He reported that Mr Chas Trumbley agrees to 0 per month applied on this account from his wages, account is paid Mr. Olson moved that the Municipal ay the account of $75 00 due the Drumheller Municipal or Mrs. Trumbley's account; and that $15.00 per month hs be deducted from Chas. Trumbley's wages to apply Carried. Mr. Schmaltz moved that Reeve Parry be appointed to attend t e Refresher Course June 19 -22, 1946, and that he be paid - ?25.00 for expenses. C. Campbell moved that the Village of Trochu be v charged$ PO per hour rental for custom work done for the Village by the "P.1 -99" Motor Grader Carried Mr. C C Campbell moved that ti5m. Bierle, D Braidwood, Village of Trochu, and Thos. Jones, be charged $p9.00 per hour for G rental of Municipal tractor and implements, and that no account be sent t C N R for work done on the road serving the Huxley elevators. Carried. Mr G. G. C. J. Christie be engag d to review and check the appeals received in the area north of the "Correction Line "; and that those ratepayers living S uth of the Correction line be advised to appear at the Court of Revision on July 4th, 1946, and those ratepayers who live north of the Correction Line be advised to appear at the C urt of Revision on July 5th, 1946 Carried The Reports of Mr. C. Freda Ensmingei and Pars Rose Nikolaus were given consideration, and it was m ved by Mr. Petersen that the recommendations of P:;r Christie be endorsed by the Council, viz. 1 That an allowance of $15.00 per month be continued J for Mrs. Mary Davis 2. That the allowance paid to Airs Daisy Evans be reduced from V30.00 per month to '615 00 per month 3. That the allowance of $20.00 per month which has been paid in the past to Pars. Freda Ensminger be discontinued. 4 That an allowance of y�40.00 per month be continued for Mrs. Rose Nikolaus Carried Mr. Ohlhauser moved that ,heatland School Division be advised that application has been made for a grant to assist in the gray lling of the road between Section 4 -5 and 8- 9- 28 -24 -4 and that should grant be authorized, that this rood will be gravelled. NE -12- sir Schmaltz moved that the matter of the cancellation 28 -26 -4 of the unused road diversion in NE- 12- 28 -26 -4 (Plan 4011 k) be followed up with the Board of Public Utility Commissioners and the Department of Public l'{orks Carried 1 Brownlee Mr Olson moved that the Secretary- Treasurer take up with Mir J E Brownlee the matter of the levying of a Surtax in the Haml t of Torrington, the said surtax to provide for the financin of a well for the Hamlet Carried Haining P:ir Schmaltz moved that the proposals outlined in Mr. VV'l K Vlebb's letter to Estates Branch of date 10th April 1946 vi.,., that the estrte of James Haining, deceased, pay the louni ipal District for any sums it has ddvanced for the maintenance of James Haining, Jr. in the Provincial Mental Hospital Ponoka, up to the death of James Haining, Sr. on 29 January, 1946, that the maintenance of James Haining, Jr. subsequent to 29 January, 1946 be paid by the said James v Haining, Jr (or his legal representative) from the share of the estate of James Haining, Sr (estimted at ;1908.98) which cwi 1 fall to Haining Jr by the terms of Ha.ining's Sr. will. C rried. Jacobson :r C. C Campbell moved that the Council approve the application of Mfrs Patricia Jacobson for a License to operate a General Store in the Hamlet of Huxley Carried. SW- 11- 30 -25 -4 Mr Schmaltz moved that Cheque for 4?34.47 be issued f to Depar ment of Lands and mines as payment for 4.12 acres of land ;a.ken for road diversion from SVd- ll- i50 -25 -4/ Carried. H.R.Brown Mr Ohlhauser reported that Mr. H R Brown of Carbon SE- 16- 29 -23 -4 Alberta, will buy part of 5E- 16-29 -23 -4 (149.39 acres, more or less) an will pay (;:1,400 00 for same. 1500.00 to be paid immediat ly, and the balance of x;900 00 when sale has been approved by the Minister. Mr. Ohlhauser moved that this offer be accepted, and that the Council proceed to pass a By-Law to provide for the said sale. Carried. Pair. Ohlhauser moved that By -Law No. 56 be given first re ding. (A By -Law to provide for the sale of 5E- 16- 29 -23 -4 to Mr. Fi R. Brown for X1,400 00) Carried. Mr Schmelke moved that By -Law No 56 be given second reading Carried gravel Mr. Petersen move1 that Mr Schmaltz be authorized boxes to sell I centre -dump gravel boxes, Carried. T,ir. Brown interviewed the Council on the matter of the sale of SEI- 1- 30 -26 -4 and NW-36-29-26-4 to l:ir Sutherland. After considerable discussion it was m ved by Itr J. A. Ohlhauser that S`1- 1- 30 -26 -4 and NV1 -36 -29 26 -4 be dold to Mr Sutherland for ��1, 605.00; and that this sum be applied to the payment of taxes owing on the said lands as at December 31st, 1944; and that the taxes levied, and collecte in the years 1945 and 1946 be not affected by this sale. Mr Ohlhauser moved that By -Law No 57 ( A By -Law to provide for the sale of SW-1-30-26-4 and N'W - 36- 29 -26 -4 to Robert Sutherland for x;1,605 00) be given first reading Carried Mr Schmaltz moved that By-Law No 57 be given second r ading Carried Mr. Ohlhauser moved that 11. D. of Serviceberry be advis d that 1390 yards of gravel has been put on the road west of Sections 2 & 11- 28 -23 -4, and that no further gravel will be put on this piece of road this year Carried Also that the said H D of Serviceberry be advised thEit the road west of Sections 4 & 9- 28 -24 -4 will be gravelled this year, pr vided grant for same is authorized by the Provincial Governme t. Mr Petersen moved that the road between NV-9- 32 -25 -4 be closed Carried. Mr Schmaltz moved that the unused road diversion 29 -25 -4 (Plan No. 6373) be cancelled. Carried f J Mr. C. C.
