It was moved by Mr. C C. Campbell that the Secretary-
^ be instructed to attend the hearing of Fuller's
Lnst the Municipal District, also that the Secretary -
c be authorized to engage legal advice on this matter,
Ls considered necessary. Carried.
It was moved by Mr. J A. Ohlhauser that $178.90
insuranc premium be paid to Mr. S F Torrance, Carbon, being
renewal f insurance on municipal machinery. Carried.
It was moved by Mr. Petersen that the arrangements
made to have The Linden Home at Swalwell, and St Mary's Hosp-
ital, at Trochu, provide "Shelter" facilities under the Child
Welfare ket be approved and sanctioned by the Council. Carried.
It was moved by Mr. Petersen that the payment of
$7,300. 00 made by Costello Equipment Co., Calgary as full
payment for one #212 Caterpillar Motor Grader be accepted
and approved. Carried.
It was moved by Mr. Schmaltz that Imperial Oil Ltd.,
Edmonton, be advised that this Municipal District has no
agreement with the Acme Fire Department, and that this Municipal
District accepts no responsibility for the costs of the trip
made to Linden by the said fire department. Carried.
It was moved by Mr. Ohihauser that the Board of
Public Utility Commissioners be paid $2.50 costs in connection
with the cancellation of part of the Swalwell Townsite for site
for the Swalwell Curling Rink; also that the Swalwell Curling
Rink be charged for costs incurred in this matter. Carried.
It was moved by Mr. C. C. Campbell that $506.60 be
paid to the Canadian Pacific Railway Company for used bridge
timber. Carried.
The Council adjourned for dinner at 12.15 noon, and
resumed business at 1.30 p.m.
Mr. G. G King, Assistant Secretary - Treasurer, sub-
mitted the work - sheets, and it was moved by Mr. F C Petersen
that all pay - sheets approved by the Councillor concerned be
now passed for payment. Carried.
A deputation of five ladies, with Mrs. Foster Boles
as spokesman, interviewed the Council and expressed dissatis-
faction with the condition of the roads listed below:

The Council promised that the matters in complaint
investigated without delay
A request from Mr. Jewel, the Government road -man, to
have th 111211 Motor Grader operated by Paul Elvin to do wome
work on Highway No. 21 was refused.
It was moved by Mr. Schmaltz that the Secretary- Treas-
urer be instructed to garnishee I. E. Price's wages with his
employei Mr. Albert Gieck, and same applied on his indebtedness
with th s Municipal District. Carried.
It was moved by Mr. Schmelke that John Penner of Sunny -
slope, e paid $3.00 costs for taking animal to pound Carried.

A deputation of three ratepayers from the Sunnyslope
(C C Pauls, M I Charleton and Roy Milne) inter -
ie Council on the matter of the gravelling of the road
Stuart School four miles south. It was moved by Mr.
ipbell that application be made for a Government Grant
)n this location. Carried.
Mr. Parry reported that there is need of a nuisance
ground for the Hamlet of Sunnyslope. Moved by Mr. Parry that
the are lying east of Road Diversion No. 1614 West of the
NWJ of 13-31-26.4 be set aside for this purpose. Carried.
The Secretary- Treasurer was instructed to find out
who is being paid the Family Allowance for the children of
Wm R Ferguson, Drumheller, Alta.
Mr. Donald L. Smith, owner of the Three Hills Air -port,
interviewed the Council, and reported that he has leased from
the Prairie Bible Institute 38.16 acres of SW- 6- 32 -23r -4 for use
as a landing field for his air -port. This land is at present
exempt from taxation by reason of tax exemption granted to
the Prairie Bible Institute. Mr. Smith proposed that he pay
taxes on this rented area at the usual rates and levies prevailing
in that part of the Municipal District. It was moved by Mr.
F. C Petersen that this proposal be approved by the Council
and the land assessed and taxes levied on same in 1949. Carried.
Mr. Forrester, representative of Cruikshank Road Mach -
itLery Co., Calgary, interviewed the Council.
Mr. Morrison, representative of Union Tractor & Equip-
ment Co , Calgary interviewed the Council, and discussed the
