The Council of the Municipal District ofKneehill�oo. 48 held a r gular meeting on Monday the 9th day of Ma y , 1949, start- ing at 1 .00 a.m. Councillors present: John W. Olson, John A. Ohlhauser, Matthew chmaltz, Hugh Parry, F. C. Petersen, S. C. Schmelke and C. C. C pbell. Mr. Ohlhauser reported to the Council that he had inter- viewed D . H. M. Elliott regarding $25.00 charge of the Town of Three Hi is for services of the Three Hills fire brigade. Dr. H. M. Elliott tated that he would settle this charge as soon as he has received settlement from the insurance company. Moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that the minutes of the meeting held on Aril 4th, 1949 be adopted and approved. Carried. Moved by Mr. Olson that Mr. Ohlhauseris report of Dr. Elliottxs fire be adopted. Carried. Carried. Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that Mr. Olson and MR. Petersen investigate conditions in the household of Wm. R. Ferguson, in the Gh&st Pine area. Carried. Moved by Mr. S. C. Schmelke that the account of Peter Koatiniuk in the Calgary General Hospital ($177 :70) be paid. Carried. Moved by Mr. S. C. Schmelke that the account of the St. Mary's Hospital ($20.00) for maintenance of Viola Kraft, Wimbornel be paid. EM 2-3-- Mr. A. R. Fuller, of Carbon, was present and interviewed the Counccil on the matter of accident to his car on Feb. 8th, 1949 also on he matter of a sub -way for livestock on Diversion in NW -7 -30— 2�4. Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that Mr. , Mr. J. A Ohlhauser & Mr. H. J Gimbel investigate this Sub-way and give a report on same at next Council meeting. Carried. The Council adjourned from 12,30 noon to 1.55 P•'u• It was moved by Mr. F. Mr, John Atkinson, of Carbon, interviewed the Council, and wishes to rent the "Low -Boy" Trailer for occasional work during the summer of 1949? and will replace any breakages that may occur during his use of same, Mr. J. W. Olson moved that this machine be rented to Mr. Atkinson for $1,00 per hour. Carried. Ohlhauser that Matt Kary Jr, be engaged as employee in the "South Camp", to be paid A50 per hour for first 200 hours, and then $1. per work and services are satisfactory. Carried. i�liam Howell Foreman met with the Council and was told tha it is the Councilts wish that Thos. Sloan rtmai in the capa ity of Sub - foreman of the "North Camp", and Henry Ga S ty of Torrington would be given the job of operating the M -99 atrol. William Howell was asked to provide his own transportation between his home and the camp. Mr J. E. Frere, and Mr. Arvo Niemi of Trochu, inter- viewed t e Council on the matter of the building of a Seed - cleaning plant in Trochu. They reported as follows: Cost of plant $3 ,000- Farmers to subscrive $10,000, Govt. $1010001 and M. Petersen that the wages of the cooks ro camps be increased to $150 00 per month, effective 1949. Carried. Moved by Mr. J. A. Schmelke moved that Henry Ganske of Torring- ton be engaged as employee in the North Camp, to be paid 85¢ per hour for first 200 hours, and then $1.00 per hour if his work and services are satisfactory.
