offer of Vernon
Ohlhause , Carbon, to purchase 69 acres of SE- 14- 29« -23 -4 for
$200.00 e accepted, and that first reading of by -law to
authoriz said sale be passed and approved. Carried.
Second reading given by -law, and moved by Mr. Schmalts
that same be approved Carried.
Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that the offer of David Janzen
of Swalw 11, to purchase Lots 39 & 40, Block 3, Swalwell, for
$20.00 b accepted, and first reading of the by -law to authorize
said sal be approved. Carried (The 1953 potato crop on the
said lot to be the property of the person who planted same.)

that sam be approved. Carried.
Secretary - Treasurer reported on negotiations with the
Town of hree Hills for extension of water and sewer services
to serve M.. shop, and it was moved by Mr. Schmaltz that the
proposal be tabled for one year. Carried.
Moved by ,ir. Schmaltz that a valuation of $1,000 be
placed o� the property known as the Tidball house in Swalwell
(on Lots 41 -42, Blk. 3). Carried.
Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that tho Secretary be instructed
to write to The British American Oil Co. advising them of the
damage to roads in the vicinity of their drilling operations on
Sec 8-30-22-4. Carried.

Mr. Schmaltz moved that the donation for gravelling
r. R. R. Dates 0200.00) be accepted, and that $600.00
enditure be made on the road east of Sections 29 & 32-
Carried.
I Mr. G. G. King, Asst. Secy. Treas., submitted the
pay - sheets, and it was moved by Mr. Schmaltz that same be passed
for payment. Carried.
Mr Schmaltz moved that employees who submit mileage
accounts for payment be asked to give more details. Carried.
(Secretary-Treasurer to send letters.)
Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that James Grant be paid $1.25
per hour for checking gravel. Carried.
Moved by Mr Schmaltz that the assessor be authorized
to assess in the period July 1st to Cetober 15th, 1953, any
property which was assessable prior to July 1st, 1953•
(Sec. 29• The Assessment Act). Carried
I Moved by Mr. Schmalke that each Councilor have
authority to request use of one large machine for urgent work*
Carried.
Moved by Mr. Campbell that X deBeaudrap be paid
$100.00 for 2 cares of land taken for road in NW- 14 -32- 22-»4.
Carried.
Mr. Campbell brought up for discussion the matter
of this ftuaiQipal District assisting in the building of a
road betiveen this Municipal District and the Municipal Dist-
rict of Red Deer No. 55. Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that as the
road is the southern boundary of the M. D. of Red Deer Nol 55
and ther fore its responsibility, this Municipal District do
not take any responsibility in this matter. Carried.
Moved by Mr. L. P. Meston that a letter of condolence
be sent ito I'Ar. and Mrs. W. P. Hourihan. Carried.

one new kough model HM Payloader for $13,566.00, cash, and that
first reading to by -law to authorize said purchase be approved.

same be approved. Carried.
Third reading given by -law. Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that
same be passed and approved. Carried.

this machine be ordered for fall delivery. Carried.
