the Albe to Association of Municipal Districts be paid.

I It was moved by Mr Ohlhauser that Mr. G. G. King
Assistan� Secretary - Treasurer, be authorized to attend the
1949 con ention of A. A? M. D. Carried.
Secretary - Treasurer was instructed to repeat the
application for assistance from the Department of Public
Works in the matter of Culvert on road allowance South of
SW -6 -3M- 3 -4. (Paget bridge.) Carried.
Mr. Carl Steinbach (owner of NE- 14- 28 -22 -4 and
SE-23-28..22-4) and Mr. Robert Bertsch (owner of NW- 14- 28 -22 -4)
and SW-21-28-22-4) were present. Mr. Steinbach made an
appeal to the Council for the building of the road between
Sections 13-24 and 14- 23- 28 -22 -4. It was moved by Mr. Ohlh-
auser th t a Committee of Mr. Schmaltz, Mr. Petersen, Mr.
Olson and Mr. H. J. Gimbel be appointed to inspect this loca-
tion, and report to a later meeting of the Council on the
matter. Carried.
It was moved by Mr. Olson that the letter from
Farmers= Union of Alberta regarding rest -room for Drumheller
be tabled. Carried.
The Secretary - Treasurer read the Inspector Report
made by Mr. Bruce Ramsay on July 15th, 1949. It was moved
by Mr. S hmaltz that said report be acknowledged, and placed
on file, and that Reeve send letter of acknowledgement to
the Department of Municipal Affairs. Carried.
It was moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that Secretary - Treasurer
be autho ized to purchase a Cash Receipting machine, as
recommen ed by the said Inspector's report. Carried.
Mr. Mason, from Hamlet of Torrington, was present,
and inte viewed the Council on the matter of the Hamletts
appropri tion for public works.
Mr. Campbell moved that correspondence be filed for
referent . Carried.

Mr, J A. Findlay, Child Welfare inspector, reported
to the C uncil on his work on behalf of the Carl Schmaltz family
of Beise er, Alberta,
Mr. Forrester, representative of Cruickshank Road
Machiner Company Limited, interviewed the Council
Mr. F. B. Connors, District Engineer, Department of
Public Works, interviewed the Council on the matter of distrib-
ution of the additional grant of $4,062 recently made available
by the P3,ovincial Government. Moved by Mr. Petersen that said
grant be accepted, and that it be distributed as follows:

the late Dr. Weart. Mr. Hutcheson requests that a reduction

31- 26*»4. Moved by Mr. Petersen that this request be refused.

It was moved by Mr. Schmaltz that the Secretary -
Treasure be authorized to hold a Tax Sale in 1949 of those
lands within the Municipal District which are subject to
sale in accordance with the provisions of The Tax Recovery
Act, Ca Tied.
The Secretary - Treasurer submitted a list of

It was moved by Mr. C C Campbell that these
taxes be cancelled in accordance with Section 333-A
icipal District Act, and that Council approve the
ing of By -Law No. 118 to provide for said cancella-
ried.
It was moved by Mr. Petersen that second reading of
By-Law No. 118 be passed and approved. Carried.
It was moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that the Secretary-
Treasurer be instructed to have the electric motor in the
pump -hou e at Swalwell repaired, or if advisable replaced
with a n w motor. Carried.
It was moved by Mr. Petersen that Martin Petersen
be engaged as cook for the "North Camp" as from Sept. 1, 19497
and that'he be paid $150 00 per month wages. Carried.
It was moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that Cecil McArthur
be engaged as operator of the Huber Maintainer in the South
Camp as rom Aug, 29, 1949, and that he be paid $1.00 per hr.
