allowance of $10.00 per month be transferred to Big Valley,
Alta. Carried,
Moved by Mr. Schmelke that the Council approve of
the application of J K Grusie for a License to operate a
Garage in Torrington, Alta. Carried.
The report of Dr. Lambert, M. H. 0. on his inspection
of the Hesketh slaughter house was read. Mr. G. G. King,
Asst, Secy, Treas, also reported on this matter, Moved by
Mr, Schmaltz that the reports be accepted, and notice taken
of the recommendation that certain work be done in the
spring, Carried.

SW-2-30-25-4; the said channel to make it possible to do away
with a kridge on the road allowance between SW- 2- 30 -25 -4 and

Moved by Mr. Petersen that application be made to
the Department of Public Works for Culverts to replace bridges
at the following locations:
East of 25- 31 -23 -4 East side of NE- 4- 30 -22 -4
East of 5- 31 -22 -4
Between 8 and 9- 28 -22 -4
Between 25 and 26- 32 -25 -4
Between 0-13 and NE- 14- 33 -24 -4 Carried.
Moved by Mr. Parry that approval be given to the
applica ion of Sam Toews for a License to operate a shoe repair
shop at Linden. Carried.
Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that the Contract between the
Municip 1 District and the Drumheller Municipal Hospital Dist-
rict be accepted, and the Reeve and Secretary - Treasurer author-
ized to sign the same, when the amendments mentioned in
Mr. V1il on's letter of Nov. 177 1947, viz. (a) $200.00
maximum liability, (b) limiting the scope of the area,
are add 1d to the contract. Carried.

Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that $40.00 Convention
expenses be paid to each member of the Council and to the
Secretary- Treasurer. Carried.
Mrs. Speelman and Miss Fortier, representing the
Trochu Bospital Aid Society, interviewed the Council, and made
an appeal for assistance to their Society. Moved by Mr. Peter-
sen that a grant of $$100.00 be made to the Trochu Hospital Aid
Society. Carried.
Mr. R E McKay, representing Armco Metal and Drain-
age Products, interviewed the Council, and it was moved by
Mr Ohl. user that an order be placed for the following cul-

interviewed the Council,
Mr. Gordon Taylor, M L A , interviewed the Council

that the pay- sheets be passed for payment. Carried.
Moved by Mr. Petersen that the public works statement be
approved. Carried,
Moved by Mr. Petersen that the Secretary- Treasurer
be instructed to notify Ernest Wilson that his services are
no longer required by the Municipal District. Carried.
Mr, J. G. Umbrite, Field Supervisor, gave a report
an his w Iork in 1947; the said report dealing with the following
matters. (a) spraying road allowances; (b) good co- operation
given by farmers; (c) educational meetings to be held during the
winter. Moved by Mr. Olson that the report be accepted with
pleasure, Carried.
Mr. Olson moved that steps be taken to get particulars
of prices of lumber purchased in large quantities, and have a
report cn same submitted to the next meeting of the Council.

Mr. Petersen reported that he would be absent for
two or tree months, and it was moved by Mr. Schmaltz that
Mr. Par be authorized to look after Division No. 5 during Mr.
Peterse s absence. Carried.

per year for the years 1946 and 1947 for right -of -way across
51 -11 -33 22.4. Carried.
Mr. Schmaltz moved that Council proceed to pass a
