The Council of the Municipal District of Kneehill #48 held a r gular meeting on Monday the 9th day of February, 19481 starting at 10.30 a.m. M. S Council for the Councillors present- J. W Olson, J. A. Oh.lhauser, tz, H. Parry, S. C. Schmelke and C. C. Campbell. for montj Gouldie Mr. Ohl residen Councillor absent- F. C. Petersen. Moved by 1r. Campbell that the minutes of the last eting be approved. Carried. The Secretary- Treasurer read the Financial Statement ,nth of January, 1948. I D. #42 ret Isolation hospital re: Motor Grader Mr. Schmaltz moved that the application of Mrs. Lily or Yotherst Allowance be tabled, until such. time as user secures additional information respecting her in this Hunicipal District. Carried. Mr. Campbell moved that recommendation be made to VMotherst Allowance Dept. that allowance of Mrs. Adamson be increased to $45.00 per month, Carried Council Meeting Feb. 9th, 1948. Page 2. Mr. Schmaltz moved that the account of $187.50 submitted by the Superannuation Board of the Alberta Association of Municipal District Office Employees be paid. Carried Mr. Campbell moved that an advance of $10,000 00 on the 1;48 requisition be paid to Wheatland School Division No. 40, Carried, Mr. Ohlhauser moved that the management of the Calgary General Hospital be informed of the state of affairs in the estate of John Bolton (deceased). Carried. Mr. Schmalj6ke moved that the account of $10.001 submitted by the C. N R. for transfer charges, be paid. Carried. Mr. Olson moved that the portion of the road diversion in 5E- 29.28 -21 -4� which runs east and west from I.P.P.R. 11 and I.P. R. 1, be cancelled. (Survey No, 9005). Carried. V Mr. Schmaltz moved that compensation be offered to the regi tered owners of SW- 15- 30 -25 -4 for 3.44 acres of land @ $30.00 per acre. Carried. J Mr. David Falkenberg interviewed the Counci.17 and reported that one Chris Ruppelq aged 66 yrs. was in need of care, as he is aria, le to work and is destitute. Mr. Campbell moved that Secretary be instructed to take steps to have this man lodged in either the Linden Home? Swalwell, or the Salvation Army Hom 7 Gleichen. Carried. IA plan of construction of the Dam on the Three Hills Creek iniSE- 27- 31 -24 -4 was submitted for approval; and it was moved byMr, Schmaltz that said plans be approved and Reeve and Sec etart- Treasurer authorized to sign same. Carried. Mr. Campbell bell moved that the application of 11rs. A. Vasseur for Old Age Pension be approved. Carried. Mr. Campbell moved that the application of Mrs. IA. McElheram for Old Age Pension be approved. Carried. Mr. Schmelke moved that the application of Mr. Michael Weigum fbr Old Age Pension be approved. Carried. Mr. Olson moved the account of $36.80 submitted lb-%T the D umheller Y11r i_cipal Hospital District for operation costs of Isolation wa:rd7 be paid. Carried. The Secretary - Treasurer read a report from R. C Riceq pound-keeper, advising of the sale of one horse to Arthur Grusie on Jan. 179 1948, Total amount realized $30 00; Expenses $12.75; Net return $17.25. Moved by Mr. Schmelke that this report be accepted and approved. Carried. A letter from Mrs. E. F. Templeton, 2425 Glen Drive, Vancouve B. C. was readq advising the Council that she will accept $H.05 as compensation for 2 23 acres of land taken for road diversion in 5E- 26- 34 -24 -4. Moved by Mr. Campbell that this off r of compensation be accepted, and payment authorized Carried, The Secretary- Treasurer read a report from Fred Vickers, Pound-keeper, advising that $38.80 had been collected from John Mra , Nacmine. It was moved by Mr. Olson that this amount be disbursed as follows. To Mr. Jensen for award for damages $20.00; o Fred Vickers for pound - keeper's expenses $4.75; to John raz for balance $14.05• Carried. Mr. Schmelke moved that the resignation of Mr. Gottlieb Pound- keeper at SW- 3- 32 -25 -4 be accepted; and that Mr 3erz be appointed Pound- keeper to operate a pound at the ition (SW- 3- 32- 25 -4). Carried. Mr. Ohlhauser reported that he had arranged for the sale of the 2 ton Chevrolat truck to Mr. Paul Elvin for $1,000.00; and it w s moved by Mr. Schmaltz that this report be accepted and sale authorized accordingly. Carried. Mr. Bothwell, representing Union Tractor & Equipment Co., int rviewed the Council. It was moved by Mr. Schmaltz that the Muni ipal District purchase from Union Tractor & Equipment Co. one ew 11212" Caterpillar Yotor Grader, equipped with Tandem Drive, C b, Hood Doors, Right End Extension, Left End Extension, Cab Heat r, Lighting System with Battery,gS;artin A System, Scarifie., Wind - shield Wiper and Fuel Gau e• for 5.00 F.O.B. Carbon to be paid as follows: 1. By the delivery to the Union Tractor & Equipment Co. of ote used No. 11 Caterpillar Motor Grader for which the sum of $5,100.00 shall be allowed, 2. By a payment of $5,915.00, cash. Carried. Mr. Schmaltz moved that By -Law No. 91 be given first reading And passed. Carried. Mr. Campbell moved that By-Law No. 91 be given second reading nd passed. Carried. Mr. Ohlhauser moved that By -Law No. 91 be given third reading *nd passed. Carried. f Mr. Fleetham, representing Costello Equ:_pment Co. interviewed the Council. It was moved by Mr Ohlhauser that the Municipal District purchase from Costello Equipment Co. one new tetourneau Cable Power Unit and Neck (to fit D -7 Caterpil ar Tractor) for $12072.00 cash. Carried. Mr. Ohlhauser moved that By -Law No. 92 be given first reading and passed. Carried. Mr. Olson moved that By -Law No. 92 be given second reading nd passed.. Carried. Mr. Campbell moved that By -Law Ivo. 92 be given third reading and passed. Carried. I Mr. Ohlhauser moved that the Municipal District purchase a centri ugal water pump from H. J. Gimbel for $100.00. Carried. Mr. C. C. Campbell moved that the pay- shetts which have been app,oved by the Councillors be now passed for payment.
