the Council and reported on his investigations at the home of
Mr. Her rt Darling (SE- 22- 29- 21 -4). It was moved by Mr to
9chmaltz that Mr. Findlay and Mr. Olson be instructed to carry
on further investigations in this matter, and if necessary,
take action under The Child Welfare Act to have the Baird
children made wards of the Provincial Government. Carried.
The Secretary- Treasurer read a letter from Mr G.
Powell egarding the Hermanson family near Carbon, and it was
moved b Mr. J A. Ohlhauser that Mr. Findlay be instructed
to inve tigate conditions in this home. Carried.

Moved by Mr. M. Schmaltz that the hospital account
lager ($172.50 at Calgary General Hospital) be paid, and
registered against his property in Torrington to protect
payment. Carried
The Secretary - Treasurer was advised to notify the
Canadian National Railways that other arrangements having been
made, th Municipal District does not require a lease of part
of the B iseker station grounds for roadway purposes.
Moved by Mr. M. Schmaltz that the assignment of
Mr. Wm Howell, foreman, to the Treasury Branch, Elnora, for
$500.00 be accepted; and Secretary - Treasurer be instructed to
make payments on same at $50.00 per month for 10 months starting
with Jan4Lary wages. Carried.
Mr. Wm. Howell was present, and discussed with the
council matters relating to his work He was instructed to
make arrangements for the unloading and moving of the bridge
material for bridges at SE- 1-33 -25 -1- and South of 4-- 33 -26 -4
Moved by Mr. J. A. Ohlhauser that the matter of
coyote bounty be brought up for discussion at the annual meeting
of the ratepayers on Feb 19, 1951. Carried.
The Council adjourned from 12.15 to 1 30 p.m. for
dinner.
Four ratepayers, Messrs. John Dick, Wm. Bogner,
Elmer We gum and M Siltala, interviewed the Council on the
matter of 5 miles of the Olds- Trochu road, south of Sections
2_3_4_5_ , Tp. 33_ Rae. 24. They request that this road,
especial 'y the 2 miles south of Sections 3 and 4, be higk- graded
before b ing gravelled.
Mr. h F Bell, District Agriculturist, was present,
and disc sled with the Council the matter of the appointment
of a Fie d Supervisor.
Moved by Mr J W Olson that a committee of Mr. H
Parry, Mr. M. Schmaltz and Mr. G G King be appointed to
contact Mr. W. S Backman of Westlock, Alberta, and to hire
him as Field Supervisor as soon as he is available. Carried
Moved by Mr. J A Ohlhauser that a salary of $2,700.00
per year and mileage at 10¢ per mile be authorized for Field
Supervis r. Carried.
Mr. Parry reported on his investigations at the
home of Mrs. Hart, Sunnyslope. Home found clean and tidy. She
expected a clothing allowance of $25-00 per month, but it was
felt that Mr. Hart coul,I not afford this amount. Mr Hart
interviewed the Council and said that he could not afford to pay
the acco is being incurred by his wife He earns $90.00 per
month wh n employed at Simon Megli's, but has been unemployed
for two onths.
Secretary- Treasurer submitted applications for
relief made by Mrs. H. W. Davidson, of Sunnyslope and Mr. Martin
Davis, an inmate at the Linden Home. Moved by Mr ''M Schmaltz
that Mr. Parry and A. J Purvis investigate these applications
and make the necessary emergency orders. Carried.
Mr. J. A. Findlay and Mr. J G Umbrite interviewed
the Coun it on the matter of Public Liability and Property
Damage i surance on the Municipal District's machinery.
Mr. M. Schmaltz moved that next meeting of Council
be held eb. 19th, 1951 at 9.00 a.m. Carried.
