The Council of the Municipal District of Kneehill
No. 48 held a regular meeting on Monday the 12th day of May,
1952, starting at 10.00 a.m.

Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that approval be given to the
ninutes`of the meetings held on April 4th, 1952 and April 28th,
1952, Carried,
The Secretary- Treasurer read the Financial Statement
for month of April, 1952, viz.:
Net balance April 1st, 1952: $ 11035.90
Receipts in April, 1952: 229474.60
Sub- total: 349410,50
Disbursements in April, 1952: 291677057
Net balance on April 30, 1952: 4,732.93
Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that approval be given to
the Financial Statement for April, 1952. Carried,
Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that a letter be sent to the
Department of Public Works (Bridge branch) requesting early
action on the rebuilding of the bridges at 19 & 20 -30 -25-4
(Ineehill Creek) and at South of 1 -33 -25.4 (Three Hills Creek).

The Secretary- Treasurer was directed to notify the
Hospital of the admittance of Elsie Kalin in
General Hospital.
Moved by Mr, Schmaltz that permission be given to
Socony- Vacuum Co. to carry out Seismic operations, subject
to the conditions on Page 2, Minutes of April 3rd, 1952.
Carried.
Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that correspondence be
filed. (Carried.
First reading given to By -Law No. 160, to provide
for the sale of Lot 30, Block 4 in Huxley to John S. Fraser
for $10,00, cash. Moved by Mr. Campbell that first reading
of this by -law be approved. Carried,
Second reading given to by -law No. 160, and it was
moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that same be approved. Carried.
Moved by Mr. Schmelke that G. G. King and A. J. Purvis
be give leave -of- absence to attend the Secretary- Treasurers'
Convent Lpense n in Banff on May 26«•28, 1952; and that each be paid
$40.00 account, Carried,

The following agents interviewed the Councils
Mr. Ainsworth, representing Ferguson Supply Co.
Mr. Heaton, representing Sundre Contracting Co.
Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that Secretary - Treasurer invest-
igate the mileage for roadmen. Carried.
Council adjourned at 12.20 p.m. for lunch.
Council resumed business at 1.20 p.m.
Milegge for road men was discussed, and it was moved
by Mr. C. C. Campbell that Mr. Petersen investigate this matter,
and require that each employee show details of mileage in future.
Carried.
John and Josepil Sich Peter Mucka and Joseph Nakaska
met the Council, and that consideration be given to the improve-
ment of the road to Peter Mucka's (West of 26 and 35- 3222 -4).
Milton Falkenberg met the Council, and asked that
consideration be given to the improvement of the road (East of
See. 24••32••24 -4) .
Mr. C. J. Christie reported on his investigations
into the Mrs. Hart case at Sunnyslopeq and advised that Mrs.
Hart should be advised to return to her husband's house.
Mr. Schmaltz moved that report be accepted, Carried.

Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that invitations be sent
to the following to attend a meeting in the Municipal Office
on May 30th or June 2nd:
Mr. Gerhart & Mr. Judge: Department of Municipal Affairs.
Mr. Hourihan & Mr. Cannings: Drumheller School Division,
Mr. Brown and Mr. Schmaltz; Wheatland School Division.
Mr, Winter: Stettler School Division
Mr, Ellergodt: Olds School Division
Chairman of Trochu Malley, Trochu Pontmain and Three Hills
School Districts.
The said meeting to discuss the advisability of
establishing a County form of local government in this area.
Carried.
The reports of bridges show that the Chief Bridge
Engineer proposes to remove* the 90 ft, steel bridge now at
SW -13 -29 -23»4 to SW-20-30-25-4, Moved by Mr, Schmaltz that
this proposal be approved, providing satisfactory arrangements
can be made with adjoining farmers. Carried.
Also that the Chief Bridge Engineer proposes to
J lengthen, raise and move 90 feet east the bridge over the Lone
Pine Creek at South of SW- 27- 30-26 -+, Moved by Mr. Schmaltz
this prpposal be approved* Ca rried,
Also that the Chief Bridge Engineer proposes to
remove the Bridge at SE- 23 -30- 26-4, and replace it with two
�J 48" culverts and rock fill„ Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that
this proposal be approved, providing a bridge is built at
NE -13 -30 -26.4 (at Lawrencets, 1 mile downstream)o Carried*
Also that the chief Bridge Engineer proposes to
move the 90 ft. steel bridge, at present in the Kneehill Creek
at Sharp es to NE- 1530- 23-•j+ (Three Hills Creek at McCrackents).
Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that Mr. Olson, Mr, Ohlhauser and Mr.
Gimbel vestigate this matter. Carried*
Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that application be made for
an out-right grant of $49000 to regravel the seven miles of
road from Carbon south and west to H.W. #99 the said regravelling
being ne essary because of the rerouting of through traffic over
it in 19 1 when H.W. #9 was being rebuilt. Carried*
Council adjourned at 7.00 p.m.
