Petersen that the Secretary - Treasurer ctod to make application for permits to remove gravel pit on NE-29-33- 22-4, and from the Red Deer River. Moved by Mr. J. W. Olson that the Council withhold approval of the applications for leasing of road allowances made by 0. E. Postill, Harry Holland, Albert Stanger and Paul Elvin on the grounds that the roads are used at certain seasons cf the year by the general public. Carried. Moved by Mr. J A. Ohlhauser that the report of F. J. Oh hauser respecting two impounded animals be accepted, and paym nt of $32.00 costs authorized. Carried. Moved by Mr. J. IN. Olson that the Linden Home be paid $15.00 per month as supplementary maintenance costs fvr Mrs. Fl.e ing, Mrs. Farley, Mrs. i4cPiza-i-1 and Mr. Bye. Carried. Moved by Mr. J. A. Schmelke that the request of the Canadian Pacific Railway Co. respecting cattle guards, be tablej until after the Municipal Convention. Carried. Moved by Mr. J. A. Ohlhauser that Dominion of Canada General Ins. policy No. 111- 384,633 be accepted, and payment of the premium of t' ?347.91 authorized. Carried. Moved by Mr. J A. Ohlhauser that the 1951 dues of $156. CO in the Alberta association of Municipal Districts be paid, thEt the seven councillors be sent as delegates to the convents n on Nov 12, 13 and 14, 1951; and that G G King and A. J Purvis be sent as visitors. Carried. Moved by Mr. C. C. Campbell that each representative of the Municipal District attending the convention be paid $40.00 e penses. Carried.. Moved by Mr. J. A. Ohlhauser that the requisition of $lp 26 .00 submitted by the Calgary Rural Municipal Hospital District be accepted; and paid in two instalments on Sept. 15th and Dec. 15th, 1951. Carried. Mr. Harry Griffiths, owner of S17-35-34-24-4, was present, and stated that he would pay X500.00 on arrears of taxes before s ring of 1952. Moved by Mr. Cmapbell that this under- taking be accepted. Carried !r. A. F. Reimer and Mr. Jac. D. Esau were present, and submitted the petition lists respecting Hospital Districts recently circulated in Tp. 30. Ranges 25 and 26. The lists show 77 rames on the list for Calgary Rural Municipal Hospital District, and 14 names on the list for Three Hills 1.'unicipal Hospital District. Moved by Mr. M. Schmaltz that recommendation be made to ixr. E. E. Maxwell, Supervisor of Municipal Hospitals, that the area: Tp.. 29, Ranges 243 25 and 26, Tp 30. Ranges 25 and 26, te added to the Calgary Municipal Hospital District. Carried. Mr. R. E. MacKay, .representative of Armco Drainage and Meta Products, was present, and was given an order for metal cu verts. ','r. G. G. King submitted the pay - sheets and public works st tement. Petersen that John Atkinson be paid �1, 00 00 for gravel work as soon as tickets for this amount are received, duly approved by the Councillor concerned. Carried. Mr. F C Petersen reported that the chassis of the new bunk car (used by J. c�. Christensen) is unsatisfactory, and will hav c to be given major repairs. Mr. Parry reported that Linden sub- division is asking for inst llation of street lights. 14r. Schmaltz ;roved that the an Secretary be appointed a committee to bring in a report on this i2atter. Carried. Minutes of the Agricultural Service Board meeting of Aug. 28t', 1951 read by Mr. G. G. ring. Moved by Mr. F. C. Petersen that Municipal District pay one-half of cost of grass seed used on Ed. Fhrman's land, (NE -16 -3 +26 »4) and charge same against his gravel account. Campbell that Lot 25, Block 4, Huxley, be sold o Eric McCook, Huxley, for 10.00 cash, and that first reading if By-Law to authorize said sale be passed. Carried. Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that second reading of ByrLaw be passe. Carried. Moved. by Mr. Campbell that Lots 21,22.,23 and 24, Block 4, Huxley, be sold to Mr Donald McKinlay, Huxley, for $25.00 cash, and that first reading of by-law tc authorize same be passed. Carried. Campbell that the Reeve and the Secretary-Treasurer be authorized to borrow $ 20,000 from the Royal Baiik of Canada, Three Hills and X20,000 from the Treasury Branch, Three Hills, or such lesser amounts as may be required to pay c rrent operating charges until taxes are collected.
