Holwegner be paid 41 holid y bonus on his 1951 earnings. Carried. There was a lengthy discussion on the matter of control of weeds on road allowances, and it was decided that, for 1951, experimeilts would be made in the use of brush killer chemical in certain selected areas. Moved by Mr. M. Schmaltz that the Municipal District purchase one road -side boom for spraying chemical on road sides. arried. Moved by Mr S. C. Schmelke that Mr. L. L. Rist be appointed pound - keeper, to operate a pound at SW- 13- 31 -26 -4. Carried. Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that the report of the Inspector of Mothers Allowance re Mrs. Rose Nikolaus be accepted and filed. Carried. Moved by Mr. F. C. Petersen that Mr Parry, Mr. Purvis and Mr. $chmaltz investigate the matter of a proposed road diversion through SE- 30- 29 -25 -4, on west side of C.P.R. tracks. Carried. Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that no grant be made to the Red Cros$ Society in 1951, due to local donations in Beiseker area. Carried. Olson that the application made by A. St ger for lease of certain road allowances be refused, on the grounds that the roads may be used by the public. Carried. Moved by Mr J A. Ohlhauser that correspondence be filed, Carried. The Council adjouned from 12.15 p.m. to 1.45 p.m. for dinner. Mr D. J Brodner interviewed the Council regarding road on east side of TvE- 36- 30 -24 -4. Mr. Parry and Mr. Petersen agreed t6 investigate this matter. Mr. Foster, Mr. Smith and Mr. Swanson, of Three Mills Town Council, interviewed the Council regarding the building of a sidewa k to the hospital. Moved by Mr. C. C. Campbell that the Municip4 District pay for 100 febt of sidewalk. Carried, i Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that Mr. Ohlhauser and Mr. Peter- sen investigate the matter of buying a new trailer for the use of A. M. Petersen and Dennis Howell, operators of the new TD -18 tractor." Carried. Moved by Mr. F. C. Petersen that approval be given to applicat on of A. L. Toews to operate a printing business. Carried. The Secretary- Treasurer was instructed to acknowledge letter 4om H M. Isaac regarding Oil Exploration crews. Mr. William Maerz interviewed the Council on the matter of flood ng of his farm -yard in high water This matter was left in chard of Mr. Schmelke. A representative of Panther Oil and Grease Co. inter- viewed 4e Council regarding roof coating for Three Hills shop. Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that the wages of the two cooks be raise to $175.00 per month, effective July lst, 1951. Carried. ifloved by Mr. J. A. Ohlhauser that the Reeve and Secret- ary-Treasurer be authorized to sign the agreement between the Government and Municipal District for Agricultural Service Bd. Carried. A letter from F. B. Connors, regarding the Morrin Ferry road, was read Moved by Mr. F. C Petersen that Mr. Connors be advised that it is impossible to alter the road contracts for 1951 so as to include this road. Carried. Moved by Mr. F. C Petersen that the pay- sheets, as signed and approved by Councillors, be passed for payment. Carried. Moved by Mr. J. A. Ohlhauser that A. J. Purvis be given two weeks' holiday, starting July 23rd, 1951 Carried Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that a new Propane stove be installed in the Bunk -car used by D. W. Adams, Motor - Grader operator. Carried. Mv. Backman, Field Supervisor, �gave a report on his inspection of the John Peck farm (NW- 17- 28- 21 -4). Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that report be accepted. Carried. W. Olson that the Council proceed to pass a by-law under Section 234 of the M. D. Act (Destruction of Pests), so that the Coyote Control policy of the Prov. Govt. may be put into effect in this Municipal District; first reading was given to By -Law No 150 and passed. Carried. Mr. Parry brought up the matter holiday for Mr. Backman in 1951; latter stated that he died not xpect any holiday period this year. Moved by Mr. J. W. Olson that the Council proceed to pass a by-law under Section 234 of the M. D. Act (Destruction of Pests), so that the Coyote Control policy of the Prov. Govt. may be put into effect in this Municipal District; first reading was given to By -Law No 150 and passed. Carried.
