Purvis investigate the application Sember for lease of road allowances. Carried Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that the Morrin Board of Trade be advised that their letter regarding the Morrin -Three Hills road will. be given consideration in the 1951 program of public works. Carried. Moved by Mr. J. A. Ohlhauser that a grant of $100 00 be paid to the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity, Edmonton, Alta. Carried. Moved by Mr. J. A. Ohlhauser that !,;fr. J. A. Findlay be instr cted to make a seizure of the grain of Mr. W. F. Kraft to satis y his account for Child Welfare. X222.85 Carried. The Secretary - Treasurer reported to the Council that he had b5,en instructed by the Deputy Attorney - General to with- draw the seizure made of the grain on W-21--8--1 30- 24--4• Mrs Amy Gore. I was moved by Mr. Campbell that the withdrawal of this seizure pe approved by the Council. Carried. Moved by Mr. Campbell that the offer of Mr. Eli Weisenbu ger of Huxley to purchase Lots 13- 14 -15, Block 31 Huxley f r30.00, cash, be accepted and first reading to by -law to autho ize said sale be passed. Carried. Second reading given to by -law No. 138, and moved by Mr. S hmelke that same be passed. Carried. Mr. Hugh Parry reported to the Council that three employee 3: Raymond Petersen, Alfred Wik and Mrs Alfred Wik had resi ned from employment with the Municipal District. William iowell, foreman, met the Council and gave further informat'on regarding this matter. Moved by Mr Schmaltz that the resi nations of these three employees be accepted. Carried. Robert Hogg and Thos. Sloan, employees of the Municipa District, met with the Council. Thos. Sloan asked to be tr nsferred from the position of operator of the "M -99" Motor -Gr der to machine operator in the North Camp. Mr. S. C. Schmaleke moved that Thos. Sloan be transferred to the North camp as machine operator, and that J A. Christensen of Trochu be engaged as operator of the "IVI -99" Motor-Grader, wages to be 93-2¢ per hour for first 200 hours, then $1.10 per hour if his services are satisfactory to the Council. Carried. Moved by Mr. C. C. Campbell that Robert Deans be engaged as machine operator in the North camp: wages to be as stated in above resolution. Carried. Moved by Mr. J A. Ohlhauser that sirs. A. M. Peter- sen be hired as cook for the North camp- wages $165.00 per month. Carried. Alex. Tetz and Clarence Guttridge interviewed the Council regarding employment in the M. D.ts road camps. Mr. Campbell moved that the Council give approval to the lease of z mile of road allowance east of NE- 24- 32 -22 -4 to Tony Litvak. Carried Mr. Schmaltz moved that the Council approve of the lea e to Mr. Harry Holland of 2 mile of road allowance east of SE- 24- 32 -22 -4. Carried. Ohlhauser that the Drumheller Hospital District be offered the sum of $200.00 ;ment of the account of Mrs Janet Walker (deceased) 6 (4) Hospitals Act). Carried. The Council adjourned from 12.15 to 1.15 for It was moved by Mr. Schmelke that A. E. Staite be on the matter of his accounts with Farmers' Exchange, d that he be requested to authorize payment of same icipal District on Staite's behalf. Carried. It was moved by Mr. Schmaltz that A. E. Staite be consulted on the matter of his account with The Workmen's Compensation Board, and that he be reques 'ted to authorize payment f same by the Municipal District on his behalf. Carried. i It was moved by Mr. J. A. Ohlhauser that the Secret- ary and staff be instructed to secure estimates of yields of grain in 1950 in all townships of the Municipal District; and that the data so secured be given to the P.F.A.A. office in Regina, Pask. Carried. Moved by Mr J A Ohlhauser that the account of Barbara chmaltz at the Holy Cross Hospital $60.50 be paid. Mr. Schmaltz reported on the removal of the Carl Schmaltz family from Beiseker to Clyde, Alberta. The Secretary - Treasurer was instructed to make application to the Alberta Government Telephones for the removal Df the second pole north of the C N R. crossing on the east side of 13 -28 -26-»4 to another location, as its present ocation interferes with the new road diversion on the west side of C.N.R. right -of -:,ray in 13- 28- 26.4. Mr. Schmelke moved that the remnants of the old bunk -car be sold to Albert Hiller for 415.00 Carried. Mr J. A. Ohlhauser that holiday bonus at 4 be paid to �lfred ir.ik and Raymond Petersen. Carried. Moved by Mr. Schmelke that By -Law No. 136 be amended as follows: that the price of the snow -wing attachment be given as $1,501.00, instead of X970 00 as shown on Page 3, minutes of Sept ll h, 1950. Carried. Mr. Parry reported to the Council that Mr. R. E. McKay, representative of Armco Drainage and Metal Products, has stated to him that culvert prices were to be increased 5o, and he received a tentative order, duplicating the order given him on Sept. 11th (for Jan. 1951 delivery) Moved by Mr. M. Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that Council approve the application of Fyten Bros. Swalwell, for a trade license to deal in umber and building materials at hE- 4-30 -24 -4. Carried. I Mr. G. G. King, Asst. Mr. Schmaltz and Mr. Ohlhauser reported on their inspect'on of various kinds of steel buildings It was moved by Mr. Schmelke that the Municipal District purchase two lots in Acme, Alberta, from Alex Gaul of Acme Alta. for $75.00, and erect thereon an Armco Steelox Buildin size: 50 ft x 24 ft. x 12 ft. walls. cost $31980.00 and that first reading of By -Law No. 139 to authorize the said businesd be passed and approved. Carried. Second reading given to By -Law No. 139, and it was moved b3 Mr. Ohlhauser that same be passed and approved. Carried Secretary-Treasurer was instructed to advertise this By Law in accordance with Section 200 (2) of The municipal Distric Act. Moved by Mr. J A Ohlhauser that Mr M. Schmaltz and H. Gimbel be appointed as a building committee to supervi e the above work. Carried. by the payment: Carried, The following agents were each granted a hearing ouncil: Mr. Robinson, of Waterous Limited Mr. Fleetham, of Costello Equipment Co. Mr. Forrester, of Cruickshank R.
