Carried The Secretary-Treasurer was instructed to get inform- ation on the matter of payment for gravel in 1951. (The courts have decided that gravel is a "mineral ", and payment for same should bE made to the owner of mineral rights.) The Council adjourned from 12 00 to 1 15 p.m for dinner. The Council interviewed Mr. h. F. Bell and Mr. W. S. Backman iegarding the matter of burning of stubble, and the issuing cf permits. A delegation of approximately 75 resident farmers from the Ghost Pine area interviewed the Council on this matter: the spe ers for the delegation being Walter Hourihan, J. 14. Wilson, Dim. McLe n, H H McGhee, R i= Davidson, A G Davies, John Hugo, Glen Jon s, Duncan Peters, George Sommerville and others. Mr. Geo. Sommerville moved that recomrendation be made to the Council that the members of the Agricultural Serv- ice Boar be elected, one from each division, under similar conditions as the election of Councillor, resident ratepayers only to le eligible, councillors to be ineligible to serve on Agricultural Service Board, Field Supervisor and Government representative to be retained on A S.Bd This recommendation was seco ded by i�ir. W. Hourlhan, and was carried by the a vote of the dele ation. Moved by iir. Duncan Peters that no permit for the burning cf swaths be refused, with due precaution for burning of stubble to be used.
