held a meeting on Monday Sept. 10, 1945.
Councillors present, J W Olson, J A Ohlhauser,
Matthew Schmaltz, Hugh Parry (Reeve), F. C. Petersen, Stanley
C. Schm ,lke, and C. C. Campbell.
The Reeve called the Council to order at 10.00 a.m.
Mr. Petersen moved that the minutes of the previous
meeting be adopted, with the following corrections and
additions:
1 Add to the Bridge request list, 1945, a bridge
for the location Between 35 -29 -25.4 and 2- 30 -25 -4
9. Delete from the Bridge request list a bridge for
the location. Between 8 and 17- 33 -26 -4, and add to the list
a bridge at the location' Between 20 and 21- 33, -26 -4.
3. Add to the List of Townships for which application
is made for the payment of P F. A. A. awards the following
areas' All of 30-25-4,.A.11 of 29- 25.4, East 2/3 of 32 -22 -4,
All of 28 -22 -4, and All of 28 -23 -4

Mr. Ohlhauser moved that each division using the
terpillar Motor Grader and its operator, be charged
se of the said equipment at the rate of $1.75 per hr.

Mir. Schmaltz moved that the above statement be approved
and acce ted. Carried.
A letter from Mrs C. N. Campbell, regarding bars. A. V.
Fleming, was read to the Council. Mr. Schmaltz moved that
Mr. Olson be appointed a Committee of one to investigate this
matter, and report at next meeting of the Council. Carried,
Mr Parry reported that far George McCurrach, an
indigent responsibility of this 1.1unicipal District, is very
ill in the Holy Cross Hospital, Calgary. Secretary- Treasurer
was instructed to communicate with the Hospital, and give
particulars regarding the responsibility of the Municipal
District in this matter.
Ur Schmelke drew to the attention of the Council
that the residents of Tps 32 and 33, Rge. 26, had donated
� 750.00 in the year 1944 toward the gravelling of the
Torringt n- Wimborne road, and that this money was not expended
in 1944. Mr Schmelke moved that the divisional allocation
for Divi ion 6 in 1.945 be increased by this amount ($ 750.00).

The Council gave consideration to a report from

The Secretary- Treasurer gave the third reading of
37 (A By -Law to provide for the sale of Lot 28,
Hamlet of Huxle$r to C T Good) . Mr. `Schmaltz moved
reading be approved. Carried.
It was moved by Mr. Schmaltz that the Trusts and
GuaranteB Co be informed that the Municipal District will
remove the Caveat filed against certain properties in Torrington,
owned by the Gottfred Hager estate, and that the Trusts and
Guarantee Co. be authorized to deduct the sum of $20.00 from
relief s ttlement now admitted by the said Company, the
said sum of $20.00 being legal charges incurred by the Company
in respe t to the Caveat Carried
Yr. Olson reported to the Council that Mr. C. C.
Crowley had accepted nomination to the Agricultural Service
Board,
Mr. Campbell nominated Mr. Dan Rischke to the said
Board.
Mr. Ohlhauser moved that Dr Lambert of Three Hills,
be appointed Medical Health Officer of the Municipal District
for the Prairie Bible Institute. Carried.
Mr Petersen moved that Stark Keinick of Hesketh
be informed no further repairs to the house are authorized,
that he be asked to submit his account for repairs x'49 35;
that he be asked to pay up the balance of his rent since
May 1, 1944 at $5.00 per month (x24.65• and that he be informed
that the house and 2 lots are for sale for $250.00 Carried.

It was moved by Mr. Schmaltz that the Trusts and

Mr Campbell moved that Harold Gehring be paid $5.00
.ring and impounding a stallion. Carried.
Mr Olson moved that each Councillor be authorized
to purch se, from the divisional allocations, mowers, weed
burners or other weed destroying equipment, as the Councillor
may see fit. Carried.
Mr. Ohlhauser meported that he had interviewed
Mr. W. Al Braisher, who had made an offer to buy part of
5E -14 -29 23 -4 (69 acres) for X100.00 Mr. Ohlhauser recommends
that the said offer be not accepted, and further recommends
that it be not sold for less than 250.00
Mr. Schmaltz moved that this report and recommendation
be accep ed Carried.
Mr. Petersen moved that the gravel accounts of
E. M. Fe roe, yam. Kinsey, .Llex. Bremner, Russell Rice, James
Norquay End Peter Friesin be paid at the rate of 5� per yd.
and that cheques be sent accordingly Carried
Mr. Schmaltz moved that the offer of the C N R. to
pay $185,00 for the grading of the road serving the Swalwell ,
elevators be accepted, and that the Foreman of the "South Camper
be instructed to do this work. Carried.
Secretary - Treasurer reported that he had interviewed
Mrs AnnEL Fricke, of Three Hills, regarding the re- instatement of
an Old Age Pension, and recommends that the pension be re- instated
Mr. Schmaltz moved that recommendation be made to the Old Age
Pensions Dept. to re- instate this pension at once. Carried.
Mr. Dan Hoese and Mr Walter Unruh interviewed the
Council n the matter of a License for the Linden Home.
Mr Schmaltz moved that the District offer George
Johnson, owner of S E 4- 5- 32-22 -4, the sum of 2S 00 for land
taken foi road diversion from said quarter, and that the District
offer to place a good fence along the North -East ofthe diversion.
Carried.
Mr. Schmelke moved that a grant of $150.00 be made to
bir. and Irs. Benedict of Wimborne, to assist in providing surgery
for thei infant child. Carried.
Moved by Mr Petersen that Council adjourn. Carried
