Third reading was given to By -Law 10 127, being
to provide for the sale of Lot 1, Block 3, Huxley,
E Johnson for 4$25.00, cash. It was moved by Mr.
mpbell that third reading of this By -Law be approved.
The Demand of the Income Tax Department for the
deducti n of the sum of $189.68 from the wages of Mr. C. J.
Christia was read; and it was moved by Mr. F. C. Petersen
that th's demand be accepted, and deductions as the rate of
1$20.00 :)er month be made, and paid to the Income Tax Office,
Calgary; Alberta. Carried.
The Secretary- Treasurer was instructed to invest-
igate t e matters reported in the letter of Mrs. Alma Friesin
on Apri 27th, 1950.
It was moved by Mr. J. A. Ohlhauser that permiss-
ion be ranted to the Prairie Bible Institute to construct
a tunne under the roadway between SE- 1- 32 -24 -4 and SW- 6- 32 -23 -4
and tha the said construction be under the supervision of
Mr. F. Petersen Carried.
The Secretary - Treasurer read an offer to purchase
Lots 16,17,18,19 and 23, all in Block 2, Hamlet of Hesketh,
for $25.00, cash, submitted by Ernest R. Petersen, of Hesketh,
Alberta It was moved by Mr J W 011on that this offer be
accepted, and the Council proceed to pass a By -Law to provide
for the said sale. Carried.
First reading given to By -Law No 129, and
moved b Mr. Olson that same be approved
Second reading given to By -Law No. 129, and
moved b7 Mr. Ohlhauser that same be approved. Carried.
Moved by Mr. J W. Olson that Mr. J. A. Ohlhauser
be auth rized to negotiate with Ernest Fox for the leasing
of part of SE- 14- 29 -23 -4, formerly owned by W. A. Braisher.
Carried.
It was moved by Mr. J. A Ohlhauser that the
Secretary-Treasurer be authorized to secure legal advice
in drawing up a contract between The Prairie Bible Institute
and this Municipal District to cover the construction of the
tunnel referred to above. Carried.
It was moved by Iyir. J. W. Olson that holiday
bonus of $120.00 be paid to H. J Gimbel on his 1949 work
(Calculation. 4% of $3,000.00). Carried.
Moved by Mr. J A Ohlhauser that the correspond-
ence be filed for reference. Carried.
The Council adjourned from 12.15 to 1 20 p.m. for
dinner.

and Metal Products interviewed the Council, and was given an
order for metal culverts-

Mr. R Templeton, representing the Council of the
>f Trochu, interviewed the Council on the matter of

Mr. C. W. Edwards and Mr. Alfred Gibson interviewed
the Council on the matter of the improvement of the road east
of 18 -19 and 30- 30 -23 -4. Council promised to inspect this
location and give it further consideration.
Hr. P. J. Rock interviewed the Council on the matter
of a gra t to the Drumheller Agricultural Society, also
expressel appreciation for the work done in 1949 on the Dinosaur y`
trail. loved by Mr. J. A. Ohlhauser that a grant of $200.00 be
made to the Drumheller Agricultural Society in 1950. �%arried.
Mr. IIcArthur and five others interviewed the Council
on the matter of the gravelling and other improvements to the
Sharples North road (12 miles) and the Sharples- Carbon road.
Mr F C Petersen moved that the Council inspect this location
tomorrow (May 9th, 1950) Carried.
Messrs. S. Gibson and R. Snell interviewed the Council
on the matter of road North of 10- 30 -23 -4. They were informed
by Mr. g A. Ohlhauser that nothing can be done on this location
until fall if 1950.
Mr. E. H. Van Wart interviewed the Council on the
matter oC an approach to hE- 9- 29 -24 -4. Mr. J. A. Ohlhauser
informed him that a 15" culvert would be installed at this
location. also a 24" culvert on the road allowance.
Mr Gathercole, representing Westeel Products Ltd.
interviewed the Council, and was given an order for 56 feet of
18" metal culvert for Division No 4.
Major Steele, of The Salvation Army, interviewed the
Council and gave an outline of the activities of The Salvation
Army, anI made an appeal for a grant to this organization.
Moved by Mr. F. C. Petersen that a grant of $700 00 be made to
The Salvation Army in 1950. Carried.
Mr. Forrester, representing Richardson Road Machinery
Co. Ltd. interviewed the Council; also the following agents:
Mr. Jensen, of Industrial road Equipment Ltd
Mr. Fleetham, of Costello Equipment Co. Ltd.
Mr. N. S. Ellithorpe, of Sundre Contracting Co.
Moved by Mr. S. C. Schmelke that payments be made to
election officials: 8 00 to Deputy Returning Officers and X6.00
to Poll �lerks. Carried

The Council assembled at the 1dunicipal Office at
and then took a trip which included inspection of

The Council met in the municipal Office at 1.00 p.m.
for the t ansaction of regular municipal business.
Mr. S C Schmelke and iMr. C. C. Campbell reported
on their interview with the Council of the Municipal District
of •Ionnta'nview I o. 49. They recomauend that a delegation be
sent to E monton to interview the Minister of Public Works
on the ma ter of having the Provincial Government take over
the Olds- rochu Town line as a provincial highway. It was
moved by vlr. A. Schmaltz that the report be accepted, and
that IMr. Parry and Mr S C Schmelke be appointed as
represent tives of this 1,111micipal District to interview the
14inister f Public Works on this matter Carried.
Mr. C. C Campbell moved that Road Diversion plan
No. 4568 in IOW- 33-33 -23 -4 be cancelled. Carried.
iMr. 1,1' Scl-unaltz moved that the ,ur.iicipal District 3ae4A
purchase sufficient land from SF- 13- 28 -26 -1f to provide for a#AA
�a roadway 5 rods wide parallel with and adjacent to the West
side of the C.N.R. right -of -way, and that the owner of the said
land be o fered compensation at $60.00 per acre. Carried.

Mr. W. D. Gentleman, Field Supervisor, interviewed the
Council, and discussed various activities of his work. He
informed the Council that the Provincial Government has a
machine for spraying of road - sides, and that they would like to
demonstrate its use in this Aunicipal District. It was moved
by Mr S C Schmelke that the Council endorse this idea, and
ask the rovincial Government to include this Municipal Dist-
rict in is program. Carried.
It was moved by Mr. iYiatt Schmaltz that the Sw- 14-29 -26-4
be withd awn from the control of the Agricultural Service Bd.
Carried.
It was moved by Mr. S. C. Schmelke that Council do
now adjo rn. Carried.
