Petersen that Road Survey M.D. in NE -32 -30 -23..4 be cancelled, and notification cancellation be made to the Surveys Branch, Dept. of orks, Edmonton, Alberta. Carried. It was moved by Mr. J. A . Ohlhauser that an order for 90 gallons of Anti- freeze be placed with the Alberta Assoc- iation 6f Municipal Districts, Edmonton, Alta. Carried. It was moved by Mr. J. A. Ohlhauser that the Con- solidation agreement between the Municipal District of Kneehill No. 48 and Mrs. Bertha Peck, Drumheller for arrears of taxes on 5».29 -21 -4 be cancelled. (No payments made in 1947 and 1948 Carried. It was moved by Mr. F. C. Petersen that Mr. Schmaltz and Mr. Christie be appointed to investigate conditions on &2J-_5-29--21-4, and to report at the next meeting of Council. Carried It was moved by Mr. F. C. Petersen that the Reeve and Secretary-Treasurer be authorized to sign the Franchise to authorize Canadian Utilities Limited to supply electric power to the Ghost Pine area of this Municipal District. Carried It was moved by Mr. S. C. Schmelke that application be made to Canadian Utilities Limited to supply 6 street lights for Hamlet of Torrington, and 4 street lights for Hamlet of Wimborne. Carried. It was moved by Mr* C. C. Campbell that the Municipal District accept the shipment of Snow -wing attachment for the "M -99" Motor Grader from Armco Drainage and Metal Products Ltd. Edmonton, Alta. It was moved by Mr. S. C. Schmelke that Mr. Ohlhauser be delegated to investigate the matters referred to letter from Mr. Samuel H. Adams, viz.: indigent relief for Steve Simon and Peter Kostiniuk, Carbon, Carried. It was moved by Mr. M. Schmaltz that the matter of Mr. A. R. Fuller's accident be given to Millican and Millican, Calgary Alta. for counsel. Carried. Mr, W. D. Gentleman, Field Supervisor, interviewed the Co cil, and asked for instructions in ordering supplies for Gra s- hopper control. It was moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that Mr. Gentleman and Mr. Olson be delegated to make the necessary arrangements and to order the necessary supplies for a Grass- hopper dontrol project. Carried. Moved by Mr. C. C. Campbell that 1,500 -2,000 lbs. of Crested Wheat Grass Seed be purchased from C. F. Ward, of Grainger, Alta. for use in seeding road sides. Carried. Mr, J. R. Morrison, representative of Union Tractor & Equipment Co., Calgary, interviewed the Council. Mr. R. A. Murray, representing the Huxley Branch of the Canadian Legion, interviewed the Council, and requested that a certain area of the Huxley Cemetery be reserved for the Legion. Cdr. Schmlatz moved that Mr. C. C. Campbell be delegated to meet with the Legion on this matter, and to report to next Council meeting. Carried. Mr. Murray also informed the Council that plans are under way for the building of a Community Curling rink in Huxley, the said rin8 to be built in Block 9 on Lots 11 -12 -13 and 24 -25, and the proposed rink will extend across the lane separat ng Lots :& 13 and Lo 24 & 25. made to for the Huxley Lots 11 Council Meeting on March 14th, 1949. Campbell that application be the Board of Public Utility Commissioners, Edmonton, cancellation of 75 feet of the land in Block 9 of own -site; being the 75 feet of lane lying south of 12 and 13. Carried. It was moved by Mr. M. Ohlhauser that the estimates be accepted, and a rate of Nineteen (19) / mills for Municipal purposes in 1949 be authorized. Carried. Carried. Third reading given to By -Law No. 109, and moved by Mr. Campbell that same be passed. Carried. Mr. E. R. Fleetham, respresenting Costello Equipment Company, Calgary, interviewed the Council. He showed cuts of Tournapull machines, and offered to bring one of these machines in on approval, also offered to take Committee of the Council to Leduc oil- fields to see these machines in operation. Moved by Mr. S hmaltz that this invitation be accepted, and that Mr, Pete sen, Mr. Ohlhauser and the two foremen be appointed a Committe for this urposeo Carried. (Date: March 23rd from Carbon a 9.00 a. m. , Mr. Forrester, representing Cruickshank Road Mach- inery Co pany, Calgary, was present and interviewed the Council. The matt r of breakages to the Rotary Snow -Plow was discussed, and Mr, orrester agreed to install a slip- clutch on the snow- plow, an allow $25.00 credit for the work involved in installi,g same. Two representatives of the Sundre Contracting Co., Sundre, (Phone 2116 or 2119 Olds) was present, and quoted the following rates for gravel work in 1949: at the rict. G. King, Asst. Secretary - Treasurer, reported that $1, 41 has been subscribed by the farmers north and west of Swalw 11 for the gravelling between Swalwell and the Linden Cheese f ctory. Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that application be made for a gr nt of $1,041 under the" "Three -'Nay Plan" for this work. Carried. Mr. C. C. Campbell moved that first reading be given to By -La No. 107 (A By -Law to provide for the sale of Lots 71819 10 11,12 13,18,19 20 and 21, Block 5, Huxley, Plan 6680 AP, for $10. 0 cash). Carried. Second reading given to By -Law No. 107, and moved by Mr. Ohlhauser that same be passed. Carried. Mr. G. G. King, Asst. Secretary - Treasurer, submitted the pay- sheets for the month of February, 1949; and it was moved by Mr. C C. Campbell that the pay - sheets which have been approved by the C uncillor concerned be now passed for payment. It was moved by Mr. Schmaltz that Mr. Jack Ceefried be informed that his claim for damages arising out of accident is refused by the Council. Carried. It was moved by Mr. Schmaltz that the Reeve and Secretar Treasurer be given authority to have roads banned, if and w en same becomes advisable. Carried. It was moved by Mr. Schmaltz that recommendation be made to jhe Game Branch, Dept. of Lands & Mines, that a permit to trap uskrats be issued to Oscar Caron: (location Sections 21 and 2 t Tp. 28, Rge. 25, West 4 M.) Carried. It was moved by Mr. Campbell that recommendation be made to 1he Game Branch, Dept. of Lands & Mines, that Bob Lauder be given permission to capture beavers on the Ghost Pine Creek at 23-34-24.4, and remove the beavers elsewhere.
