Mr. Arthur Biebrick interviewed the Council on the matter of his application for a License to operate a Coffee counter In connection with his garage business located on NE -3 -28- 4 -4. He informed that Council that he intends to pay his inde tedness to the Council for arrears of taxes and hospital bill by March 15th, 1946 Mr. Ohlhauser moved that approval of the Council be given to Mr. Biebrick's application for a Li ense to operate a Coffee shop. Carried. Mr Schmaltz moved that steps be taken to have Mrs Fleming 11odged in The Linden Home, Swalwell. Carried. Secretary was instructed to inform the Imperial Oil ltd. tha the location of the Acme Warehouse in now within the limi s of the Village of Acme. Mr. Petersen moved that a request be made for a review of the S uth -East quarter of Tp. 31, Rge 23, Vest 4 M to determine if this area is eligible for the payments of P.F A A awards or the 1945 crop. Carried. Mr. Petersen moved that Mr Olson be appointed the representative of this Municipal District to attend the meeting to be held in Drumheller regarding the establishment of a Health Unit C rried. It was moved by Mr Ohlhauser that the approval of the Council te given to the proposal to have the Village of Carbon added to that part of the Drumheller Municipal Hospital Dist- rict which lies within the Municipal District of Kneehill #48, the said combined area to form an electoral division of the said hos ital district, and to be represented by one member of the H spital Board. Carried. Mr Schmaltz moved that the price for lots in the Hamlet o 4rimborne be set at $ 75.00 for each 50 foot lot, and that the Director of Town Planning be advised accordingly. Carried. Mr. Schmaltz moved that Mr. Parry and Mr. Sehmelke be appoi ted a Committee to investigate the advisability of V, providin a supply of water to tize Hamlet of Torrington. Carried. 1Mr. Campbell moved that the approval of the Council be given to the application for an Old Age Pension made by Alex. Breit er, of Trochu. Carried. Mr. Schmaltz moved that the Secretary- Treasurer take the necessary steps to settle compensation for area taken for road diversion from SW- 11- 30 -25 -4 in accordance with letter of Dec. 12, 1945 from Dept. of Lands & Mines Carried. Mr. Mitchler, representing Industrial and Road Equip- ment Co., interviewed the Council. Mr Fleetham, representing Costello Equipment Co., intervie ed the Council Mr Petersen moved that approval of the Council be given to application of Robert Sauer to operate an Electrical / and Hardware business at Torrington, Alta. Moved by Mr. Petersen that the required three readings be given to By -Law No. 44. A By -Law to provide for the purchase of Lots D7 to 33 inclusive, Block 8, Town of Three Hills, as the site for an implement shop. Carried. Mr. Petersen moved that the first reading of By -Law No. 44 ba approved. Carried. Mr. Schmaltz moved that the second reading of By -Law No. 44 bg approved. Carried. Mr. Olson moved that the third reading of By -Law No. 44 be approved. Carried. Mr Campbell moved that the third reading of By -Law No. 41 ( By -Law to provide for the leasing of 5E- 10- 34 -22 -4 to Carl nudsen for 3 years) be approved. Carried. A letter from Erwin D. Reddekopp, of Sunnyslope, requests g employment on the road crews of the Municipal District was read Mr. Schmaltz moved that Mr. Reddekopp be notified that thi.3 matter will be dealt with by the new Council Carried. Mr. V` Davidson interviewed the Council on the matter of doing work for the Municipal District with his tractor and bull -doz r at $8.00 per hour. Carried. Mr. Ohlhauser moved that John Atkinson be paid $1.00 per hour for the use of his 1130" Caterpillar engine and bull- dozer, d 80/ per hour for the wages of the driver. Carried. Mr. Schmelke moved that all extra helpers hired for snow -plo work be paid 70� per hour wages. Carried. Mr. Petersen moved that pay- shhets approved by the Councill rs be passed for payment. Carried. Mr. Olson gave a report on the meeting held in Drum- heller t consider the advisability of building a home for aged and infirm people, his report giving the following data: 1. That there are thirty -fight patients in the various municipa ities concerned at the present time. 2. That to provide a building to house fifty patients would to e a capital expenditure of $40,000 to x$,'50,000. 3. That the committee is considering various means of raising Lhe capital cost' on Assessment basis, on Population basis, e{ c. i 'Mr. Campbell moved that Mr. Olso n(s report be accepted with tha ks. Carried. Mr. Olson reported that he had interviewed Mr. E. H. Read, Solicitor for the Municipal District in the Edward Thomas damage c aim, and that satisfactory progress is being made in the settlement of the said claim. Mr Schmaltz moved that the Reeve and Secretary- Treasurer prepare a brief on the material in letter from Departme t of Municipal Affairs respecting re- organization of Municipal District, School Division and Municipal Hospital District boundaries, and relative matters.
