The Council of the Municipal District of Kneehill #48
held a regular meeting on Monday the 10th day of February, 1947,
(starting at 10.00 a.m.
Councillors present: J. W. Olson,, J. A. Ohlhauser,,
Matthew Schmaltz,eH. Parry, _ F. C. Petersen,_ S. 0. Schmelke, and
C. C. Campbell.,
Mr Ohlhauser moved that the minutes of the previous
meeting lie adopted Carried.
The Secretary- Treasurer read the Financial Statement
for the month of January, 1947.

adopted. Carried.

Mr. Schmelke moved that a Brand be secured for the
Municipal District, and that the required transfer and regist-
ration fees be paid. Carried.
Mr. Olson moved that this Municipal District give its
support to the resolution from the Municipal District of Service -
berry No 43 re Hutterites. Carried.
Mr. Ohlhauser moved that a refund of y ?4.00 for
poll tax be made to Julia Hagel, Teacher at Beeman School.
Carried.
Mr. Petersen moved that the resignation of Dr. H. J.
Lambert as Medical Health Officer be accepted. Carried.

Mr. Petersen moved that Dr. Shand be appointed as
Medical Health Officer for the Prairie Bible Institute,
replacing Dr. Lambert. Carried.
Mr. Campbell moved that Dr. Lambert's account of
$62.00 fjr M. H. 0. services be paid, and statement of same be
rendered,to the Prairie Bible Institute. Carried.
Mr. schmaltz moved that the Council recommend that
Mr. C. C. Campbell and Mr. G. G. King be appointed as a Cokmittee
to administer the estate of Daniel R. Gordon. Carried,
Mr. Schmaltz moved that Mr. York Shaw be informed
that he (Mr. Schmaltz) has examined the bridge on the road
between Sections 11 and 12, Tp 28, Rge. 26 and that 4 pilings
of the bridge have been cut; the railings have been replaced
but the bridge has been weakened by the cutting off of the 4
pilings, and that estimated damage of �p100.00 has been done to
the bridge. Carried.
Mr. Campbell moved that Mr. Ohlhauser be appointed
to investigate the circumstances of Mrs. Emma Doblcar, who has
applied for Mothers' Allowance, and that he be authorized to
issue emergency relief, if necessary. Carried.
Mr. Olson moved that the correspondence be filed
for reference. Carried
Mr. G. G. King, Asst. Secretary- Treasurer, read
the following statement of Public Works expenditures.

Mr Petersen moved that the Public Works Statement
be aee4ted. Carried.

C Mr. Campbell moved that the Pay- s-heets which have now
been approved by the Councillor concerned be passed for pay-
ment. Carried.
Mr. Jackson, operator of a machine shop in Three
Hills, interviewed the Council
Mr. Campbell. moved that a set of large size wrenches
for use on tractors be purchased from Emil Fischer, Acme, for
X55.00 Carried.
The Secretary- Treasurer reported to the Council that
Mr. F. E. Litz has withdrawn his claim for damages against
Mr. Fred Schmidt Mr. Schmaltz moved that the sum of $25.00
be refunded to Fred Schmidt. (reference Receipt No. 4946
11 April, 1.946). Carried.

'Mr Ohlhauser moved that Mr. Olson be appointed to
interview Drs. Ross and Ross in the matter of Charles Trumbley's
account. Carried.
Mr. Ohlhauser moved that application be made to the
Alberta Government Telephones for the installation of a phone
In the 11. D.'s shop in Carbon. Carried.
Mr, H. R. Dickieson, representing Industrial and Road
Equipment Ltd., interviewed the Council, and informed the Council
that discounts are allowed on purchases of Adams Grader Blades
in quantities. 5 to 14. 5%, 14 to 39. 72 %; 39 to 70. 10%0
70 to 99: 122 %; over 100. 15%
Mr. Fleetham, representing Costello Equipment Co.
Interviewed the Council. He made an offer to the Council as
follows:
One (new) Model LS LeTourneau Scraper, equipped with
four 16.00 x 16 ply tires, for (36,920.009 payable $4,300 in
cash, and the transfer of 2 Adams Road King Graders, for which
an allowance of $620 00 shall be made, and the transfer of
one (used) Model G LeTourneau Scraper, for which an allowance
of 42,000.00 shall be made. Moved by Mr. Schmaltz that this
offer be accepted, and that the Council proceed to pass a
By -Law to provide for the said transa.tion. Carried.
Gottlieb Schaffer interviewed the Council on the
matter of plowing the snow off the road adjacent to his farm.
He was informed that this work would be done as soon as mach-
inery can be moved to the location.
The Secretary- Treasurer submitted a number of
plans of survey made by Mr. L. E. Harris for the inspection
of the Councillors. It was moved by Mr. Schmaltz that the
plans of survey be accepted, end that the Secretary - Treasurer
be instructed to sign same on behalf of the Municipal District.
Carried.
Mr. Schmelke moved that payment be made for the
lands taken for Nuisance Grounds in SE- 27- 33 -26 -4 and
SE- 4- 33 -26 -4 in accordance with motions recorded on Page 6 of
the minutes of Council Meeting held Aug. 12, 1946. Carried.

presented the accounts, and it was moved by Mr. J. A. Ohlhauser
