In the past the Council has not given approval applications. Moved by Mr, Campbell that approval be the application of V. E. Postill for the leasing of ances: 1. East of 10- .33 -22 -4: 1 mile 2. South of 14- 33•- 22 «4-: 1 mile 3. South of SW- 1333 -22 -4 (west of Red Deer Ribver) about j mile 4. East of SE- 15- 33- 22-4: (south of ferry road) about j mile. Carried, I Moved by be that each investigated Mr. Olson that the Council's policy in this application be considered on its own merits, before Councils decision be given. Carried* Moved by Mr. Olson that cheque from Provincial Govt, for $2,000 as grant to Rosebud Seed Cleaning Plant be accepted, and deposited, and that the Municipal District issue a cheque for $2,000 to Rosebud Seed Cleaning Plant Ltd. in compensation. Carried. Moved by Mr. Campbell that $50.00 be refunded to Aarne Ni min of Trochul Alta. (Refund of donation: Rec. 4898: June 4th 1951). Carried. Moved by Mr. Olson that Secretary - Treasurer be instructed to take steps to have George Webber lodged in an Old Man's Homa. D. shop at Carbon. i Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that the statement submitted by the Royal Trust Co, in the estate of Donald Murray MacFarlane be accepted. Carried. (The said statement shows the Municipal District as a creditor for sum of $150.00). Mr. F. C. Petersen reported that there is hardship in the household of Clarence Guttridge, Three Hills, Alta. Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that Mr. Petersen investigate this matter further. Carried, Trochu B. equipment we expect - Carried. Seizures costs. C instructs The Secretary - Treasurer was instructed to advise the .O.E. that other community projecjs which hired municipal had paid for same at 50% of the usual rental rates, and the B.P.O.E. to pay at these reduced rates. Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that correspondence be filed. Council adjourned from 12.30 to 1.30 for dinner. Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that Mr. Findlay's account for ($219.20) be paid, and charged to General Administration arried. Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that Secretary- Treasurer be 3 to sue for balance of Minimum Taxes unpaid. Carried. Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that a valuation of $200.00 be placed on the 69 acres of SE- 14- 29-23 -4, now owned by the Municipal District by Tax Recovery proceedings. Carried. Mr. A. C. Bates interviewed the Council on the matter of taxes received on Nov. 18, 1952, on which 5% diset, was not given. Mrs. Henry Davis and Mr. Martin Davis interviewed the Council n the matter of immediate assistance for Mr. Martin Davis. owed by Mr. Schmelke that steps be taken to have Mr. Hntvis to ged in the Linden. Nursing Home, and that Municipal District accept responsibility for his account. Carried. Mr. Congo, representative of Kirk's Furnaces, met with the Council regarding heating plant for Three Hills shop. Page 3. ------------------------------- - - - - -- Mr. George Mills interviewed the Council regarding building of drainage ditch Mr. Schmelke moved that Mr. Parry, Mr Petersen, Mr. King and Mr. Howell be appointed a committee to investigate this matter on Dec. 9th, 1952, Carried. Mr. G. G. King, Asst. Secy. Treas. submitted the Public Works statements, and the pay- sheets. Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that the Public Works statement be accepted. Carried+ Mr. Gimbel and Mr. Howell reported to the Council that they had inspected the site of the prppesed work for George Mills, and they estimate it would take two tractors one week to do the work and would cost $1,000 to $1,200 at regular rates. Moved by Mr. Parry that, owing to frost danger, and high estimated cost, that work be not undertaken this year, and that the entire Council inspect this project in spring of 1953. Carried. Morrison, of Union Tractor Co* Mr Pennock, of Highway Motots, Three Hills. Mr. Dickison, of Industrial R.E. Ltd. Mr. E. Fleetham, of Costello Equipt. Co. Ltd. Mr. Robinson, of Waterous Limited. Mr. Dean, of Cruickshank R. M. Co. Ltd, Moved by Pair. S. C. Schmelke that Verne Bogner, John and Norman Will be notified (on Dec. 9th) that the District will not require their services after Dec. 10th7 Llled out for snow - plowing or special work, and that >s will be kept open for them in the spring of 1953• Moved by Mr. J. A. Ohlhauser that A. E. Mottern be notified (on Dec. 9tb) that he can continue to work through the winter f r wages of $225.00 per month; that his duties as cook will cease on Dec 10th, 1952, and that after that date he will be firemAn and caretaker of the Municipal Shop, and will be required to do such other wark as the foreman may require.
