The Secretary - Treasurer submitted revised estimates
of Receipts and Expenditures for 1949; and it was moved by
Mr. J A Ohlhauser that said revised estimates be accepted
and approved, Carried.
It was moved by Mr. Matt. Schmaltz that application
be made o the Provincial Government for a grant of $800.00
to assis in the construction of a ditch in SW- 2- 30 -25 -4, the
said ditch to eliminate a 40 ft. 2 span bridge. Carried.
Mr. Robt. Currie interviewed the Council, and asked
that eo ideration be given to the gravelling of the road*
From the Sarcee School south 2 miles, East 1 mile, South 12
mile; E st 2 mile; South 2 mile, and East 2 mile, to join
the Three Hills - Drumheller road at SW corner of 25- 30 -22 -4
The Council adjourned from 12.15 to 1.30 p.m. for
dinner.
Mr. Ellithorpe, representing the Sundre Contracting
Co. of Olds, Alberta, interviewed the Council regarding
gravel work. He was offered the contract to gravel 8 miles
of road (4 miles from the pit on NW- 4- 28- 26.4, and 4 miles
from the pit on N-1-10-370-25-4), at the rates quoted on page 4
of the nutes of March 14th, 1949. This offer of work was
accepted by Mr. Ellithorpe on behalf of his company
Mr. Shaw, of Shaw Construction Co. of Midnapore,
Alberta, interviewed the Council regarding gravel work.
Mr Ohlhauser moved that the Municipal District
purchase approximately 18,000 Bd. ft. of used timber from
C. P. R. at $25.00 per M., and that said timber be stored
in the Carbon shop -yard. Carried.
Mr. C C Cempbell moved that H. L. Duft, of Elnora,
be paid � /per yard for the gravel that will be used on the
Ashcroft road job. Carried.
Mr. W. D. Gentleman, Field Supervisor, interviewed
the Coun il, and reported on recent developments in the matter
of farmi g operations on SW- 14- 29 -26 -4. He recommended that
Mr. Arthir Cormode be asked to relinquish the lease held by
him, so that the present owner (Elmer Fischer) may be able to
cultivat the land and take possession of same, subject to
the Foss ssion and Control order of the Agricultural Service
Board. t was moved by Mr. F C. Petersen that Mr. Gentleman
be autho ized to carry out these recommendations. Carried.
Mr. C C. Campbell reported that he had inspected
the plat orm scales owned by the Municipal District, and
located n the Hamlet of Huxley.

Mr. C. C. Campbell moved that the said set of platform
sold to Mr. E. F Moran, of Kneehill Valley, Alberta,
)0. Carried.
Mr. C. C. Campbell reported that he had investigated
conditio s in the home of Mrs. Kessel, Huxley, and found that
she is ii need of relief and assistance from the Municipal Dist-
rict. M7. Campbell moved that Mrs. Kessel be granted $16.00
per monti relief allowance. Carried.
Moved by Mr. S. C. Schmelke that Donald Stephenson
be engag d as cook for the "North Camp" (from June 11th, 1949)
and that he be paid $150.00 per month wages. Carried.
It was agreed that Thos. Sloan be authorized to have
the gaso ine cook -stove in his bunk -car repaired, or if
advisa.bl , that a new stove be bought.
�It ws moved by Mr. Hugh Parry that Pat Spragg be
paid $16 .65 for gravel taken in 1948. (31393 yds. @ 5�Z).
Carried.'
It was moved by Mr. C. C Campbell that the old
Sawyer -M ssey horse Maintainer No. 4580 be sold to George A.
Cranston Huxley, for $5.00. Carried.
It was moved by Mr. J. A. Ohlhauser that Mr. Fred
Fuller o Carbon, Alberta, be advised that the 69 acres of
land in .E.- 14- 29 -23 -4, now controlled by the Municipal
District may be rented for 1949 for $'25.00. Carried.

The matter of Divisional Allocations for Public Works
(labor & materials) was discussed at some length.
It was then moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that the Allocations
be agreed upon as follows for 1949•

It was moved by Mr. J. W. Olson that application be
made to Lhe Department of Public Works to have the following
roads classified as District Highways,
From S.W. corner of 3028.20 -4. North 2 miles, East
2 mile, hen on to Nacmine. (Via Nacmine Hill)
From N.E. corner of 20.28 -20.4. South 4 miles, gest
4 mile, 4cross Rosebud Creek, and on south to -Beyncrm.
From N.E. corner of 19 -34 -23.4, West 3 miles, and
North 2 ipiles. Carried.
It was moved by Mr. F. C. Petersen that Council do
now adjourn, Carried.
Time: 4.00 p.m.
,after adjournment the entire Council drove to
the Morr n Ferry at Sec. 10- 31.21 -4, and inspected the
recent work done on the "Dinosaur Trail ", which leads in
a south-westerly direction from the Morrin Ferry crossing;
also the Council inspected recent work done on the water-
course a ross N.E.w10- 31.22 -41 4 mile south of Sarcee Butte
School.
