Council Meeting held June 8th, 1953• ----------------------------------- - - - - -- A meeting of the Council of the Municipal District of No. 48 was held on June 8th' 1953. f The Council assembled at NIAI- -2231 -24-4 at 9.00 a.m. ; and nsp, cted the slough and drainage problem on NW- 22- 31-24-4 and NB- 2i- 31-24 -4. Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that Mr. Purvis interview with the Deputy Minister of Municipal and accompany the delegation to Edmonton to submit to Deputy Minister for advice, Carried, The following agents were present, and interviewed il: Mr. Deans of Cruickshank R. M. Co. Mr. Robinson, of Waterous Ltd, Mr. Fleetham, of Costello Equipt. Co. Secretary - Treasurer submitted the renewal certificates office staffts fidelity bonds (Purvis $10,000 - Canadian qty Co,: King $57000 .- Globe Indemnity Co.: Christie - Pearl Assurance Co.) for examination by the Council, .77.2 M D. Act). Mr, Schmaltz moved that Mr. F. B. Connors be asked to suriey and estimate on the drainage problem at NE- 21- 31 --24 -4 and NW 22- •31•- 24 --4,1 report for next meeting. Carried. Mr. Meston moved that two 48t1 C.I.P.'s be ordered for above. Carried. Mr, Schmelke moved that $150.00 be allocated for improvement of the Sunnyslope play-ground, and that the accounts for eq ipment, lumber, etc. be filed with the Municipal Office for pa went. Carried. June 8th, 1953• Page 3. --------------- - - - - -- ----- - - - - -- Articles of Agreement between the Minister of Highways and the .Municipal District of Kneehill No. 48, Three Hills, Alberta. 1. The Minister of Highways hereby agrees to pay to the said Municipal District of Kneehill No 48 75% of the cost of the work on the roads as listed. 2. The total payment by the Department to the said Municipal District under this agreement shall not exceed $84,095• 3. The said District agrees to commence work on stated projects within thirty days of this agreement, and to complete all works prior to October 31st, 1953• 4. The said Municipal District hereby agrees to carry out the work in a manner approved by, and satisfactory to, the District Engineer of the Department. 5. The spid District hereby agrees to submit all vouchers covering the cost of the work to the said Engineer for the purpose of checking the cost of said work. 6. If, in the opinion of the Minister, the cost of any piece ol work undertaken under this agreement exceeds the value of the completed work, the Municipal District agrees to accept the valuation placed on the work by the Minister as the basis on which contribution shall be made. Moir and Mr. Roy Davidson met the Council, regarding gravelling of the road west of Sections 6 and 7, and Nortl of part of 7- 32 -23 -4. (2.2 miles) They are willing to pay ore-third of the cost of gravelling. Mr. Olson moved that thi offer be accepted and work on this project approved. Carried. Messrs. Parker, Rosgen, Loosmore, Hanger and Kilgour met with the Council and complained of the condition of the road six miles south of Town of Three Hills. Council promised to give consideration to this road in 1954, and if possible do some work on it in 1953• Road Committee to inspect same, Messrs. Brodner, Torrell, Braconnier, Brosseau, E. Brodn r and Webb met the Council regarding condition of road from SW-17-31-23-4 north for two miles. Committee to bring in a report No work promised at this location in 1953+ Messrs. Kaechele, Ranostaj, Hugo and Carney and Thomas met the Council regarding gravelling of the road south from NE-10-31-22-4 (Sarcee) for 22 miles. Moved by Mr. Olson that app oval be given to gravelling this road in 1953 at 500 yds. per mile on condition that $600.00 be donated by inter- ested pa ties. Carried. Mr. Schmaltz moved that Peter Baerg be charged for 110 ft. of 12 inch C.I.P. at $1.25 per ft. Carried. Mr. Meston moved that R. Campbell be supplied with 40 posts for fence. Carried. Mr. Meston moved that Don Casselman be offered $30.00 for the south 33 ft. of Lot 7, Block 41 Three Hills Subdivision, Plan 4617 FN, same to be used for a roadway. Carried. Mr. Schmaltz moved that steps be taken to have Oscar Ga chal apply for Disability Pension. Carried. Mr. Ohlhauser moved that the pay - sheets be passed for paym nt.
