Moved by Mr. F C Petersen that the account of

Moved by Mr. S. C. Schmelke that Municipal District
assume responsibility for residence qualifications for John Setla
while he is lodged in the Ogden Hostel, Calgary. Carried,
Moved by Mr. S. C. Sch_melke that approval be given
to the proposed sub - division of Block 2, Plan 4127 E.H. to
provide for a hotel. site 1101 x 100' and 20 t roadway on the
east an& south sides thereof. (Hamlet of Torrington). Carried.
Mr, and Mrs. Raffel, of Trochu, interviewed the Council
and reported that they are unable to pay from their income the
taxes levied on their property (Card 5652). !Moved by Mr. Camp-
bell that $120.00 payment on account be accepted from Mr. and Mrs.
Raffel, and that they be furnished $20.00 per month assistance.
Carried.
Mr. F. C. Petersen moved that the two foremen be
informed oofthe contents of letter from 0A11 Dept. of Industries
and Labo (Electrical Branch) regarding grading of roads on which
there a.r power line poles. Carried,
Mr. F. C. Petersen moved that consent and approval
be given to the use of the coyote poison "1080" within this
Municipal District, subject to all government regulations re
use of same. Carried.
Moved by Mr. C. C. Campbell that approval be given
to the e tension of power lines by the Canadian Utilities Ltd,
in the D naldson and Huxley West Extension as shown on maps
submittei by said company, Carried.
Mr, F. C. Petersen moved that account of W. R. Sander -
cock, ', , for $47.36,, for preparing agreement with Mr. and
Mrs. ra ik for lease of gravel pit be paid, Carried„
Moved by Mr. J.A.Ohlhauser that report of W. D. Isbister,
Inspecto of Dept. of Municipal Affairs, be accepted, and filed
for fut e reference. Carried.
Mr. C. C. Campbell moved that letter be sent to
Mr, Edwi Schunert assuring him that the Municipal District will
provide ssistance for care of his daughter whould he be unable
to do so from his own resources. Carried.
Moved by Mr Ohlhauser that correspondence be filed.

Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that Council adjourn from 12,00
to 1.00 L,m. for dinner. Carried,
Council resumed bysiness at 1.00 p.m„
During the recess the Council had inspected the
Municipal shop in Three Hills and the heating plant in the shop.
It was the coneansus of opinion that the present heating plant
is unsatisfactory a4dl quite inadequate to heat the building.
Moved by Mr. F. C. Petersen that a Kirk fthrnace and stoker be
ordered nstalled in the shop, with a guarantee to heat the shop
to 700 i cold weather, no payment to be made until it has
proven s tisfactory; size to be one size larger that one discussed
at last ouncil meeting. Carried„
Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that F. C. Petersen and G. G. King
be appoi ted a Committee to look after furnace order, Carried.
Moved by Mr. Petersen that Pay - sheets be passed for
payment. Carried. /

Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that the next meeting of the
e held on Feb 23rd, 1953 at 9 00 a m Carried
Council reviewed the report showing col?ection of taxes
from Seizures of grain made by Municipal District Moved by
Mr. Ohlhauser that Anton Sander be asked to pay $81.34 more on
SW-9-28-26-4, so that taxes are paid to end. of 1951, before the
claim of the Municipal District be withdrawn Carried
Mr. Olson reported that plans have been made to have
Mr. Geor e Webber lodged in an old man's home at Wayne, Alberta,
as soon is room is available
Secretary- Treasurer reported that plans have been made
to have Ijartin Davis lodged in the Linden Nursing Home, as soon
as room Is available.
Mr. Petersen reported that there is no necessity to
supply rglief and assistance to the family of Clarence Guttridge
at the p esent time.
Moved by Vr Petersen that an order be placed with
Wright Motors, Carbon, Alberta, for a new 1 ton International
truck, e uipped with five 7.50 x 17 tires, 9 ft steel box,
4 speed fransmission, antifreeze, overload springs, oil filter,
heater and defroster* Price $2,700.00. less trade -in value of
$875.00 411owed on used Chevrolet truck: Net cost $1,825 00;
and that first reading of by -law to provide for slid order be
passed. Carried.
Moved by Mr.. Ohlhauser that second reading of by -law
be passed Carried
Moved by [fir. Petersen that the placing of an order
for a net truck for North camp be delayed until spring. Carried.
Moved by Mr. S. C. Schmelke that Christian Ruchert
be appointed pound- keeper at SE- 26- 33 -25 -4, replacing Herbert
Buchert, who has moved away. Carried.
Moved by Mr. Petersen that 1952 taxes of 05.57 be
re -insta ed on Card No 2198, being 19.52 taxes on personal
property which were omitted in the 1952 levy. Carried.
Moved by Mr Schmelke that 1952 taxes on SW- 30- 34 -24 -4
(131 30) and on SW- 31- 34 -24 -4 0107.57) be re- instated, as the
cheque in payment of the said taxes has been refused by the Bank.

Moved by Mr. Schmelke that $25.00/compensation for
damages to crop on SW- 6- 33 -24 -4 be paid to Mrs Isabel Dann,

Moved by Mr Ohlhauser that a letter of good wishes
be sent o Mr. M. Schmaltz. Carried.
Mr. C. J Christie gave a report of the Assessor's
convents n, and it was moved by Mr. Petersen that tfie said
report bf accepted, and that Mr. C. J. Christie be appointed
Assessor for 1953. Carried.
Moved by Mr. Campbell that Mr. Christie be appointed
Insrecto of Mothers' Allowance for 1953 Carried.
