The Secretary-Treasurer was instructed to advise the
.U.A. group that their recommendation regarding penalties
requires an amendment to The iviunicipal Districts Act.

tractor vork for the Provincial Government at �11,10 00 per hour

The Secretary-Treasurer was instructed to get inform-
ation on the matter of payment for gravel in 1951. (The courts
have decided that gravel is a "mineral ", and payment for same
should bE made to the owner of mineral rights.)
The Council adjourned from 12 00 to 1 15 p.m for
dinner.
The Council interviewed Mr. h. F. Bell and Mr. W. S.
Backman iegarding the matter of burning of stubble, and the
issuing cf permits.
A delegation of approximately 75 resident farmers
from the Ghost Pine area interviewed the Council on this matter:
the spe ers for the delegation being Walter Hourihan, J. 14. Wilson,
Dim. McLe n, H H McGhee, R i= Davidson, A G Davies, John Hugo,
Glen Jon s, Duncan Peters, George Sommerville and others.
Mr. Geo. Sommerville moved that recomrendation be
made to the Council that the members of the Agricultural Serv-
ice Boar be elected, one from each division, under similar
conditions as the election of Councillor, resident ratepayers
only to le eligible, councillors to be ineligible to serve on
Agricultural Service Board, Field Supervisor and Government
representative to be retained on A S.Bd This recommendation
was seco ded by i�ir. W. Hourlhan, and was carried by the a vote of
the dele ation.
Moved by iir. Duncan Peters that no permit for the
burning cf swaths be refused, with due precaution for burning of
stubble to be used. Seconded by i4r J it Wilson, and carried
by a VOtE of the delegation.

that mem ers of the office staff be appointed as fire wardens.
Carried,
Mr. E M Huxley and others suggested that the Field
Supervis r contact the occupant of farms, whenever inspections
are made
Mr. V. E. Huxley suggested that steps be taken to
spray ro d allowances with weed killer chemical.
Mr. Duncan Peters moved a vote of thanks to the Council
for-the 4earing. notion carried by vote of the delegation.
The delegation withdrew at 3.15 p.m.

There was some discussion on the matter of the building

Act be enforced. Carried.

Moved by Mr. 14 Schmaltz that Henry Gehring, owner
of SE- 30- 29 -25 -4, be offered 450 00 per acre for land required
for road diversion on west side of C.P.R right -of -way, and that
a similar offer be made to Petrie and Petrie, Executors of the
Estate of the late J U. Patterson, for land required from
PW- 19- 29 -25 -4. Carried.

Moved by Mr. J. W. Olson that Mr. M. Schmaltz look
into the matter of fire insurance on the Beiseker house, and
cancel same. Carried.
i,ir J W Olson :roved that Mr. Campbell and iir Schmelke
be appointed a comoittee to meet with D. W. Adams and J. A.
Christensen, and settle the matter of location of the new trailer
(bunk -car. Carried.

appointed as sub- foreman of the south camp, effective as from
today. Carried.
Moved by 14r. J. A. Ohlhauser that the pay - sheets be
ipassed for payment. Carried.
Moved by Mr. Schmelke that Mr. Schmaltz and ivir. ding
interview the Bridge Engineer in Edmonton regarding bridges.
Carried.
Moved by Mr. Schmelke that Secretary- Treasurer write
to the Provincial Health Inspector regarding vacant lot in
Wimborne. find out if the open basement has been reported as
a menace. Carried.
Moved by 14r. Schmelke that Council adjourn. Carried.
