Mr. Schmaltz moved that the minutes of the previous
approved. Carried.
Mr. Umbrite, Field Spervisor, and Mr. N F Bell, Dist-
rict Agriculturist, interviewed the Council, and reported on the
Agicultur 1 Service Board Convention recently held i4 Edmonton.
Mr. Schmelke moved that all matters relating to the
leasing o lands taken over by the Agricultural Service Board be
left in t hands of the Board and the Field Supervisor. Carried.

Mr Ohlhauser reported that a dam erected by Karl
s causing the flooding of road allowances adjacent to
Mr. C. J. Davidson, the Mayor of the Town of Three

Mr. Schmaltz moved that the Secretary notify the Public
.tor that it is the expressed wish of the Council that

dr. C. C. Campbell and Mr. G. G. King assist him in this

Mr. Ohlhauser moved that the two foremen (Howell and
Gimbel) be instructed to secure Chauffeur's licenses, and that they
be instructed to see that all employees of the Municipal District
have driver's licenses. Carried.
Mr. F C Petersen moved that Mr. Schmelke investigate
the hospital account of Miss Elsie Kalin. Carried,
Mr Ohlhauser moved that the eereyary- Treasurer be
instructed to secure advice from Mr. Brownlee on the matter of
payment of gravel taken from streams, where the said lands are
leased for minerals. Carried.
Mr. Schmaltz moved that the Highway Traffic Board be
requested to reduce the ban on the roads to half - loads, egfeetive
immediately, and that the ban be entirely removed at the same time
as the ban is removed on Government highways No. 9 and 21.
Carried.
Mr. Ohlhauser move& that the application for an Old
Age Pension made by Mrs. Presant be approved. Carried.
Mr. Parry moved that the application for an old Age
Pension made by Mrs. Lee be approved. Carried.
Mr. Campbell moved that the offer made by Aubrey Hogg
to purchase Lots 26, 27 and 28, Block 3, Huxley, be accepted,
and sale lauthorized. Carried.
Mr. Schmaltz moved that the Medicine Hat Hospital
be Informed that no authority for the hospitalization of Mr
Alex. Reub was secured from this Municipal District, and the
Municipal District disclaims responsibility accordingly.
Carried.
Secretary- Treasurer was instructed to inform Mr.
C. S. B1 khorn, Wimborse, that compensation for Nuisance
Grounds ill be made as soon as plans of survey are registered.
Mr. Campbell moved that Mr. C. J. Christie be instructed
to make qn inspection of the homes and circumstances of all
widows reEceiving Mothers' Allowance. Carried.
! Mr. Schmaltz moved that a grant of $150.00 be paid
to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind. Carried.
Mr. Ohlhauser moved that correspondence be filed.
Carried.
Mr. Schmaltz moved that Mr. C. J. Christie be appointed
as Assessor for 1947. Carried.
Mr. Christie reported to the Council that Business
tax arrears for the years 1931, 1932 and 1933 levied on
P. Penner, of Sunnyslope are now non - collectable, and recommends
that same be cancelled. Mfr. Parry moved that these arrears of
taxes be cancelled. Carried.

The Council reviewed the status of several parcels of
h have been offered for sale under Tax Recovery Act
gs, and which have not been revenue- producing during
few years.
NW-12-33-22-4. Mr. Schmaltz moved that Mr. G. E.
Postill te informed that he must pay ;?100.00 purchase price,
as per B -Law No. 46, before April 15th, 1947; failing this,
Mr. Camp ell was instructed to see other prospective purchasers
of this land. Carried
NP -28- 3322 -4' Mr. Campbell moved that fir. A. I.
McGougan be offered this land for $1,000.00 till April 15th,
1947, and if this offer is not accepted, that the land be ad-
vertised for sale in The Trochu Tribune. Carried.
NE- 13- 32 -22 -4. Mr. Petersen moved that Alex. Benusic
be informed that he must pay the first instalment of the purchase
price ($150.00), as per By -Law No. 62, otherwise steps will be
taken to sell the land to other parties. Carried.
Nk- 30- 32-21 -4. Mr. Petersen moved that this land
be offer d for lease in 1947 to Paul Elvin for $;25.00. Carried.
WW «17- 28 -21 -4 Mr. Petersen moved that Mr Olson be
instruct Ed to interview the renter of this land, Mr John Peck,
and that the Secretary- Treasurer be instructed to write to the
assessed owner, A. DR. Rasmussen, Standard, Alta. Carried.
5E- 14- X29 -23 -4. (73 acres) Mr. Schmaltz moved that
Mr. Ohlheuser be instructed to endeavor to sell this land for
$300.00, and if unable to sell it, to endeavor to lease it.

The Secretary- Treasurer presented an Estimate of the

The proposed scheme for the superannuation of
Municipal emplyees was discussed, and it was moved by Mr.
Schmaltz that the Council express its approval and support to
the said proposed scheme. Carried.
!There was considerable discussion regarding the
gravellin of roads in 1947, and it was moved by Mr. Ohlhauser
that appl cation be made to the Provincial Government for a
grant of 20,000.00, the said grant to be distributed on the

Mr. Ohlheuser moved that the Secretary- Treasurer be

An application from the Linden Co *op. Association
to open p and operate a Garage at Lots 1 -5, Block 3, Linden
town-site was read, and it was moved by Mr. Schmaltz that this
application be approved, subject to final approval by the
Reeve. Carried.
R. C. Milligen, Returning Officer, was present, and
informed that Council that Howard R. Frizzell has been elected
by acclamation as member of the Three Hills Hospital Board,
and G. B Cummings has been elected by acclamation as member
of the F nora Hospital District.
Mr. Ohlhauser and Mr Petersen reported to the Council
their inspection of the premises of Chas. Young, Trochu, and
their recommendation that the said premises are not suitable for
an implement shed for the Municipal District. Mr. Olson moved
that the report be accepted, and that Mr. Young be advised
accordin ly. Carried.
Mr. Campbell moved that regular meetings of the Council
be held in the second Monday of each month at 10.00 a.m. Carried.
Mr. G. G. King, Asst. Secretary- Treasurer, presented
the pay-sheets for consideration, and it was moved by F. C. Peter-
sen that the pay - sheets which have been approved by the Councillor
concerned be passed for payment. Carried.
Mr. C. J. Christie, Asst. Secretary - Treasurer,
submitte the accounts to the Council, and it was moved by
Mr. Camp ell that the following accounts be paid'
