Councill Meeting held April 3rd, 1952 Page 1. ------------------------------- - - - - -- The statutory meeting of the Council of the Municipal District of Kneehill accordce with daytofnApri of The Municipal l 1952, st rting at 10.00 a.m. The Secretary- Treasurer read the report of the Return- ing Officer showing that Misr. J. A. Ohlhauser had been elected had been electe Councill r for Div. 4, and Mr Parry Councill Parry subscribed to the Oath of Office of Councillor. Councillors present at this meeting: Mr. J. W. Olson: Div. 1 Mr. J. A. Ohlhauser: to 2 Mr. M. Schmaltz: 1t 3 Mr. H. Parry: It Mr. F. C. Petersen: to Mr. S. C. Schmelke: It 6 Mr, C. C. Campbell: to 7 Moved by Mr. Olson that Mr. Parry be elected Reeve for 1952 Carried. Joved by Mr. Petersen that Mr. Schmaltz be elected Deputy Reeve for the first six months of 1952. Carried. Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that H. J. Gimbel, road foreman, be paid 136.00 holiday bonus for 1951. Carried. W, of $3000) Moved by Mr, Petersen that in 1952 and future years the offic e staff, the Field Supervisor and the two road foremen take two weeks` holiday in each year, and that no bonus will be paid for not taking holidays; dates of holidays to be arranged with the Reeve. Carried. Moved by Mr, Ohlhauser that the minutes of the previous meeting a adopted. Carried. The Secretary - Treasurer submitted a list showing the requisitions for 1952 from the various school and hospital areas within t e Municipal District. Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that the requisit ons be accepted, and payment of the first quarterly instalme t of each requisition authorized. Carried. Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that Liability Insurance policy No. 1211 , with the Indemnity Insurance Company of North America, be renewed for one year, and payment of the premium of $810.00 authorize d. Carried. Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that Mr. J. W. Olson be appoints to fill the vacancy on the board of the Drumheller Municipa Hospital District No. 31 brought about by the dis- qualific tion of the previous member. (Section 49 -2 of The Municipa Hospitals Act.) Carried. Purvis or G. G. King attend the meeting of the Central Alberta Assoc- iation of, M. D.'s in Red Deer April 19, 1952. Carried. Moved by Mr. S. C. Schmelke that $300.00 be paid to the DTumheller municipal District No. 3 in settlement of Oscar Ga al's account of $654.70 (Section 6..4 of The Hospitals Act,) Carried. Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that the account of $100.00 for rent, su itted by Mrs. Marvel Booth, be refused2 on the grounds that the Municipal District did not authorize Mrs. Hart to occupy the property. Carried, The Council adjourned from 12.15 to 1.15 p.m. for dinner. Mr. C. W. Edwards and Mr. F. 0. Nelson interviewed the Council :regarding the regrading rnculvertsoonithe of road eas of 32 and 29-31-23-4; also , regarding the sout 4 miles. A delegation of members of the F.U.A. interviewed the Council xegarding the Gaumont and Brown legal case; and asked the Council to give financial assistance to said parties in further appeals o tthhe A.A.M.D.'sofor fullrparticulars, and that letter written thatfurther action b� tabled. Carried. Messrs. Monroe, Hymas and Dresser interviewed the Council i#egarding the proposal to establish a Seed Cleaning Plant at Roseb dgI Alberta.
