E. A. T shack that this Municipal District did not order the
removal'of Toshack's signs on the Carbon -Dry Canyon road.
The Secretary- Treasurer was instructed to pay the
grant o $200.00 to the Drumheller Agricultural Society.

The Secretary - Treasurer reported that he had author -
release of $2,000 of the seizure made on the grain of
Campbell, Beiseker, so that Mr. Campbell would have
buy a truck. moved by Mr. J. A. 6hlhauser that this
>e approved by the Council Carried.
Moved by Mr. S C Schmelke that Mr. Don Adams, of
Trochu, De engaged as operator of the new "AD -4" Motor - Grader;
wages 93 ¢ per hour for first 200 hours, and then increased
to $1.10 per hour. Carried.
Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that the wages of the employees
in the t o road camps be increased to the following schedule.

Clarence Guttridge should be able to make
hospital account this year. Carried.
The Secretary - Treasurer was instructed to advise
Costello; Equipment Co., Edmonton, that the assessment of the
power -sh vel, owned by Costello Equipment Co. and leased by
Mallett Contracting Co. has been considered by the Court of
Revision,and a reduction of 15% authorized. (from $ 5,500 to
X4,675• Card 3379).
Moved by Mr. J. W. Olson that the 1950 dues in the
Alberta 4ssociation of Municipal Districts be paid ($144.00)
and that the seven members of the Council be sent as delegates
to the s4id convention; also that C. J. Christie and A. J.
Purvis be given leave of ddsence to attend said convention.
Carried.
Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that the National Grain Co.
be advis dthat, as their elevator road is built on the
Right-of-Way of the C P R , it is not the responsibility of
this Municipal District; also that this Municipal District
has no old culverts for installation on said road. Carried.
The Secretary - Treasurer was instructed to (a) apply
the proceeds of Mike Miller's labour (22 hours) on his taxes;
and (b) nake a seizure to cover relief advances to Wm. Pirie.j
Mr. Campbell moved that this Municipal District
make an Offer of settlement to the Drumheller Municipal Hospital
for the Mrs. Janet Walker account; the said offer to be for
50% of t e amount owing $287.88. Carried.
Moved by Mr. Schmelke that applications be made
for the layments. of P.F.A.A. awards in 1950 in the following
areas- Tps. 28 -20 -4; 28 -21 -Li ; 30 -26-4, 31- 26-»4, 32• -26 -4 and
34 -24 -4 i Carried.

! Mr. R. E. MacKay, representative of Armcoe
Metal ad Drainage Products, Edmonton, interviewed the Council
re Ste x buildings and culverts, and was given an order
for met culverts.
Moved by Mr. J A. Ohlhauser that correspondence
be filed. Carried.
Mr. C J Christie, Assistant Secretary - Treasurer
submitted a report of the additional assessment in 1950 of
land, buildings and personal property. Moved by Mr. F. C. Peter-
sen that said report be accepted. Carried.
Moved by Mr J A Ohlhauser that the Municipal
District purchase from Waterous Limited Calgary, a Snow -Wing
attachment for "AD -4" Motor Grader for 970.00, FOB Calgary
delivery as soon as possible; and that first reading of
By -Law No 136 to authorize said purchase be passed and approved.
Carried.

Mr J. W. Olson some be passed and approved. Carried
Third reading given By-Law No. 136, and moved by
Mr. Campbell same be passed and approved. Carried..
Mr Philip, representing British Buildings, met
the coupp it and quoted figures on costs, etc of half -round
steel buildings.
Mr. Parry reported on his investigations into the
matter of a building in Acme to house the "AD -411 Motor- Grader
two suitable lots can be purchased from Alex. Gaul for $75.00
each.
Mr. S C Schmelke moved that Mr. Ohlhauser and
Mr. Schmaltz be appointed to go to Calgary and inspect steel
buildings at British Steel Buildings, Westeel Products, and
elsewhere. Carried.
Mr Cutmore, owner of NW- 12- X32 -22 -4, met with
Council e permit to burn swaths Mr Schmaltz moved that no
permits e issued to burn stubble this fall. Carried
Jon Atkinson. Carbon, met with the Council re hauling
culverts, also pit -run gravelling.
The Report of the Inspector of the Department of
Municipal Affairs was read, and it was moved by Mr. Schmaltz
that said report be acknowledged and adopted, and a receipting
machine purchased as recommended in the said report. Carried.
First reading was given to By -Law No 137, being a
by -law t authorize the ytrchase of a Massey - Barris Mower
from C Diede for $338.35, and it was moved by Mr. Schmaltz
that sa be approved
Second reading given By --law No 137, and moved by
S C Sc elke that same be approved. Carried
Third reading given By -Law No. 137, and moved by
Mr. Campbell that same be approved. Carried
Mr. Parry reported on the investigation made by
him and Mr. Schmelke into the road lying east of Sections
13 and - 28 -24 -4. Moved by Mr Schmaltz that report be
accepted. Carried.

j Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that the wages of W. D. Gentle-
man G G. King, C J Christie and A J Purvis be increased
by 12.00 per month each, as from September lst, 1950. Carried.
Moved by Mr. J W. Olson that the following locations
be put qn the list of locations where surveys are required:
NE- 31- 30 -22 -4 and SW- 17- 30 -22 -4 Carried.
Mr. G. G King, Asst. Secretary- Treasurer, submitted
the pay-sheets and it was moved by Mr. J W Olson that same be
passed f.or payment. Carried.
Mr King also submitted Public Works statement, and
it was moved by Mr. Campbell that same be adopted Carried.
