C. Petersen, George R. Walker and C. C. Campbell D. v+. Robertson, Auditor, interviewed the Council, and gave a report of the recent audit Moved by J. .A Ohlhauser that D Vu Robertson and Co. be paid $600.00 for the 1944 audit. $200.00 to be paid JL in July, 1944, and the balance at the close of the year's audit Carried Mloved by_ C C Campbell that D. ii. Robertson and Co be paid the 1943 audit fee for the former %,unicipal District of Ghost Pine 0207 00) and Stauffer (1202.00) ✓ Carried J. E. McFee and C. J. Davidson interviewed the Council, and it was moved by M Schmaltz that the runicipal District pay �3'22.50 per month toward the operation of the Three Hills Ration office, and :�15 00 per month toward the operation of the Drumheller Ration office, the said payments to be retro - active to Jan. 1, 1944 Carried. Moved by J A Ohlhauser that the matter of investing municipal funds in Victory Bonds be tabled until the next meeting of the Council Carried Moved by J 'l Olson that the minutes of the meeting held on March ?-0, 1944, be adopted. Olson be representatives of this municipal District to the meeting of the Drumheller Municipal Hospital Board on April 18, 1944. Carried Moved by iti, Schmaltz that J Olson be appointed a Committee of one to investigate the case of Mrs J 1i Wa ker. Carried. Moved by J eJ Olson that J A Ohlhauser and M. Schmaltz deal with the matter of disposing of the Carbon office, M H.J.King APRIL 11, 1944 Page 2 and the purchase of mots 5 -6 -7 and 8, Block 5 in the Village of Carbon. Carried. Moved by George R Walker that Council adjourn until 1 30 p m. Carried The Council re- convened at 1.30 p.m. All members present Moved by C. C. Campbell that the consolidation of taxes contract between the Municipal District and Arthur Hess be extended for one year Carried Moved by J. A. Ohlhauser that the proposal of H. J. King as given in the report of the Judicial District be endorsed by this 1,11unicipal District Carried crass -seed iloved by F. C. Petersen that steps be taken to seed the road allowances of the "Iiunicipal District with grass -seed, and that 3,000 lbs of #1 Com Crested VIheat Grass seed be ordered. Carried. Moved by M Schmaltz that 1,000 lbs of #1 Com Alf.lfa seed be ordered. Carried. Moved by 1.1 Schmaltz that a synopsis of ecah council meeting be offered to the following papers Minutes I Three Hills Catital, Carbon Chronicle, Drumheller Review, Acme Sentinel and Trochu Tribune Carried Secretary was instructed to notify the Drumheller and Carbon branches of the Alberta Farmers' Union that the matter of maintaining the Carbon office has been referred to a Committee Carried Assessot Moved by J. Sudie Hanses requested the Council to take no action to sell N14- 11- 30 -24 -4 for taxes, and that she had. promised to pay 1/3 of the 1944 crop to taxes Moved by George R. uialker that Mrs Hanses be informed that her proposition is acceptable to the Council and that no action under the T-ax Tteeovery Act will be taken until the fall of 1944 Carried. Movod by F C Petersen that the approval of the Council to given to the application of Emile IMorel for 3_n Old Age Pension. Carried Moved by C. C Campbell that a 3y -Law be passed to provide for a. discount of 5% on Current taxes paid before November lst, 1944. Gialker be appointed a Committee to investiggte the possibilities of getting daughter of Frank Martin committed to the Provincial Training School Carried.
