It was moved by Mr. Schmaltz that the assignment of 050.00 per month, made by William Howell in favor of Treasury Branch, E nora, Alberta, be accepted, and deductions made from William well's earnings at the rate of $50 00 per month for 10 months Carried It was moved by Mr. Schmaltz that the letter from the DepartmenIt of Agriculture regarding the establishment of an Experimen al Station in the Acme area be turned over to the Agricnitu al Service Board. Olson that the Kelly -Lucy Adjust - ice, Calgary, Alta. be requested to furnish us with a statement of their settlement of the Howell -Maerz and claim. Carried. It was moved by I,ir. C. C. Campbell that Les Courville be engaged to build a trailer bunk -car for use of the operator of the I'M-91911 motor - grader. Carried. Mr. A. E Sta.ite was present, and offered to buy the old bunk car for 50% of its original cost. A delegation of three men, representing the Swalwell Board of Trade and the Swalwell Comr: unity Centre, were present, and ruqu sted that the Municipal District cancel a charge of X120 00 for 20 hours work with tractor .(_@$6.00 per hour). It was movel by 1ir. Ohlhauser that, as the Hamlet of Swalwell has a considerable unexpended balance for public works prior to 1949, the charge of 4120.00 for tractor work be cancelled. Carried. Mr Walter Haining and Mr. G 1�i Brown interviewed the Coun it on the matter of P.F.A. payments in 29 -25 -4 and 30- in 5 -4. It was moved by Mr. Schmaltz that a request be made to he P F.A. officials for a review of the following area: S ctions 3- 10- 15- 22 -27 -34 in 29 -25 -4, and Sections 3 -10 -15 30 -25 -4. Carried. Five residents of Twp 33 -25 -4 interviewed the Council on the M t ter of P.F.A. payments in 33 -25 -4, and it was moved by Mr. S rmelke that the P.F.A. officials be requested to review the foll wing area. Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that the following representatives be sent o the Conference of Agricultural Service Boards, Edmonton, March 28 29, 1950: Matthew Schmaltz, F. C. Petersen and W. D. Gentlema . Carried. It was moved by lair. Schmalke that W. D. Gentleman be instruct d to make purchases of Brome -Grass seed for the seeding of road llowances in 1950 Carried. ,Moved by 1dr. C. C. Campbell that N2 and SE -� of Sec. 13- 1 -26 -4 be leased to Paul Weigum for years 1950.1951 and 19521 th said land to remain under the possession and control of AgriciLltural Service Board and subject to system of cropping to be ar anged by the said Board Carried Moved by Mr. Parry that approval be given to the applicat on of Ralph Megli for a license to operate an electric- al business in the Hamlet of Linden. Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that the report of the Inspector of IIecha'ical Branch, Department of Public Works, on the Three Hills m icipal shop, be turned over to the Building Committee for atte tion. Toivo Anderson I Moved by Mr. Schmalke that William Pirie be authorized a relief allowance of X15.00 per month at The White Spot Store in Wimbo ne, also that he be supplied with a load of coal, and his hosp tal bill paid by the Municipal District. A delegation representing the Town of Three Hills, consisting of Mayor E. P. Foster, Adam Young, secretary - treasurer, and Coun illors Smith and Waterbury interviewed the Council, and requ sted the Council to take steps to have the area in SE-27-31..24-4 flooded by the dam to be surveyed and charted. The Secr tary- Treasurer was instructed to request the P F R A office i Regina, Sask. to do this work. Moved by Mr. Schmelke that Enumerators be paid X1.00 per hour and 10¢ per mile. Carried. Mr E Fleetham, representing Costello Equipment Co. Ltd., in erviewed the Council Mr. Forrester, representing Richardson Road Machinery Co Ltd interviewed the Council. It was moved by 1vr. Ohlhauser that the offer of Bertram . Charlebois, of Carbon, Alberta to purchase part of SE-14-2-9-23-4 (2 acres, more or less) for Forty 00 /100 Dollars 040.00) cash, be accepted, and that Council proceed to pass a by -law to authorize the said sale. Carried. Messrs. Adams, Fox and Neher, representing the Car- bon Lions Club interviewed the Council, and reported that the said club had paid out approximately $700 00 on behalf of two children in the Carbon community (Hermanson and Bitz child) and there is still approximately 6700.00 to be paid. They asked thB Council to make a grant towards this work.
